  2.  @sharebear421  those are wild over estimates that included artillery pieces destroyed. The Germans during the southern offensive at Kursk had 226 tanks destroyed and 1,310 damaged. This includes their self-propelled AT guns (their Marders). The Soviet units during the southern offensive at Kursk had 1,379 tanks destroyed and 1,092 damaged.

The Germans had numerical advantage up until the counter attack at Stalingrad and the overwhelming Russian advantage of manpower really didn’t kick in until Kursk . The real reason the Germans lost is because the Russians fought back so ferociously even whilst losing that the Germans could not sustain the losses. The Germans had 500k causalities by late September 41 they would never recover

  11.  @AmericasChoice  the Wehrmacht simply could not sustain losses of 25% while the allies could the Germans just had never experienced the fight that the Russian gave them even in the losses like Crimea a siege that lasted a year the Russians managed in inflict casualties and slow the Germans . In beating every country they invaded in six weeks the Wehrmacht just were not used to taking heavy losses .
