I’m not going to stop driving my petrol car, but for our second car I want a Tesla. I’m not buying it for the environment, I’m buying it because it will serve us better as a local-travel vehicle than another petrol car.

@ — Spare tyre kits are commercially available, and they average in the $300 (US) range. If the cars intended use was cross country, I would certainly go that route, but I’m not interested in an EV for that purpose. When I’m driving long-distance, I will routinely go 400-500 miles between stops if the car has the legs for it. EV’s are not yet up to my requirements for such an application. So given my needs, I’ll just throw a can of tyre snot (fix-a-flat) in the boot for the unlikely event of a flat. But that said, your point is a valid one, and all buyers should know about the lack of a spare.
