Thank God Firefox now has hardware decoding, and it's much faster than what it was 1-2 years ago. I'm really concerned about Google webengine getting monopoly. Youtube used to be hellish with Firefox, on purpose, and Google's Android dev site was horrible with Firefox when I last used it in 2019. This sort of shitty behavior is possibly only because they have essentially monopoly already. I really hope Mozilla finds a way to become monetary stable and finding some competitive edge to Firefox. One huge advantage for Gentoo users is that Firefox compiles much faster, though still it's slow AF but I want everything compiled from sources on principle =)

@purgatoriprytania5382 It's not a threat. But as the alternative engine it at least keeps web from going to Google owned playground. And with a bit of good luck Mozilla might get an alternative revenue source. The situation is dire, but it will be much more dire if Mozilla collapses, or if the userbase gets too thin.

@earthclad6833 As long as Mozilla's idiotic talk remains just talk, I'll be using Firefox and hoping it would spread. We need alternative webengine, and as long as Mozilla provides that and doesn't implement anything horrible, I'll be supporting it.
