  1. Allowing Google to have monopoly on it's webengine is really problematic even with open source Chromium or ungoogled chromium. The amount of shit certain google sites do with other browsers is bordering on criminal. Firefox manages to get these unstandardized google services working fast, so it's not a huge problem. But it shows that they are willing to do whatever to gain monopoly, or near monopoly.

  2. I really loved this video. While most of the software I use already, but there were couple of gems that I didn't know about. I really hope you would continue with videos like this. Showcase all of the good software or software worth knowing about.

  3. I have VLC on Gentoo Linux and it works perfectly. I truly love VLC because I can have shortkeys that speed up/slow down the video. It has been a life safer when watching university lectures. Sometimes you need to speed up the reeeaally slow pace or when the subject is already familiar, but when some fast lecturer teaches complex math, slowing down the video makes huge difference. Pausing the video periodically doesn't work, and watching it multiple times doesn't work well, but slowing it down works miracles.

  4. VLC has lots of features that MPV doesn't. I use MPV for TV / films, but VLC is great for learning videos etc. as I have shortcuts for slowing down or speeding up the playback. That helps a ton. Some lecturers are slow, some topics are easy, and then there are those math lecturers that I just have to slow down or I wouldn't learn a thing. That feature alone makes VLC great.

  5. Firefox is amazing, especially now after getting hardware acceleration on video playback on Linux. Many other things have gotten better in the last couple of months. But I would use it anyway because Google's webengine shouldn't have monopoly, it would be horrible future.
