  1. I don't like the word Elitist because it implies that the those persons want to insulate themselves above others, when in fact majority/most Linux users would love people to join their "elite" community and are actively helping those that are in the transition phase.

  2. I should have written better, what I meant was that most people interpret the word that way. And in this context it's used almost exclusively to describe negative attitude, at least when the word is used by "normies".
