Hitler lost in Russia as early as Sept ‘41 . The Soviets inflicted a 25% casualty rate unsustainable for the Wehrmacht.

@MD97531 myths Germans tell themselves to feel better about losing . You’d think after Berlin was burned to the ground they would have learned a lesson about attachment to myths . Nope .

@Jefffrrry the German suffered more casualties in the first two weeks of Barbarossa than all their previous campaigns combined. They underestimated how ferocious the Soviets would fight back along with the Russians ability to move their factories East and rebuild them extremely quickly .

@MD97531 not true the Germans lost half their soldiers and the Soviets only lost 25%

@MD97531 per capita the Germans lost more soldiers than the Russians. The Soviet lost twice as many soldiers but their army was 34 million men and women

@ShubhamMishrabro yes they did that does not mean they didn’t lose battles badly . Typhoon on Sept. 30 , ‘ 41 the Germans killed wounded or captured half a million Russians. Of the 200,000 strong Das Riech elite SS troops of Typhoon suffered 50,000 casualties lost many hundreds of Tanks ,Trucks , Horses on the open road to Moscow . The Luftwaffe got shot to hell over Moscow . A 25% casualty rate was unsustainable for the Germans the Russians could absorb a 50 % rate. Whose capital was turned into rubble?
