  1. Laptops that have integrated or soldered RAM, no thank you. M1 with it's MASSIVE L2 cache and integrated RAM ( and thus super low latency ) gets really high utilization. Thus 5nm benefits from the cache perspective, and having integrated RAM helps a ton. So while it's kind of impressive, the hype is really not justified. When you improve the IPC of ARM you lose lots of the benefits of ARM. So I really don't expect future Apple silicon to have much higher IPC.
