Have you ever heard of crankshaft offset ?? — done for the very reason you cite here.

It’s not that big of a deal with direct injection … It was a different story when the intake charge was fuel laden (e.g., carbed or port injection) …
4
Did someone mention a CVT ??
4
Compressed air doesn’t combust. Inject the fuel at the time of desired combustion (like a diesel) …

The cylinder in the 2-stroke diesel pulls almost no vacuum, so the air needs to be pumped in. On the conventional 2-stroke petrol engine, the sealed crankcase is used as the “pump” to draw the charge from the intake and then push it into the cylinder.
3
One ignition event per cylinder per revolution.

No …

I found 2-stroke motorcycles back in the 70’s to be very reliable … They fell out of favor because of the blue clouds they left in their wake.

Good for you …

Yes …

Humans are highly overrated …

This damned thing is gonna be so coked up by 40k kilometers that the head’s gonna have to come off. I’d be hesitant to buy such an engine. I’ll just stick to a 4-stroke petrol engine (or diesel truck) until they get EV’s sufficiently developed — if ever.

I like ic engines … So at least one person wants them …

If you have a 1-litre engine that fires once per revolution, or a 2-litre engine that fires once every two revolutions, which burns more fuel ?
1
It promises to be a very long gasp …
1
It will work fine on e-fuel or biofuel …
1
Don’t count on it …

@learjet1246 — Just obsolete …
1
Good for you, but no thanks …
1
Did they ever run that engine on petrol ? 😁
1
You must be lonely …
1
No it doesn’t … Air in a roots blower is fed around the outer portion of blower housing ..,

@RJTC — Ethanol smells good when burned, too …
1
It works like and IS a 2-stroke …
1
Sounds like it will carbon up the works to me …
1
@ITroopTheSpace — It’s still dirty. Clean exhaust is available downstream of the converter/particulate-filter (diesel). Soot and clogging have long been a problem with EGR systems. The complexities of modern ICE engine emission systems are making EV’s increasingly attractive …
1
@somedude2492 — That boy is dense. Give it up …
1
What’s the injector lifespan of the modern common rail diesel injector (typically up to eight injection pulses per ignition event) ??
1
No …
1
True … Can’t change that as long as you burn hydrocarbons. But then, Mazda didn’t claim it did …
