  2. @Phoenix Free as in freedom software has nothing to do with communism. You managed to write a long comment that doesn't have any facts. I guess that's a talent in itself. Capitalism is great, but you certainly shouldn't be allowed to patent math formulas. Essentially that's all that software is and ever will be. There's a reason why Linux runs pretty much everything on this planet, even though Microsoft did everything to kill it. If for whatever reason Microsoft would have been taken out, as they should have done, then the quality of FOSS software would be incredible and much better monetization schemes would be used.

  4. Β @imjoeking_Β  I know a ton of Linux users and none of them uses Windows software. Though they know how to use one if needed.

Β @MsHojatΒ  This issue is two folded, on one hand if patents and IP wouldn't have been allowed in the first place would create much better monetization practices etc. and on the other hand if we think about changing just certain things on our current world, that is much harder question. Closed source operating systems in Internet era is something that shouldn't exist. Perhaps one rule would change things, force any software that has Internet connectivity to be under certain open source license. That's just from the top of my head, it might not work or there might be much better options.
