  76. Beamforming and higher frequencies not causing bouncing will make 5G capable of recognizing your device in couple of inch accuracy. This is again public knowledge, though may not be common knowledge. Just like most really important information in the world. Any conspiracy or theory is not tinfoil hat at all, assuming there's not simple physics that make it impossible, though most don't seem to get that quantum physics already make most of physics not absolute truth, 2nd law of thermodynamics being the most important example. You only need tinfoil hat to believe in media and that our society makes sense, especially on financial institutions and debt based money itself. When you figure out enough of the public but not publicly known truths, like the fact that governments have paid closer to 100 trillion to private bankers in the last century because they stopped creating money for themselves and instead allowed couple of families to freely create money out of nothing, without any oversight, and to determine interest to that money, and thus all the money. Thus creating bubbles and busts one after another, taking all the stocks with pennies in short depressions, and then inflating them back. They own everything now, we are more in debt to couple of the world's families than there is wealth in the world. Once you realize this, or some other similar insanity, it forces you to continue on that path, and soon you'll see that world is filled with insanity, history is a complete fiction, most conspiracies are truth or at least the official version is complete lie, and these all are mathematical facts of facts of physics. Thus the only sensible way of thinking is to believe in any conspiracy that spreads and that isn't against physics, math, or any other thing that doesn't need anything external as medias can create whatever lie they want, and Hollywood have been able to fool the people since the 50s or 60s to believe in any shit you see on TV. Secret societies keep the lies globally and control every media to the school paper level almost.

  80. Try to install, configure and run without problems Windows assuming you have never used it before. It's pure hell. Also if you buy laptop with preinstalled Linux, it's going to work like a charm. He is unfair to Linux as the way he is looking the whole thing is unfair. Trying to install Linux on custom PC with lots of esoteric hardware, for the purpose of running Windows games on it, with using the Windows paradigms, it's certainly going to be hard as phuck. This challenge would make sense if it continued for a year. You get all the problems and issues based on you not knowing things happens in the beginning, and that period takes many many months. Also gaming is simply the most idiotic thing to do on the challenge because there is simply no possibility for Linux giving any additional benefits for running Windows software. Longer time would at least give some benefits through it being stable and not giving a shit, there being much better updating system etc. This challenge seems like designed to attack Linux just before Valve releases Steam Deck and SteamOS and tries to get people migrate from Windows to Linux. Because based on the things I already stated, among many others, there is no logical motive other than trying to show how much better Windows is. As for the esoteric hardware and gaming, especially at this point when Valve's kernel updates and other stability, compatibility, performance updates are not yet ready. The only thing I'm claiming is that this challenge is stupid. It would have been much better if it were between employees of the LTT who are not so busy, and who might actually enjoy learning new things, and who could continue this challenge for at least couple of months. Perhaps even continuing it for as long as there are people continuing the race, only letting the competition to stop in a year. And different prices for the people who dropped at different places. Linux cannot be made more normal. It could be made more bug free, desktop environments could be made more intuitive, there could be better guides and slightly better support, though I think support for the most used distros are pretty good. The main thing that gets people to switch back, and to not even try, is the fact that you absolutely need to learn new paradigms, lots of new things, basics of terminal if you plan to do anything but the basic usage of office, web, playing media. The sad reality is that modern computers are just too fast for the performance related things to matter, Windows is now also stable and secure enough that those things matter for the most. So essentially Linux lost it's possibilities it had from the late 2000s till Windows 10. Sure lots of people quit Windows 10, but those that didn't got used to it, and were now even less likely to migrate. If Valve builds great gaming OS and manages to get momentum on getting drivers up in shape, kernel updates that improve further compatibility and performance, it really can be huge next year and in 2023. But will non Steam games work good enough, that's something I don't know. But I see the possibility of Linux becoming good enough for gaming that Windows doesn't offer much more than Linux. That would get tons of people to Linux, and gamers are essential in spreading the knowledge, being the IT support people for their friends and family. So that's the next possibility, and if things do not work out right, then it's going to be a long long time before there's another chance.

  82. Linus being Linus was the best marketing for Linux, it's not the best marketing for normies, but they are the last to adopt anyway. Everyone knows Linus is passionate no compromise attitude guy who cares about the code. It's hard to know better marketing. You can't market free software, it's not even in the interest of any media to support free software. Nobody but existing users follow even Linus, so there is no hope for marketing. But youtubers with a mission etc. common people can do tons. Chris Titus had in mind to do helping videos for Windows users where he inserts "in Linux I do that this way" parts. There are lots and lots of ways that every Linux user can make a difference. Actually now that I think about it, the community is the marketing force, and by that I mean that really helpful and altruistic community is something that people instinctively recognize very fast, and they recognize that anything that produces such a community must be something worthwhile to check out. Linux is community driven, so it should be marketed community driven. And that actually is the only possibility, at least for the next foreseeable future. Even if Linus gets some media coverage with "bad" news, that's still good, because it leaves a mark in subconscious. But I still hope he would check out his worst impulses, those are too harsh in today's snowflake political and cultural atmosphere. Sorry about spamming, but I have spend so much thinking about this that I just had lot to write and free time to do so :)

  125. I have yet to meet any Trump supporter who is as racist and sexist that vast majority of leftist. It's open season against white, men, Christians and republicans. We are in real dystopia when we just label people and treat them accordingly, no matter how horrible the label. We should only focus on actions. Are we truly removing people from open source projects because they have opinions that are against code of conduct, if we assume that they don't promote or act on those opinions within the boundaries of that open source project/community? Essentially are we blocking Chinese people who think their communist regime is great? Or people from all over the world who support their respective country, it's main religion and ideologies? Code of conducts are weapons to spread the ideology of those who have the power to influence on the conduct. It's not democratic, and it will be used to slowly brainwash people and isolate those that think differently. On corporations this doesn't matter that much, you are essentially slave for the corporation against salary anyway. On open source projects however it can be the worst kind of cancer. It may create a safe place for insanity. This kind of slippery slope is really dangerous. And many of the bad things are invisible. Like alienating real old school coders that actually matter. Lets be civil, smart, but not give an inch to this insanity. Forest fires all start from single spark, slippery slope has been the method of social engineering, takeovers and all kind of horrible acts because it works.

  130. Equality is a word. The ideology behind that word is trash, against nature, unattainable, destructive. Only thing we should do is remove artificial barriers. Equality has nothing to do with equality. It's just scheme, a word that is hard to argue against with couple of words. But anyone thinking capitalism and equality could work at the same time is special kind of stupid. Anyone who thinks communism is the solution is dangerous stupid. Females have vast majority of all power. They can reproduce, they have superior advantage through sexuality, and they have better emotional intelligence and thus they know how to manipulate their situation much better. Men have more physical strength that is absolutely useless nowadays, and more logical intelligence on average as men are more left brained and women are more right brained. Now all sorts of laws, customs, etc. create lots of advantages for women over men. And to know how power actually is shared, you cannot look at the higher levels. Rules there are not based on the social system. Really the only sensible way of looking things is to not look at the top and bottom 5-10%. The more power goes to women, the less people will reproduce. Most European races are already in the verge of extinction, not because there are too few people left, but because there are 50% of foreign races that reproduce over twice the amount, and because the rate of reproduction has been lowering in accelerating manner for decades. Changing this on the whole nation level requires miracles. And this really is the goal of these idiotic belief systems, entertainment industry, and it seems the whole western system that is controlled by certain groups.

  150.  @augusto8632  Pretty much all wars have been to remove that country's independent central bank and replace it with fiat money Rothschild owned central bank. Though only within countries that have some sort of raw materials, oil, or something that has actual value that now can be pumped with fake money. WW2 was against Germany who had economic boom in the 30s when the rest of the world was in great depression. That couldn't be allowed as other countries might have rebelled against their overlords. Thus everything in Germany was censored in other countries, like the average wages that were much higher, better work conditions and rights. It really was almost utopia as they implemented the logically best system for the people. Though I'm not saying that there weren't problems for certain people. But j€ws declared war to germany in the 30s, they forced all jws to boygott anything from germany, and jw partisans were causing problems, communism (jwish ideology) was really on the rise in Europe and that caused a lot of problems. So it's not like they didn't have reasons for that hate. Though US psyops war division got rid of all the people in Eisenhower camps that knew anything that happened in WW2 and then massive psyop started that still continues to this day. Only in P2P networks and dark web you can really find evidence from that time period, like newspapers, radio broadcasts, speeches, letters, blueprints, scanned books of that era, and photos and films. Those paint absolutely different picture and is 100% logical, the official lie really is not logical. I remember from the childhood asking about thousand questions that just didn't make sense to me. Now with the real info everything makes sense. I'm 100% truther and researcher, no affiliations to anything or anyone. Conditioning is so heavy, as it has been going on throughout our lifetime and even before, that after such information almost everyone thinks that I'm neonazi or something like that.

  159. GPUs cost ridiculous amounts because people are willing to pay for ridiculous amounts. Anything over 200$ is pure legal robbing. Exception is those custom cards that I understand would pay like 100% more. Nvidia and Intel have been in practice monopolies, and it shows on pricing and/or innovation level. Mostly pricing when it comes to Nvidia and lack of innovation when it comes to Intel. If we look what goes in 150$ smartphones, it's unbelievable. No wonder Intel and Nvidia have been paying billions and billions to stock owners. They just can't spend the incoming money. Thank god Intel is finally getting what it deserves, and lets hope Nvidia will follow. One thing that people should understand. Gaming benchmarks are not the same as GPU's performance. Drivers have huge effect on the results. Nvidia has been cheating with their drivers and by having almost monopoly it's been able to work with large gaming houses to optimize games for their architecture. Of course there are no perfect ways to measure performance, but one good way is crypto mining performance. You can't cut corners when doing raw math. It takes just one generation of GPUs, if they become popular, to change the way games are made. Navi is the game changer, because optimizing to Navi will be closely the same as optimizing for PS5. So games will become much better optimized to Navi. I would like to have at least 3 major big corporations in CPU and GPU markets, and no one having over 50% of the market share. When we had this, innovations were constant and prices were low. Thank god in CPU market AMD is finally crushing Intel's monopoly, but will Nvidia fanboys ever buy AMD GPUs, that will be the question. I surely hope, and we could see huge drop in prices and more innovations.

  164. Equal treatment is sickness. Equal amount of power is what we need. Women have the power of reproduction, which is the most important power of long time survival of race/nation. Women also have the power of sexuality which they have been using as a proxy, like all mammals have since the dawn of time. Men have more physical strength, but using that is outlawed and it's pretty useless quality in modern times. "Women were so oppressed back in the day", people who say these lines actually have no understanding on for example 19th century reality. Men in general have always had family (wife/children) at their core value, to whom they have done everything. Life before was pretty hell for most men, unstable times, famines, wars, and huge amount of hard physical work. But men do this because of their family. Men have been oppressed always, but women don't see that because they only look for those that are on the top of the social pyramid, the 1-5% of men. That is not a good representation of society, and changing that with laws etc would require communism. Men accumulate money and power because they have so much less natural powers than women, that is the primary reason and cause of why men have more power in society. But now feminism is used to make powerful men even more powerful, by making all other men less powerful. That makes majority of men not interesting for most women, solidifying the power of those that already have it. Also women will never start a revolution, at least no successful one. And men working their buts off to get enough status to get a family, are distracted from power politics and learning about our corrupted society. The most important thing that every person should decide is what is the goal of the society/future they want to get. I think only sensible goal is long term maximum happiness and success. And long term has to mean hundreds of years. So we cant fuck up this planet, or use all the resources, and we have to build values that support families. Most of western world is doing suicide by having no children. And this is not by accident. When you acknowledge that the goal should be long time success, then you have to study if "equality", feminism, or whatever, is actually supporting that goal. Equality is like cancer in society. It completely ignores the most important powers that humans can have, reproduction and sexuality. Because women have more power, they are not interested in getting money/power. But there exist one form of glass ceiling, it is in the form of secret societies like freemasonry. Those pretty much only take men, and in lots of places you only get promotion or elected if you are a member of some occult society. One side note, pretty much everything we do is controlled by our subconscious. Subconscious has the ability to be like a psychopath in a way, that for example it can make conscious mind believe that it's being altruistic, while actually it's just completely selfish. Feminism and liberals are usually "victims" of that. Well, most are actually. Really getting to know yourself, and being honest with yourself is important, or we are just working as a ignorant double agent for our selfish desires without our own knowledge.

  170.  @MaxLorenz  Changing the meaning of words is essentially global brainwashing because conscious mind can only think by using words. Changing the narrative, changing the meaning of words has been the way world has been ruled since the Babylonian times at least. This happens constantly, words get changed, meanings get changed, and this slowly changes how people feel about things. The sad reality is that most people are like craps in the slowly heated water, "this is OK" until the end. It's really hard to see when you are young as everything changes in your life constantly, and time goes in different pace. But it starts to become more obvious later when life normalizes. I would encourage everyone to study secret societies, how they have controlled things from "the shadows", in reality they are the ministers, presidents, CEOs etc., but how did they get there and what ideologies they really represents and to who they have made blood oaths. For everyone that this is new knowledge, it seems totally crazy, and it does to everybody. Nowadays it's much easier to realize this through Internet, though it bring other problems like disinfo and controlled opposition spreading lies and making it seem that "truthers" are crazy. In the times before Internet exploded, it was usually by damn luck that you got into this knowledge. For me it came because my uncle was a member and tried to groom me into member also. From that point on I have been on the quest of knowledge, and spreading knowledge. As the knowledge that I have compels me to share it, or to be more accurate, compels me to try to lead people into paths of discovery.

  199. I have never met anyone who beliefs in flat earth, yet everyone knows about this. It truly is psyop against people who speak truths, verifiable truths from now historic events that are completely something else than what's the official stance. Science is a word. So called scientists on media are not science, they lie their asses off because of either getting paid, being part of the agenda or just afraid of their position. Science has been wrong pretty much the whole history of science. That's one thing people must acknowledge. Sure most of the time it's the best knowledge at the time, but in the last century science has become more and more about money, controlled and owned about those who have money and power. Obviously that doesn't mean things that are not science are truth either. Or that all science is actually the same. Huge part of science nowadays is BS correlation based statistical studies that are not worth the paper they are printed on. At the same time studying things that are against agenda is impossible, universities do their best to block those studies, scientific journals don't publish those papers, and you are not getting financed. I'm kind of apolitical, but mostly I believe in meritocracy and I'm mostly right winged conservative. These are all results of lots of thinking and studying the past couple decades. Though current capitalism and globalization leads to quite horrible world as corporations become too powerful. I know couple of truly genius level people with decades of studies and research, and we all have pretty much the same facts and beliefs.

  212. The older and wiser I have got ( I'm in my 40s) the more I understand how important words are for creating reality. Even something that feels insignificant can actually be quite important. I absolutely think creator is not the same as author, even if you are complete atheist it still changes how you feel. It's hard to describe shortly, but it creates bigger meaning on the words chosen by the author. For example, if you have read a story, and now you have a daycare business where you tell that story to young children, if you think someone is the creator of that work, then you more likely think that you are infringing his rights vs. that you think the writer as author. It's quite hidden difference, but it's there. And there are still lots of religious people who feel even more towards that word subconsciously. RMS's explanation wasn't clear on this, and it really is hard to explain, but I think he is right. Also I think digital goods is a bad word. If someone has a service that delivers bluray quality videos over the net, the copying part doesn't increase the cost from using the computer at idle, the cost comes from everything else. It would be the equivalent of ordering sea water. That water is free, the pumping takes tiny amount of electricity, but delivering is pretty much 100% of the cost. Perhaps another analogy would be to think private teachers, the knowledge is essentially free, but you are paying on the time of the teacher. This is important subject that needs more talking. For example if we pay for Spotify, we are not paying for the artists, Spotify only pays peanuts for the artists. While not the best analogy, it's like you would order your private teacher from service company, and then most of what you pay for your teacher would go to that service provider. Source code, especially when it's compiled, is like mathematical formulas. There should be no protection for mathematical formulas. IP protection should end the second you start selling your product. Corporate espionage etc. obviously should be illegal. You could sell your product only to people who sign a contract, and in that case your product would never become public. But it wouldn't solve much. We have been brainwashed to think this would hinder development and R&D, but the opposite would be the truth, now things would evolve like open source software does. And think about what would the level of software be if there wouldn't be copyright laws. And also one important thing, while there wouldn't be IP protection, there would be trademark protection, no one could have your trademark or trademark that could be mistakenly thought as yours. That's the key why good honest companies can always charge more, and why there would be lots and lots of customers that would happily pay much more. The more complex your product (thus the more you have put R&D in it) the more it's value comes from the corporate processes that cannot be seen from the product itself. For example, if people would reverse engineer your product, they still don't know how to manufacture the same product, and how to do it cost effective, and what methods of development you use, what internal process tech you have. And there's always the possibility of co-operation and alliances. To understand why this sort of economy would be better is complex, but the TL:DR is that there's no artificial blocks for development or artificially inflated prices, profits would spread among more companies, and thus there would be larger customer space and better opportunities for making money, though for a shorter term per innovation. Changing our current world to this "no IP protection" overnight might cause lots of problems, but doing it slowly wouldn't. Let alone if there wouldn't have been IP protection in the first place.

  227. ALL Code of Conducts are horrible. It's time that people really spend the time to understand this. They all always used for discrimination. All the worst crimes are done in the disguise of doing good, and code of conducts are great example. The methods of doing these things has to be convincing enough for majority not to see, otherwise it wouldn't work. So if you really don't get it or think this is crazy talk, please think about it more. Who are these used against for, who do these protect for? Why do people have to accept certain predetermined rules that can be used against you at will, without you having any measures of defending yourself. After all, it's free software that should be all about freedom. Code of Conducts are totally against freedom. I would be really interested in kernel development, but I won't agree these code of conducts. Because they are inherently racist and sexist, and against pretty much everything but far leftist ideologies, and anyone can prove it to themselves by actually bothering to think about it harder. Things like BlackLivesMatter implies that other lives doesn't matter, and while I get that many minorities have horrible burden with their socioeconomic background, but what are the actual problems that needs to be fixed? Listing all the past crimes over and over is just playing the victim and preventing any real healing from all sides. Recent events have shown that people are still asleep, 911 and the decade that followed really didn't open the eyes of people and media can still manipulate and brainwash us like the puppets we are. Though there are lots of signs that this time people are finally starting to see the game, the same game that JFK talked about his famous "Ruthless Global Conspiracy speech", which most likely sealed his fate.

Countless things effect certain different ares, but global higher temps would quickly raise the ocean levels. What the phuck does car in a garage has to do with anything? People who don't understand math will be phucked over till the end of time. It takes about one second for that car to emit 500% higher CO2 increase on that garage than humans have done on the atmosphere in the last 300 years. And 300 years ago the CO2 levels were one of the lowest points in worlds total history, getting it slightly lower than what it was would have collapsed ecosystem. 95% of CO2 comes from oceans and from the biomass itself. All energy used by humans create 2-3% of CO2, this number would have been constantly smaller the farther away we go in time. Scientists are just employees under different organizations, being under heavy NDAs and forced to do what the company or organization wants. Some freedom exist in the boundaries of universities, which are also controlled by the 0.1%. Sadly I know this by experience. There's still huge amount of scientists that speak the truth. But corporations control the publishing platforms, medias, etc. that is used to "verify something is scientific". And you are not going the get one cent of funding for anything that goes against the agenda. And if you have been blacklisted once, it's game over for your career. When people finally realize that medias are the worst plague of humanity, and start to actually research things and not be brainwashed by the medias, we can achieve huge changes quite fast.

  242. 2 hours a day is 22000 hours in the next 30 years. Workflow gets faster with Linux, no problems with updates, no problems with viruses or any malware, you save by not needing new hardware as often. Learning Linux doesn't mean more than learning Windows means. You could learn more if you want to, but just getting comfortable of the system is enough for majority. You still reap the benefits. Sure there are groups that should just use what ever they are currently using. The problem is that people don't know the benefits before they have enough experience on the system. It's really hard to convince someone for the benefits, and through the Internet it's even harder. But couple of things are pretty easy to say. You get 100% control of the updates. Though almost everything can be updated on the background without any effect on your workflow, you can use your software and allow updates to run in the background without problems. All OS security patches, new features, drivers, all software and their security/feature patches are automatic. You get your software installed and ready to use by either writing "Sudo apt install YOUR_SOFTWARE" and from that point on it will keep itself up to date automatically. Or just click install on GUI software center. Then there is system resources, Linux uses much less of them, especially memory. Then there is security, it's much better. And finally you can choose from multiple desktop environments, have all of them configured exactly as you wish. You can do small things, or massive things, it depends on what you want or on your level of experience. Just choosing the best environment, having shortkeys to software and/or commands, having things pop up where you want, having panels that you want, these are simple GUI settings and really help a ton. My parents (over 70y) use Linux because they only browse Internet and use Office. They both have single core laptops from 2006 with 2gb of RAM. That is enough. As updates run without problems, I don't need to fix their systems anymore or get support calls. Thus you use Linux not to learn about everything of "car's inner workings" but to have more reliable, faster, economic and better looking car where you can install new features if you like. It certainly isn't for everyone, but the sad thing is that you really don't know without trying it long enough. Thus Linux is pretty good for people who know nothing of Windows either, except how to browse the Internet. Those people that know Windows decently are the ones who fear Linux the most, and who get frustrated because Linux isn't Windows, and they drop it before actually adjusting to better OS. The amount of people that migrate from Linux to Windows, assuming they have used it for years, is non existent. So the question then becomes, is it worth the time to learn it, and does it have the software that I need. And finally does it matter that it's open source vs. proprietary where you are just renting the privilege of running code that you don't know what it does and if there are spying or security holes, while the malicious hackers and agencies sure know it.

  292.  @Jmod8  Building a computer saves you about the amount that you make in couple of hours to couple of days at most. If you take the time better OS can help you in all the ways I explained during the rest of your life, it's going to be HUGE number of hours. And sure, normies don't want to have an effort, mostly because they don't know the benefits. If someone tells them, it's not the same as knowing. And if you value security and privacy, it's obvious choice. It also runs better with older machines, allowing some real ancient machines to get into new life. But the analogy was just against the "Linux is not free, you pay it with your time" claim. Against that claim the analogy works. Why you would ever start to learn driving a car, just walk or use cycle and you certainly are there before you have a drivers license. And that analogy is pointing out that when you compare two things like OS', you need to compare the total benefits, not just the next 5 minutes or next 5 days. Sure if you know Windows already, Linux takes time, but is it worth it? That is the question. And I argue in most cases it is. My mother had his first Linux installed by me when she turned 71. Now after almost 3 years, she has already saved a ton of time. She didn't have to learn much at all, and it allowed her to get trouble free, maintenance free machine that runs much faster. But of course there are lots of people that just can't migrate, or who would have to give up something for it. Or who have no person to help them with Linux. So there are lots of valid reasons for staying with Windows. Just the arguments against Linux were shitty by techlead and other people that say the same.

  294. Unless Elon has been practicing some martial arts, he has no chance in hell. Putin rose in the ranks of KGB all the way to top, in times that no one in the west has ever lived. Also being really (not just in the memes) good at judo gives him great advantage. He would take down Elon instantly and all the benefits of bigger body would go away pretty much immediately. I'm just remembering my youth with one of my friend being black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He was quite thin and only 172cm, and looked like a nerd. Lots of bigger more muscular people attacked him as people knew his legend in my hometown. It was quite insane, usually couple seconds and the fight was over and the other guy(s) in some sort of lock screaming in agony. Obviously this tweet was just a joke, but a poor one. Anyone who actually has bothered to research thoroughly what has been happening in the East Ukraine knows it's pure genocide. Ukraine had already planned massive attack to end the separatists, killing god knows how massive amounts of people. Russia waited to attack on that very day, as now they had most of the Ukrainian forces on one area, instead of being all around the Ukraine. People think Russia is weak because they are not bombing everything to bits. They are liberating the +5 million people on the east, while also not causing damage to the civilians. Almost every single photo and video is pure fabrication and it's easy to see if you actually stop and think about it, and compare it to known war images. Poor quality drone footages when you have harder to fake things, while having perfect footage otherwise. Cars that have been in accidents are being masked as "victims of war" while obvious as hell that those have not been bombed (at least to me as I'm pioneer in the military). It's all fake. Don't let the trick you into WW3 to join ranks with the actual nazis of Ukraine. Watch Oliver Stone's Ukraine on Fire, Revealing Ukraine. Both are in BitChute, Odysee, YouTube. And many different translated versions also exist. Those show the base of the issues. More can be found from BitChute and Odysee, Youtube no surprise has censored everything that is actual truth. I myself am from Finland and I'm certainly not defending Russia, but I'm defending the truth. I know people from Russia, west and east Ukraine and have thus followed this thing really closely from 2013.

  299.  @josecarlosxyz  So what if grandpa or grandma isn't a professional user. My story at least is 100% real and it has had a large impact on my life and my mothers life. Here's one dude who switched to Linux and is real and at least somewhat pro user, check out this video and perhaps his couple other Linux videos too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sn9ruNAW_4 I'm developer myself, and professional developers tend to use Linux a lot. You would use Windows only if you really have to. Linux is just so much better. On the university that I went, we all got Linux laptops and all work got done within Linux. At least if you studied math, physics, chemistry or computer science that was the case. Other subjects were on other campus, but I assume that was universal in our university, which is the biggest in our country and quite high ranked overall. So it seems to me that you had your ego hurt and you now hate Linux because of it. If you really are a developer, you are fool not to learn Linux, unless you are primarily doing Windows software. Perhaps you choose wrong distro, or just had really crappy luck. Take the latest Ubuntu LTS (choose your desktop flavor, I like Mate myself) or some Ubuntu LTS derivative. Don't bother updating to non LTS versions, you still get updates, but not any big changes, and it's rock solid. And be humble. Learning something from the scratch might suck for a while if you have been pro user for a long time. Eventually you will certainly be happy that you lasted.

  311. Jay wins the worst, most inaccurate RDNA 2 review, with added bonus on not knowing how IPC works. Was this award won by just luck alone, or was there hard work behind it, that's the question. Did you release the results with power limited card? Ghost recon wildlands was faster even with 6800XT than 3080 on 4K, even though AMD is much faster at 1440p and 1080p. Was these results poor because of 1440p or 1080p? Both having exactly 100fps suggest some hard limit, for whatever reason, as there's zero change that you could optimize game so poorly that it wins 15% on 4K but loses 30% on 1440p, especially when 1440p is much stronger for RDNA2. 6900XT is the fastest 1440p gaming card on the planet. And with 16GB it will stay that way vs. the competition at least this console generation. 1440p with highest textures on 100% nextgen console games will require more than 10GB, as consoles have 12/14GB and can stream assets much faster with low latency, so games will have huge variance of textures eventually. On PC with longer draw distances, more/better effects and techniques, and with some buffer because you can't stream assets the same way, that 16GB becomes necessary much faster than people realize. Or 10GB won't be enough would be the better way to put it. I would certainly not buy 6900XT, as 6800XT is way better in value. But better silicon with more headroom for overclocking and the above reasoning, it's certainly worth it to some. And for those who are willing to pay whatever to get the fastest 1080p card for some competitive edge, it might be worth it. Lets hope for a miracle that AMD releases bios that allows Infinity Cache overclocking, and manual latency tuning. That way you could get much more from these cards, especially from the best binned silicon 6900XTs.

  314.  @seikb-9228  Thats bullshit. Linux community is much nicer than communities on average because most Linux users want more users, as it also benefits them. The challenge was stupid, for one, playing Windows games on Linux makes no sense unless you migrate for other reason and hopefully now you don't need to dual boot. You cannot make any massive ecosystem jump in a month and expect it to be great. Linux is that different and migration requires a lot of work. And it's precisely that work that keeps people from migrating. The long term benefits are there, after couple of months you are over for all the initial problems and have learned the basics. But the longer you use Linux the more benefits you get. For some reason people just accept the claim that Linux community is toxic, which is absolute BS. Obviously you will find these people in a group of tens of millions but in general that's BS but people accept that claim. People who fail at migration use this excuse to show that "it wasn't my issue, it was the community" and for some reason the community eats it. And that has caused pretty massive damage to the whole Linux community and FOSS ecosystem. There are no large companies, no marketing budgets, no celebrities etc. preaching about Linux. So when Linus claims that "someone was toxic" even though they clearly wasn't, they just explained facts as the facts are, this creates pretty massive problems. Don't eat that narrative !! Don't be part of the problem by believing in that, instead protect the community from this sort of false accusations and be the good helpful person to others.

  315. The problem however is that Co2 doesn't warm the planet, the warming planet increases Co2, which then causes more heat radiation in the upper atmosphere and that levels out the temperatures in the long run. The benefit from higher Co2 are minimal, but still there. That's why statistics have always higher temps followed by higher Co2 levels. And it's also why in the 80s scientists claimed Ice age is coming, and why in the 90s most signed the document that stated that co2 cannot warm the planet at any reasonable amounts human could cause. 0,05% is so insignificant amount if we look what there has been previously. Massive volcanic activity etc. could raise Co2 high enough that it leads to cycle of increasing Co2, but burning all the fossil fuels humans have any chance of getting their hands on in one year would raise the co2 to 0.06%. You are correct that if Co2 would be a problem, then we are focusing on ALL THE WRONG THINGS, and oceans are the most important thing, followed by rain forests. Perhaps the most important thing would be to cause maximal development of tech, as we need better tech to solve these issues, but instead we are causing economic problems, which only make bankers the owners of this world. We are more in debt to bankers as there's money. Thus if economy slows down, we have to give them our wealth in paying for the debt. And it's exactly the reason why all the lies are pushed in science, as science is owned by the billionaires. There's no actual power in the hands of scientists. Billionaires own universities, corporations, institutions, medias and politicians though lobbying and bribing.

  364. WTF, Linus was talking complete shit. That Enrice guy was much closer to reality, and that reality is shared by genetherapy doctors and statistics. Already in my country this vax has caused 5 times more deaths in people under 65 years old, and injuries still more. This whole virus is scam by media, just like 911. Even if we believe all the statistics from these tests that are done totally against the recommendations btw, it's still less than 2018-2019 flus everywhere. I'm living on the area where we are supposedly having the worst outbreak in the whole country, yet nobody I know knows anybody who is sick. And that truly is weird because almost every year people get influenza. Media does nothing but lies, they say hospitals are full and people need to be sent to other hospitals true emergency airline flights, yet my nurse friend says there has never been less work and hospitals have less than 50% of what they normally have. I have been into hospital once last year and it really was like ghost town. People should really read that these mRNA vaxxs actually do, how those are not tested even on animals after it was banned because too many animals died. There's been genetherapies based on the same viral transfer method, as in many case that risk is justified, but the results have been quite horrible. Rate of cancer has risen so much that even 1% of that rate would make vaxxs impossible. Also there's perfect medicine against these infections, why this isn't talked anywhere? That's the reason countries like Taiwan have no casualties as doctors there describe these asthma steroids. These are free and haven't had any problems in 20 years. Linux Foundation supporting vaxx passports is driving me away from Linux. I really don't believe Linus is stupid enough that he doesn't know the reason for this shit. I guess he is part of the agenda now, and that seems to happen for almost everyone who become a multimillionaire or who get into power.

  383. Stallman is stupid to say these things, because he uses terms that allow his enemies to prove their point is right. Though Stallman is right also, because everything depends on how you determine certain words. Also he speaks about issues that most people just want to erase, deny, have easy solutions and promote things that make them look like the good guy. Then again I can't really know Stallman's claims either, what he mean when he uses the word pedophilia, because it can mean adults who are only interested in young children, and it doesn't take much logic to see the harm in this, or if he means what is the more popular way (here at least) that someone legally adult is with someone that is legally considered as a child. And that can be 18yo being with 17yo, depending on the laws of that state or country. Also it depends if we look it the way "is this harmful for certain, or most likely" or if we look at it "is this harmful in enough cases that it should be banned". These issues are impossible because the term is so radioactive that any debate is impossible. Nothing makes me more angry than the stereotypical pedophile, well, elite pedophiles are even worse. Though I hate how much words determine our lives, how weaponized words have become, so if my take on Stallman is right, I get where he is coming from and there's quite a lot of wisdom behind those stupid comments. But those comments are stupid, even though your ideas behind them might not be. Still I think it's great RSM is back at FSF and they should just fight against the cancel culture and SJW mobs, even if it kills them. I know many people who are now free software advocates because they heard about Stallman and started researching the man in 2019 when this all blew up. Hopefully they can use this to their advantage.

  398. Trying to find a group with over 50 million people that doesn't have any radioactive people is impossible. For some reason people who fail at migrating to Linux seems to always find these poisonous people, maybe to feel better about failing themselves. When I seem to only encounter people who just want to help people. For most it's obvious why there is no commercial support. The only real complaint is about hardware manufacturers that do not provide any help/info that would allow open source drivers to be manufactured by the community. Making fun on Linus like this is harmless. While the problem with PopOS was clearly the fault of the PopOS, the user is still at fault for not reading the screen. I haven't seen anyone who blames Linus more than PopOS, mostly it's 90/10 for the OS' fault. This video is purely humor, and it's about the most known Youtuber who has the reputation of being humorous guy, and who references himself as such constantly. Someone who just tries to install Linux for the first time almost certainly cannot point flaws that the community already doesn't know. But in Linus' case exposing certain flaws for the public got them attention, mostly this PopOS thing that was momentary mistake. In Linus' case he really doesn't even want to use Linux, he expects Windows' paradigms, and complain about things that Linux community cannot fix because of the hardware manufacturers. The challenge itself is insane, as no one should migrate to Linux to play Windows games. It's great that games are working better and better, so if you appreciate other things on Linux you possibly can play games also without dual booting, but in that case you have to appreciate the other aspects Linux gives or there's no reason for the migration. One month is so short time that there's absolutely nothing to be gained from migration. You get all the problems and then the challenge is over. This could have been decent if LMG would have had multiple contestant and the challenge would have been one year long, or as long as the last person would have migrated back. If Linus would have asked volunteers and give the winners some prices, there might have been many who would have tried and some who might have migrated for the good. But perhaps it would have been too big undertaking and without the most well known people in the challenge probably would have dropped the viewership of those videos. The one real flaw that prevents migration is the cost of migration. You need to learn a lot, things that you already have learned for your current OS, you get all the problems in the beginning and the rewards come later. And there really isn't much that could be done to change this. People who do not appreciate freedom, open source, privacy, enough to ditch Windows just because of those things, almost certainly do not feel it's worth the effort to migrate. Linux can become normie friendly if some corporation starts hosting a distro and really mean business. Valve's SteamOS that come in 2022 has the potential to kind of force certain standardization and thus make it easier for commercial software to enter in Linux. Lets hope Steam Deck gets really popular and all goes well.

  414. Medical science has only touched the reasons behind getting overweight. Some reasons are simple, more reasons sounds like simple but actually are not. For example, the mechanisms for feeling full or feeling hunger. Also it's ironic that the more harmful, non nutritional food is cheaper and more addictive, so lots of poor people in the west are eating shite. And the average purchasing power for large part of people has been shrinking for decades. But then there are some HUGE issues like what kind of microbes inhabit your gut. Microbes are really important for many aspects of our metabolism, part of which is our hormones. There's been research on rats, where they gave exact amount of food to rats and after initial time, they chose the fattest and thinnest rat. They took the microbial mass from their gut, sterilized their gut, and then switched the microbes between them. This resulted over time the exact switch on them, fat became thin and vice versa. My family is weird, my mothers side is fat while they eat healthy and little, my fathers side is slim while they eat all the time and probably more cholesterol than my mothers side eat food. And I'm pretty average. Anyway, because I have had such an interesting examples from my own family, I have been very interested on this subject. And more on my 20s when I trained semiprofessionally and tried to get all possible knowledge on nutrition. Clearly this subject is MUCH more complex than what pretty much everybody thinks. The best thing that people should do is to realize that they just don't have enough knowledge. Couple of clear things though, stop eating sugar and drinking sugar. And stay away from trans fats. Those will apply to everyone.

  427. While I love the fact that you don't follow the orders, I totally disagree with your reasoning for taking vaxxs. Any healthy person who doesn't have preconditions and is under 60yrs of age is more likely to get serious problems from the vax than from the flu. Here in my country there's more damage done by the vax already than from the virus. And the huge problem with any genetherapy drug is that you simply cannot know the effects without decades of testing. All the previous genetherapies from 2000 onward (when the first group of people got their genetherapy) have shown that the risk assessment have been horribly wrong. 30% of the members of that first group have had cancer in the following two decades. Most of those are above what there should have been, as the average age of the participants were low. When Phizers ex CTO and group of epidemiologists try their best to get the vaxx totally banned, and show lots of Phizer's own studies to back it up, then people really should listen. Most likely I will never take any drug again. I had depression years ago. For many years I ate drugs that didn't help, then I stopped and after the initial "withdraw" I started feeling better and better. Later I got into really bad infection cycle, I had massive bad infections that took month to heal, I had to take IV antibiotics and then after getting released another month of pills. After my fourth infection they recommended long term constant antibiotics. I already had massive problems from the antibiotics, so I thought I'm not going into hospital no more. I got that massive infection with 41C fever, but it healed faster than when I took the antibiotics, and when it was over, I felt much better. I still got that infection about four times, but each time it was killed off faster, and now I haven't had it in years. Trillion dollar industries cannot be trusted, at all. But that doesn't mean that they are not doing good job also. The point is that I don't trust any doctors anymore. Pretty much everything I have ever heard from doctors have been false information. Pure materialistic view of human body is just so horrible paradigm, it needs to be changed. And I'm a physicist, not new age magician.

  445. The most important reason why companies make it big have nothing to do with IP. Most companies don't even try to patent things anymore, as those really doesn't work. You would have to be quite large company that actually can afford massive legal battles that take years. IP protection is great only for the selected few giants that can block competition away. For the total economy and level of inventions it's quite horrible. One way to think about this is to try to figure what would have happened if IP never would have happened. To me it's obvious that not having IP would have resulted in totally different, more leveled society, with higher level of innovations. Trademarks would still apply, as those could be seen as signatures of the company. And corporate espionage would still be illegal. But when the product is sold as public goods, then it's free and open, and using government to enforce threat of violence against others that use ideas from these public products, that's bad idea. Many say this is form of communism, while it's exactly the opposite. And this is not to say that we should remove all IP immediately, as in the current structure of western society, that would cause damage. But doing it slowly (or as fast as possible, after researching the effects) would give edge back to western countries. So many areas of business have been totally phucked in the west because of China (and other countries) raping our IP laws. They reap the benefits of no IP laws, and all of this is orchestrated by small group of people who control our world and have only certain global goals in mind. China is their chosen country, because the people are so conditioned and collectivists there.

  446.  @fredsas12  As someone who just finished masters at computer science, I have to say that Windows cannot be made anyway nearly as safe as Linux is out of the box. One important thing to know is that with proprietary software it's microsoft that knows what your computer is actually doing, you don't know what the code actually does. Many holes get unfixed because of that, and your computer can be used to spy you. Linux is used in all supercomputers, and +95% of the servers, and pretty much on every device that has any kind of intelligence (billions on billions machines). So it has so much more financial implications than Windows, that's why everything gets patched instantly, and quality of all the essential OS components is amazing. Quality on most parts is far better with Linux. And it's because the code is open source. A lot of people are inspecting the code, and bugs can be fixed in theory by anybody, but the code still gets inspected thoroughly before getting committed to people. These coders want to make the best code possible, and that is their reward and thing they can use on their resumes etc. Open source is far superior model when there are enough people on the project. And there are enough people working with Linux, and it also has huge amount of corporate support. But with clever licensing, all those benefits come for everyone to enjoy. By the way, the most popular paid OS is Android. In theory it's free, but it makes huge amounts of money to Google. Android uses Linux kernel, though modified version.

  450. And you think you have not been brainwashed? You have absolutely not a clue on the realities of this world, just like +99% of the people in general. The difference for the majority of the brainwashed masses however is that you are intelligent (not intelligent enough) and because of that you are more helplessly brainwashed by the clever methods used by the western oligarchs. I'm from the west, spent the last 15yrs for researching this system and it's lies. And obviously also the lies of Soviet system and Russia. This aggression against Russia has been planned for many decades. And the reason why Russia is the main enemy for the west is it's vast resources and it's military power, nukes, submarines, and nowadays the hypersonic missiles. So the west cannot attack against Russia the way they attacked Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya etc. that had (Syria still has thanks to Russia) private central banks and thus couldn't be controlled the way most countries are controlled. Almost everything Russia has been saying about this war is right. And almost everything that is correct is being censored by the big tech and western medias. It's one of the most understandable war since WW2. The economic war, that has been going on against Russia already since 2008, is however absolutely insane. It's worse than all the sanctions previously done against all other countries in total. Nazi Germany did have only fraction of this. Even Britain honored their deals and paid Germany the money from their banks. At the same time USA/Saudis are causing genocide in Yemen and the world doesn't even know about it. Obama started bombing 5 new countries during his first term and he got Nobel piece price. The west is absolutely run by satanic p3dos who are running these amazing democracies to the ground. Russia hopefully finally got away from these satanic big tech companies and will build something better eventually. Europe and USA is going down, unless something is going to change here fast. But all the statistics show accelerating hell for the west. There are still nice quality of living for most, but after petrodollar will collapse, so will Euro, and only the insane levels of debt is left, banks take everything. To really understand what has happened and what is going to happen, you need to know history, science, economics (especially economics and know it well), and do a huge amount of work.

  454.  @fran13r  Sorry I missed one word. You were talking about your parents and I thought they were the ones telling it. I have no interest on misrepresenting you as that wouldn't lead to anything positive. You should have shown to your friends and family the different DEs and asked their favorite. To me Windows 10 is horrible looking and one reason why I ditched Windows for the good when win10 was released. "do you realize that learning windows is knowing that a click selects and a double click executes an action?" So you think teaching this is the reason why IT support exists? I really don't even know how to respond because that is just so insane. Assuming you have the hardware that Linux supports out of the box, and you would use only software found in the repos, Linux isn't harder than Windows. If you buy Linux laptop with software center it's rock solid and simple. The possible problems come differently. For example updates bricking your OS is pretty much impossibility with non rolling release Linux. Comparison would be long and complex so lets leave it at that. I said "Linux is not for the prosumers" because those people like to play with the newest tech, try tons of things, tweak but do it with OS safeguarding them etc. and good example of a person like this is Linus. Linux for normal usage is not hard. If you have preinstalled Linux with good DE, playing with it is not hard. On Debian based distros you can use synaptics as a software center for all the packages if avoiding terminal is the key. It's condescending to say "Linux evangelists will never get it" when for example I have direct experience for installing Linux for a lot of computers after Windows have bricked itself, or support has ended for that version. I know the problems of both, and on what kind of people these problems arise. Perhaps you interpret my words wrong or something. But this serves no purpose anymore. I'm honest in my comments and I have experience since Win 3.1 and Linux from 2001. It used to be something only for developers and sysadmins, but depending on the hardware it's been decent for a long time now. The problem with migrating to another ecosystem obviously keeps the userbase small. Also Windows have become better since XP era so there's less reasons for most to migrate.

  499. +christianege - I thought exactly as you, until I started investigate it through physics and math. I dont blame you for having doubts of my background, but if you truly are interested in the truth, you should not be afraid of investigating "crazy theories" or "crazy evidence" 911 clearly isnt just controlled demolition, or thermite. Best videos on the subject is by Dr. Judy Wood who has done huge research on the subject. Tahere is so much evidence on new tech that any other conclusion is just impossible. For example the melted cars and engine blocks with lots of unburned paper over those cars. And the fact that most of the material from WTC vaporized, steel melted but still people could survive without burning and rescue operation was possible. How long do you think that molten steel would have prevented such operation? The best evidence, the easiest evidence, that apollo program is pure fiction has never been debunked or discussed anywhere. Also nobody can debunk physics and math. But I understand that your subconscious is making you believe that it must be the case, because it has already figured out that accepting the truth on apollo fakery is infact the worst conspiracy to accept. It will shatter your world view worse than any other because you have to acknowledge the level of deception into whole another scale. That video is in poor quality, but still if you have some physics/math knowledge, what Richard Hoagland represents is complete nail in the coffin of apollo footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPqROrDwEeQ

And you probably have degree on information psyops because what you say is utter BS. But if you want, you can always forget all the video/photo evidence and just go and use math. Check the official data they give and insert it to matlab etc and check out what happens. Anybody who tries logic "I challenge you to create whats on the video" is proving how dumb they are. I challenge you to fly to moon and back. Do you really think that flying to moon and back is easier than faking it? That logic is so dumb and ignorant, that I actually hate myself for even answering to it. You say that "everything is indictive of them being in moon", have you done calculations? I would sure like to see your math, or are you just saying what you feel? cos feelings are so good proofs. "Why do we never see dust blowing like in deserts", because we are on the fucking studio. Even if they would have filmed it in desert, do you really think they would choose windy day? What you are suggesting is to that I watch videos to prove that something that is impossible by physics/math is actually truth. I would suggest for you to learn physics and math. The great point of physics and math is that when someone says 2+2=79 you can actually know for sure its bullshit, you have all the science behind you and no authority can override that. Because Im almost certain you are not going to do that, I have another suggestion. Think for a moment that you are the one responsible for filming the most important and most expensive exploration of human history. And you know that people are thinking its fake, cos lots of people said that its fake and impossible even before Apollo 11. Then how would you suggest filming should be done to prove that its actually real mission? I have asked this from many people and they all come up at least 2-4 of the 6-7 easy answers, that would be extremely hard to fake, but as easy to film as any other clip. Do you think its all just coincidence that all what we see is exactly the easiest possible thing to fake, and ALL of the hard ones are missing. And I give you a hint, those hard ones are actually also the most interesting things to film and show for public.

  526.  @MentalOutlaw  I'm building the lightest/fastest possible Gentoo Linux system that only needs to run web browser and online video. Essentially fully optimized Gentoo with manually selecting the minimum requited packages/USE flags, Gentoo LTO overlay with Ofast LTO Graphene and the rest. And obviously distc is used for compiling. Point here is to get ancient single core/thread Celeron 1.8ghz laptop to run Youtube in full screen. I got that laptop for free in 2011 so it's my hobby to keep that laptop alive. My mother has been using it happily, I offered to buy her new laptop but she didn't want that. Now she has started to watch online video and after optimizing Lubuntu to the fullest, playback is still skipping. Only reason I try this build is because I think compiling directly to that single thread CPU with only small amount of L2 cache might improve on the performance quite a lot. Currently this concept is working on virtual machine, and I'm using DWM, that's the spark for this whole comment. But my point here is, if you have time and interest on creating a video or video series on how to achieve absolute minimum system for web browsing, as that is certainly one thing that everyone would need to have and good place to start expanding based on individual needs. With distc you could turn even ancient laptops as decent browsing machines that you could give to your relatives, children, etc. Obviously huge undertaking, but I wanted to suggest this as I think there are people who would be interested in this and I think it shows the strengths of Gentoo as well =)

  539.  @Hugh_I  I have used GentooLTO overlay with ~amd64 and it has been incredibly stable. I only have 2c/4t CPU and I also have Ubuntu Mate. I use Mate on Gentoo also. So I can compare the performance between Gentoo and Ubuntu. And damn the difference is so obvious. Granted I have been optimizing Gentoo as much as possible, it's been my passion forever on computing and life, so Gentoo obviously is made for me. PGO, Profile Guided Optimization, is also amazing on the software that supports it. The problem is that it doubles compile time, but at least I had quite massive improvement from it on Firefox. If you want to compile kernel with O3 and make the kernel use march=native, USE flag called Experimental allows these. After going into USR/SRC/Linux.5.xxx/init and then editing Kconfig. Search "O3" in Kconfig and remove the line that says ARCH Dependent (which is 1-2 lines down from where the only O3 line is). After that you will see "Optimize more for performance (-O3)" option in config utility. I don't know why it's Arch dependent, but it works perfectly without any problems. And I haven't heard anyone having problems with it. Sadly LTO isn't available for kernel, but hopefully should be in the near future. I tried manually if Ofast, Graphite, and the other GentooLTO flags would make kernel faster. By manually changing the .config, but I don't know how I would benchmark kernel, but at least it didn't have positive effects on other benchmarks. Especially on GCC 11 I think O3 makes sense as GCC 11 made some changes that made O2 produce slower code. Most likely it's just placebo (which I think makes it still worthwhile) but in my mind O3 kernel just feels snappier. Like certain things are couple hundredth of a second faster. That's the one good thing for having 7 year old dual core laptop =)

  556. Mainstream media, social medias, all are full of BS and all can be controlled much much easier than people think. How? With unlimited money, and unlimited in the literal sense. The amount of money doubles in every 7-8 years. I am now 40, and I should be owning about 35 times more wealth that my parents did when I was born to essentially have the same amount of wealth. And while I have about 3 times the wealth they had, my relative wealth is 10% of what they had. Most people just don't see this, as inflation is so slow because those that get all the money are not using it to buy things, they are using it the same way like countries use atomic weapons. In the long term we need real democratic money, it could be done with cryptocurrency that doesn't need mining which has prebaked rules for creation of new money, aka having the best inflation rate depending on how much the currency is flowing and sharing all the new money among all the users. It cannot be done just yet because it needs to have 100% verification that people have only one main account where that new money would come. We need P2P networks, perhaps using encrypted cloud as backup and using cloud as the place where people would download their services after they get their private keys from the P2P network first. There are lots of possibilities, but the sad thing is that most things that would be really beneficial for humanity are things that cannot be monetized, at least not effectively. So how to get people working on those projects is a problem. True social media that is not corporate controlled, would be amazing thing. If the point of that is not to make money, but to share knowledge, ideas and allow real dialogue among people outside of your bubble, well, it could be amazing. But these things would be too dangerous for governments to allow them to exist, so they would have to be decentralized and allow anonymous access but also verify that you are not a bot and make it as hard as possible to have multiple accounts.

  560. I don't want to ban abortion 100%, but I firmly believe abortion is murder. Assume a family has car crash, everybody dies, except one who gets permanent memory loss and the later fall into a coma. For the sake of argument we know this coma takes 9 months. The only difference here killing this coma patient vs. abortion is the fact that in the case of abortion it's about woman's selfishness. There's always adoption if you don't want the baby. The claim that woman owns the baby and can do whatever with it is ridiculous, and in that case you should be able to murder your child day before the birth, and actually even after the birth up. I support abortion in the case if you have been raped, or if you are really young or there's any medical reasons. In the case of birth defects I would allow abortion too. In any case the abortion must be thoroughly justified. Feminism is the most dangerous ideology on earth. It leads to the extinction of the race that adopts it. And the results of that can be seen already. Most of Europe will have more fertile immigrants or their children than the native people in couple of decades. Immigrants on average have over 100% higher fertility rate, because the native people don't have lasting relationships and don't have children. Because feminism brainwashed women to think being a mother is bad and supports patriarchy. Communism is horrible, but at least it can be overthrown and people will have relationships and make babies. Feminism is satanism in a dress, it tries to destroy both sacred masculinity and sacred femininity. Satanists are the behind the feminist movement, and this is absolute truth, research it!

  648. It's funny how people forget nine eleven and all the media psyops after that. All freemasons and thus all media knew exactly who were to blame. And based on that patriot act destroyed freedom and wars that caused trillions of dollars and millions of innocent lives started. Stop consuming mainstream media. You shouldn't believe anything they say. They managed to convince everybody with CGI planes and impossible physics that nine eleven was caused by planes and terr 0rists. About once per decade economy is trashed on purpose. Late 70s fake oil crisis, late 80s early 90s the fall of soviet union (made by artificially causing energy and raw material prices to go down) caused widespread economic depression. 2001 the attack and artificially created dotcom buble, 2008-2011 artificial financial crisis and eurocrisis. I was expecting 2019-2020 to collapse economy again. It takes about a decade for common people to start believing on economy again and buying stocks etc. at their high prices, and it's the richest people that get away from stocks at this point and wait for the collapse and buy the stocks back on companies that now can buy bankrupt and nearly bankrupt small competitors out of the market with pennies. These artificial crisis are much easier to accomplish than you might think at first. It just require that lots of really rich people in secret societies work in sync and media outputs bullshit. The rest is people reacting to the information and stock market prices, this causes further media bullshit and the vicious circle is born. This can be used to bring stocks up or to crash them. While this is not caused by direct manipulation on the financial markets, most have been. And it's exactly what some of the founding fathers warned us about. Allowing private central bank to create money and most importantly change the interest rate as they wish, would in the long run pump all the wealth from common people to the hands of those that control the interest rate and their inside circle. The simple solution is, buy stocks because companies pay dividends. Try to buy when they are cheap, and only sell if you feel that some other stocks would be much more profitable, or because you need money for big investments. And only sell when economy is in good state. But stop following your wealth. You won't win at this gambling, so don't gamble. And stop following medias completely, instead follow independent people on all over the internet. And try to educate yourself about the secret societies and their beliefs and goals. Nothing is more important or more profitable in the long run.

  655. Capitalism without control creates hell on earth. After certain point the power of those who buy work becomes too great. And eventually robotics and AI handle most of the work, which just makes more and more people to have nothing. This is mathematical fact, something that Hitler most likely knew really well. And corporations that operate globally cannot be controlled, this should be obvious. On most different industries there are handful of corporations that control +90% of the market. Tiny number of individuals that can operate almost above laws now have all the power. They have too much power and any market really cannot control them. This really leads to essentially global communism instead of national ones, and trying to overthrow a global system is insanely harder task, practical impossibility. Those in the control are pushing this system fast as hell now because people are catching up to their plans. I absolutely love freedom. But it cannot be absolute, as again it will lead to dictatorship and that can be proven through mathematics. I think we should change taxation to consist only for corporations, as corporations are "dead entities" based on the laws of the state, and thus we could argue that state is providing corporations some services and level ground to grow upon. With some tiny progressive taxation we could essentially limit the size of corporations and thus the power of individuals owning those corporations. Most of that tax money should just be shared with all of the citizens, each having equal amount. That way the system would be almost 100% consisting of private companies and services, but where there would be actual competition without possibility of too much accumulation of power. Though the sad reality is that this is impossible without doing it globally. It has been impossible forever now. It wasn't impossible when Hitler was in the power. I absolutely don't claim to know enough about Hitler's plans, what would have happened if Germany would have won the war. But I believe he hated capitalism because he knew perfectly well where it will lead. It's like jumping from an airplane. Some people know where it will lead, but most just look at the great scenery and praise the feeling of weightlessness. The 20th century the ground didn't seem to be closing in, but now we are seeing it coming closer faster and faster. Still, I'm anti-socialist and pro-capitalism and pro-freedom. There just need to be limits for the amount of power individuals can accumulate, or the system is non sustainable.

  657. I think it's important, now we can stop racism. They should also ban words like poverty, hunger, war and decease, so we could get rid of all of those bad things too. This is pure Orwellian nightmare. Anyone that actually knows how reality can be changed by changing the meaning of words, knows how dangerous road this is. We already have totally changed the meaning of words like racism and sexism. Racism = valuing persons human value lower because of ones race. Anything that is critique of culture, religion etc. is not racism, while those things correlate heavily on race. Sexism is little more complex word, and in a way even more dangerous. Men and women have more in common with males and females of other mammals than between themselves, depending if we look it through anthropology, through metaphysics etc. and trying to make everyone be "just humans with different genitals" is the surest way to destroy that culture. We already see this, most European races are going extinct pretty fast, 1.5 children per woman and continuously getting lower, and while researchers say "it's due to better education, people moving to cities..." etc. which are partly true, but the raised income and easier life should have made having children much easier. And having children is what women with healthy femininity and men with healthy masculinity would want to do. That process has been deliberately trashed to the grounds. In the late 60s there were whistleblower insider that wrote a book about the plans Bilderberger's were up to, and it was this exact thing to destroy femininity and masculinity, and the methods how they were going to do it. With rough timeline for the next 50 yrs and really rough estimates of the next 50 yrs after that. Pretty much everything in that book is like Marty McFly took Delorean and traveled to late 60s with a book that was written buy some really honest historian, which are as rare as time traveling Deloreans really.

  673. Linus' takes are based on his decades of Windows knowledge, internalized Windows' paradigms, his esoteric hardware causing problems, and himself causing problems. PopOS' issues was mostly PopOS' problems and a sad coincidence, just like all those totally bricked windows 10 computers after many different update cycles, but pretty much everything else is because of Linus complaining about things that are not fault of Linux. Hardware problems can be corrected when you buy new hardware next time. There are Linux compatible hardware on even the esoteric categories. Just look what works and what doesn't. But this whole challenge is pretty idiotic. Trying to run Linux with esoteric hardware and trying to play and stream games made for Windows, do this in a month with person like Linus who runs large business and have wife with 3 kids, and the change of this being anything but hell was certain. The challenge should have been with more people, have many people in LMG to join, keep them competing and filming the challenges, and make this challenge a year long, or as long as all have dropped. Give some prices for those who last the longest and some punishing for those who last the least. Linus should have been the referee, interviewer, etc. and the one running the challenge. That way it could have lasted much longer, and we could have seen the evolution of a Linux user. Now we see only the problems. Even without any problems you absolutely do not learn or get benefits from Linux's different paradigms in a month. On a year yes, but it improves further, unless you spend a huge amount of time on your computer learning things. That kind of long term challenge would be great, because it could actually lead to them leaving with Linux.

  684. It's ironic that Mr. Poutine is actually fighting Yazis in Uk. Rain and stopping the genocide that has been going in there for the past 8yrs. I'm from west Europe but I have close friends who have been living there for the past decade. Poutine is the good guy here. Without any doubt. It's the most just w@r at least in 40yrs. West 100% censoring RUS just shows that they are afraid of the truth. There's no point censoring lies, as truth would always win against the lies and openly debunking lies would always be much more effective than eliminating lies. Censoring is to prevent truth. That should be totally obvious for you all. Also the role of Poutine is highly exaggerated in the west. Sure he is the most powerful man in RU but he is far from dictator, far from the level of control over his country than a lot of dictators. Also he has not broken any laws, or changed any laws to get to be a president for longer. RU voted constitutional changes that also cleared all the previous terms of presidents. All the people were allowed to vote. In the west they say that voting in RU is hacked. But it's more honest than it is here in my country. Or in USA for that matter. People in the west are so brainwashed that they do not get how much Poutine has done to average RU people. Most of them really love him and for good reason. Mainstream media, and also big tech, are the enemy of the world. Thank God there at least Odysee allows to share videos and truth about the situation in UK. Rain. The yazis there have been doing the bombing of civilians, blocking them from leaving the human corridors, shooting people like they all would be their enemies. Eventually the truth will come out. There are hundreds of videos of the civilians explaining what has happened.

  689. This is story based game. And the story is objectively HORRIBLE. Everything they tried to pull of was amateurish at best, it was totally inconsistent and lack any other message than "violence is bad, violence begins violence" which would be great for a 7-10 year olds, but here that is ridiculous message until they have some great new insight. Which they certainly don't have. They try to make Abby seem sympathetic, but she actually becomes more psychopathic murderer when she slaughters seraphites as a hobby, and in a moments notice switches and kills his own grew members. She doesn't have any moral compass, just kills whoever opposes her at the very moment. Ellie is almost the same, but not as bad. And so we have two completely horrible main characters that are just psychopathic murderers. Contrast this to Joel who killed to survive or because he wanted to save Ellie. It now feels like their first game was just dumb luck, as it allowed much more complex and deep ethical questions than it seems on the surface. It also asked, and in a way answered, to what is worth saving in humanity and where is the line that you can't cross just to survive. TLOU2 seems to be pointing only one question, why Abby has bigger arms than powerlifting champions in post apocalyptic world. Almost every aspect of the game gets flushed out with horrible decisions. Ellie and Dina relationship could have been really interesting, but having them have sex immediately after they acknowledged any interest towards each others made that potential "love interest story in the mids of violent revenge adventure" became totally flat. Even with the exact elements they had, but in changed orders, this could have been 7 out of 10. Now it's hard to give it more than 5. And most of those points come from graphics, superb audio and voice acting etc. elements of the game, that each deserve 10/10 rating for sure. But just like with Game of Thrones, it's ultimately just garbage. Though I get that many people don't care so much about the story, and all the metaphysical questions that a good story presents. But it was just these aspects that made the 1st game such a masterpiece, and now wasting all the build up, these amazing characters of Joel, Ellie and Tommy, motivation for playing drops completely after you figure out that you are getting revenge story at best. And once you figure out that you must play as Abby and they actually are trying to make you feel for her, it becomes just an insult against intelligence itself. So I think 5/10 is generous from the fans of the previous game.

  706. Trying to get people into alternative platforms is one of the most important things you can do. Odysee for example will download all of your content automatically from Youtube and it's censorship free, also it pays well. Couple channels who I know well get less than 10% of the views of Youtube there, but still get paid better. It's impossible to fix Youtube, so the only possibility is to get enough people on the alternative platforms that important topics will get widespread audience. It really is that simple. Trying to get people into the alt platforms can be achieved by extra content, which could be the content that is impossible to have on Youtube, having videos extra early there, and obviously pleading people to follow you on the alternative platforms. Explaining the benefits to people and why it's important to go to other platforms is key. Though obviously that's perhaps dangerous strategy. It has to be done carefully. In any case eventually Youtube and big tech will censor everything they deem unwanted. Most of the channels I followed are gone, and those that are still here are so watered down that I'm not that interested anymore. The carrot and stick works because people are so afraid to lose what they have. And that's how this system wins. I have been in the IT industry for decades, and could see how the big brother was rising and how ignorant people and businesses were in the early 2000s for the dangers of allowing this insane consolidation of power. Just like happens with pretty much all tech, the promise for the public becomes tools for their oppression. Mostly because people are totally clueless about their enemies.

  712. 97% of scientists are pussies who say they believe in co2 climate change, because they are bullied into that crap. Even if co2 would cause harm, reducing it is essentially pointless because humans produce only under 5% of it, and trying to cut even 2% would collapse the world and cause famines etc. also it's not cost efficient way to handle climate, but media censors other CO2 management methods because those in power actually just want to use this BS to advance their global plans. Green movement in the 2000s has caused much higher CO2 usage. Products are being made to last so small time, and in most products the manufacturing is like half the total energy of lifecycle. So it's a pure scam that makes stock owners and corporations rich, and also allows commoners to buy new things over and over and still believe they are doing something to benefit the climate. But the highest cost is the cost to our environment by the huge increase in resource usage, pollution etc. There are couple of "evidence" groups for co2 climate change, closed source simulations which are as useless as mine "print temp=years*0.02" program, and weak correlations which can be found in everything. For example it seems that there is something horrible in the 1920s because people born in that decade seem to be dying a lot. Or that here in the north, the consumption of ice cream is correlating with the amount of people drowning. I myself am a physicist, and was climate activist until someone I respected opened my eyes. Then I actually started to research the claims, and it's big pile of steaming shite. If it were true, it could be easily proven at least as a concept by some matlab code which shows the effects of CO2 in atmosphere when all the other variables are removed. How much 0.02% increase is actually able to warm the atmosphere, well, clearly not much or the planet would have been burned in pre jurassic era when there was 1500-3000% higher CO2 levels than what we have produced in the last 300 years.

  733.  @lapio8222  It's the same type or realistic as it is to realize that we all die and nothing matters. The point is that those people who look Linux from the perspective of Windows and expect it to work like Windows will never migrate to Linux. And we do not need video series to point that out. You either migrate because of the benefits Linux gives, and in that case the whole thing should be focused on that, or from ideological reasons because free as in freedom software is the only software that doesn't actively try to hamper you down. It's totally new ecosystem, and pointing out "flaws" from the perspective of Windows is dishonest and harmful. Even if it's perhaps realistic from the perspective of someone trying Linux with Windows background. Linus' might think he is helping with pointing those things out, but he is missing the key info, why people would migrate in the first place. This video series could have been great, if there would have been some long term Linux users who get to insert their commentary on things from the point of long term Linux user. As that would separate the good complaints from the bad ones. But one thing is certain, if the only motivation is gaming, no one will migrate to Linux. Gaming is great to have, as it allows much more people to migrate to Linux whose main reason to migrate is somethign else, but they were previously held back by not being able to play games. But I think this series is still bringing Linux into discussion, so I think it's still positive thing.

  741. All corporate medias can be bought, as they are there to make money. Though just installing freemasons etc. puppets in the lead, you can control every media to support whatever agenda. I can't understand how people believe in medias after nine 11. Or how the people that knew it was all faked with medias 100% support are not spreading that knowledge to everybody. Stop consuming corporate media. Most news are not worth knowing. And the things that are worth knowing, media lies. There are enough independent sources and investigators in all important topics and news. Use the time you save by not consuming corporate media by educating yourself. It's the best gift you can do to yourself and all the people you care about. Following media is doing the exact opposite. Corona virus has caused less damage in most countries, even if we believe the official stats that are being completely faked in many countries, than flu in either 2016,2017,2018 or 2019. Just the social distancing and isolation kills more people in most countries, due to suicides, mental illnesses, home violence, worsening physical condition because you don't get exercise etc.. And the amount of money we have lost due to this is 5% of total world GPD, aka World product which is about $92 trillion, is $4.6 trillion. On average it takes about $3 million to save the life of average person that is still under the age of retiring. In Europe it's cheaper, and on other parts of the world it's still much cheaper. Though it gets more expensive due to every life saved, you can't save everybody with money. But as about 61 million people die this year, with $4.5 trillion we could save easily big portion of the deaths in 3rd world countries that are not due to old age, and more young people in the west than are dying to covid in total. Or we could invest that $4.5 trillion into stocks etc. bonds and use only the dividents and eradicate most 3rd world deaths that can be prevented forever, as that $4.5 trillion would produce about $200 billion in pure profits this year, and more every year. So in summary, this destruction to economy would be justified if we expect 1% or more of deaths. As saving someone aged 90 from death saves on average couple of years, but saving someone that dies in childhood to hunger or preventable decease saves on average 70 years, and road/work related accidents kill on average 40 year olds that have another 40 on average to go, as life expectancy is really high if you have made it to 40 already. This is some sort of psyop, and it certainly made billionaires and giant corporations richer and more powerful, while destroying the most important class in working capitalist system, the upper middle class. Those that have small companies and produce most of the jobs, and who use their wealth to support the community, not because they try to be supportive (that's possible too) but because it's the upper middle class that use lots of services and buy domestic products and better quality products. They also pay huge amount of taxes, and much higher proportion to their wealth than the really rich people. As the ruling elite seems to want communistic style two class system, with "slaves" and rulers, this really helped to propagate to that direction. Though we have been moving to that direction for 70 years, constantly accelerating.

  763.  @juangamboa2613  You don't have to use terminal for installing majority of the games and all the games that are rated as working from out of the box mean just that. Push install on game store and that's all you need. Fearing terminal or fearing hacking through terminal are two different things. As if you use "Sudo apt install software" compared to opening browser, searching google for the software (thus typing the name of the software) and then selecting the download file, and finally installing it when it's downloaded, it's just couple of extra letters and much much easier overall. I don't doubt that new OS is fearful. That's the reason why Linux isn't more popular. But the question really is, how much it takes to learn Linux enough to become happy Linux user, and how's the situation with software and games. That is something each must look for their own, as it depends on their needs. But learning the basics is really simple thing and terminal really isn't required. The image that Linux is hard or complicated is based on the fact that Linux people love to tinker with everything, and on the fact that certain device drivers needed hacking in the 2000s. And of course because of disros like Gentoo that are meant for the most hardcore Linux enthusiasts (under 1% of Linux users). But from my perspective, terminal is like the most advanced hot key interface that allows you to change everything. The things people do with it are done with terminal because it's just the most efficient way of doing those things. If there were better ways, Linux enthusiasts would have made it ages ago. No operating system or hardware support all games. If there some games I really wanted to play on Windows that just wouldn't work, I would dual boot to Windows and use Linux in everything else. Not the perfect solution, but at least booting is really fast nowadays.

  789.  @drazpa489  Anybody who says "You do not need..." are almost certainly just telling their opinion and beliefs. And I can understand the logic behind these beliefs, however I have never seen actual evidence of how to maintain project that is certainly in under attack and infiltrators without being harsh. I can't say if his attitude has been unnecessary or not. But I have been wondering the fate of Linux since the late 90s and tried to figure out what kind of method would ensure the best change at this almost impossible task to conquer the desktop and/or survive against the proprietary corporations. Linus at the moment is the only one that has any power and recognition over media. The community doesn't have money or power, so Linus is the only person who actually has some power, and thus if they can't compromise him (which is a big if) he is making it much harder to phuck up things by a million paper cuts. Linus can't be replaced until Linux either changes it's license or that some other person does something amazing to get enough public recognition and respect from the community and users. How this happens, beats me, but I sure hope it will, because otherwise I feel that the ironically far left companies like Microsoft and Google will take control over Linux. Guess if that helps Linux to move into desktop space? And almost certainly they will find a way to monetize Linux servers. I think Satan is more reliable and trustworthy than giant tech corporations, and anyone that actually research the history of these corporations have to agree. Or just use plain logic, these corpses have no conscience and they are only about maximizing profits.
    2
  790.  @drazpa489  I'm not going to paraphrase my comment, so bear with me. Giant corporations are run by people that are essentially far-left. Modern media is far left, Google is far left. Though what most understand by the left-right axis is wrong. But I wont even try to convince you for this, but I humbly suggest looking into this. While media isn't that interested in Torvalds, at least he is recognized and lots of people give credit to him, more than he deserves though, for creating Linux. At least his voice can be heard by enough people. What are the mechanisms of maintaining order in open source projects? Within corporations this is quite simple, but within open source it's a whole another story. I'm not claiming that everything Linus says is necessary, but on the other hand if we look at his accomplishes and look if there are anything that even comes close to Linux kernel, well, that says something. Also we have to remember that his mails are public, what happens in corporations and other projects is mostly hidden from us. I would argue that there is no giant in any industry that has become that way by being nice. There are many ways how corporations can phuck up Linux desktop even with GPL. Microsoft is not contributing to Linux to help it become popular desktop. Microsoft has history of hijacking companies, like Nokia, it's what they have always done. While the exact same methods wont work with Linux, they have many other long term possibilities. I'm hoping everything will go great with Linux, no matter if Linus retires or not, and no matter of corporations in the mix. I really do, because I don't want to use anything but free and open software and services.

  808.  @Kaiserin_Amy  NO, the quality issues are recent and had nothing to do with gameworks, though maybe thats another issue. Drivers optimize things totally differently, and it truly sucks that there are so little image quality comparisons, after all it was a major feature in 3dmark once upon a time. I actually don't mind these optimizations, but I hate the fact that Nvidia sells so much more GPUs because it has FPS advantage over this, and nowhere reviewers take the time to test the image quality or even just explain that there are differences. The whole RX 5500 XT with 8gb of GDDR6 made with 7nm costs 215€ with taxes. AMD is targeting 45% margin at least. 2080ti die costs more, and additional components + 3gb more of GDDR6 costs more, but in any case the manufacturing price certainly isn't over 300€. As you stated, it's not about any engineers or employees, it's purely about the fact that gamers are idiots willing to pay ridiculous amounts for getting just a little more FPS. That's why AMD is following, and the whole PC gaming is slowly going extinct as even the midrange GPUs are costing too much for vast amount of worlds population and consoles give the same performance for fraction of the price. Nvidia can charge so much because they are foremost a marketing company that has carefully manipulated people believing all kinds of shit. And because AMD sucked at marketing, now it's getting little better. I have followed these companies from the mid 90s and it just amazes me how well Nvidia has managed to get the mindshare. Since 1080ti it's been understandable though, but I never understand why people are defending soulless billion dollar corporations.
    2
  809.  @Kaiserin_Amy  AMD had shitty drivers for a while. Now many techtubers prefer AMD's drivers. Professionals buy Nvidia because money is no problem for them, and buying faster GPU even if it costs much more is still justifiable. While all corporations are soulless, there are huge differences in corporate cultures. That makes huge difference for a variety of reasons. Shitty things that are profitable for Intel for example would be horrible for AMD. Nvidia producing proprietary standards in every way possible is something that I hate. And their support for Linux and open source in general was horrible, now it's better though. While 2080ti has much bigger die than 5500xt, it's on fully mature node that is much cheaper and has much slower failure rate. 5500xt with it's 8gb of GDDR6 probably costs about 120€ to make. So PCB, components, GDDR6 isn't that expensive for giant corporations. Image quality issue is due to Nvidia's architecture and driver optimizations. One reason is bandwidth optimization by compression etc. which are all techniques that I like, but anything that effects quality is giving unfair advantage when comparing FPS. And FPS is the main factor for 95% of gamers, so no wonder they are doing everything to gain on that regards. I check if I can find one article that explored the drivers/architecture/optimizations and the effects for quality. While at the moment I really like AMD kicking Intel in the balls, I'm not AMD fanboy. I want honest competition from many companies. I want CPUs and GPUs to become as fast as possible and as affordable as possible. One thing that I truly love about Nvidia is that they introduced Tensor cores. And I like many things about them actually, while I also hate many things they do. But mainly I hate their unbelievable mindshare, which is AMD's fault as well though.

  820. You should instead research a little and realize that flat earth is a psyop made so that people would think people talking about things that media portrays as conspiracies are insane. Obviously 0.01% might believe something that stupid, but there was NONE of this debate in the forums, then suddenly in month every forum had just flat earth BS. The fact that this is known by common people just shows how massive project this was. And instead of "trying to convince" people should try to actually research and question their own opinions. The ocean levels have not risen in the last 15 yrs. If there were global warming, the speed of the ocean level rising should just accelerate. Everything the cult of global warming has pushed is BS and anyone with some knowledge on physics and math can find it out by just looking the research papers. Those are not worth the paper they are printed. Look what the opposition is saying, aka those scientists that didn't sell their soul, as in the 90s vast majority was behind the proof that Co2 could never raise temps on earth, infact it causes the atmosphere to cool and that's why higher temps on earth raise Co2 levels on delay, and then atmosphere starts to cool down. Massive Co2 emissions from super volcanoes or event of that caliber are different thing entirely. Everything is really based on the computer simulations that are done on closed source software (why the hell you should ask as this makes it anti-science) so we are basing this purely on the fact that simulation we don't know about is right. Anyone who really understands physics should realize that we can't trust even open source simulations, though at least in that case we could take it more seriously. If Co2 would be the cause, then what would be the solution? Everything we do in that case is wrong. There's nothing we do that has any effect on Co2 levels, but we are causing damage to economy, development of tech etc. but at the same time we are making the bankers gain control of all the wealth. Limit the economic growth through is the same as giving everything to bankers. There's multiple times more debt than there's money, so the only solutions are to get rid of private central banks, or to have economic growth through technical innovations as that increases the amount of money in circulation and thus reduces the relative debt per wealth. But the society has turned into different cliques whose ideology are weaponized towards the whole population. These people think they are fighting for something good, but as almost always is the case, the opposite is the truth. Especially intelligent people, who have not accumulated wisdom, are the usual suspects. I was like that. I was climate activist, then I finally started to think "Why the ocean level on our beach on family house hasn't increased at all" and actually started to look what the opposition has to say.

  853. @What ? Breaking Bad isn't about chemistry. It's about human nature and psychology etc. Every TV show is full of ridiculous and impossible things. It's just that most normies can be fooled to think the show resembles some sort of reality. On BB the thing that is real is the psychology and characters, and their decisions. Not all metals are magnetic. Also you can't blow up a car by lighting the gas tank, you can't make gasoline light up by cigarette, or make fuel tank blow up or catch fire by shooting it. All TV from start to finish is full of shite like these, either directly physical impossibilities or psychological ones which I hate the most. BB doesn't have these, and it's focused on that, so I love it. Hank isn't stupid. If you have known someone your whole life and think him as nerd emasculated family man, it's pretty impossible to think him being scarface. Also Hank didn't think Walter won millions, just enough to buy car wash. If you get a call about your wife being in car accident and air lifted to a near hospital, you either believe it to be a fake or not. The caller being female who managed to say the right things would easily make you believe it's true. After all your number is certainly private and not attained by anyone but officials and relatives. I have watched BB for half a dozen times at least, and while there are many things that requires lots of luck, there isn't any plot holes except impossible chemistry. Even the explosion on Tuco's is close to being possible, though it would have broken their ears. Otherwise you can survive pretty big explosions. The things I hate about BB are when the mexican brothers blow up the gasoline tank, and when walter blow up his gasoline tank. So I understand how you feel. Lydia used the last stevia on the table, planted by Walt, and asked for more. You should binge watch BB and focus on the characters and their psyche. I only fell in love with this show after I had once watched it already because I knew to focus on what's actually important and great on this show.

  854. @What ? Walt losing his mind doesn't even connect with him being meth dealer, not one bit. Also he was losing his family, and had cancer still. Hank called for backup + warrent. He followed Jessie, so he had right to be there. Hank and Gomes could have had either some judge friend give them access, much of this planning happened offscreen, or they could have just tracked the phone without a permit. Though I don't even know if they need a permit to follow a phone, having lines tabbed is a different thing. As I said in every comment, chemistry is used as a plot device. Every show is full of impossibilities on every level. Having chemistry as a plot device doesn't bother almost anybody. Tuco's scene used chemistry as plot device for a bomb sized in a way that trashes a room and blows windows. That kind of explosion would not cause anything but broken ears if people are not directly on the blast. Skyler changed the locks on early S3 and neighbor went there in late S4. Either they changed locks back, or gave new key to their neighbor. Even if the equipments to make the bomb were on the kitchen, who would have knew what those were. Tuco's house, either Tuco gave them the stuff back, or more likely his uncle took them so he could revenge Tuco's death. That's why he knew Walter White when the Salamanca brothers came to his retirement home. Walt had to rely to luck when he entered neo nazis place. He knew the place from before, and knew how to park. They thought he was coming to teach them and get money, so why would they look at the trunk. BB has lots of scenes that are based on luck and co-incidences. Normally I don't like that kind of stuff, but on BB the focus is purely on the characters and their psyche and mistakes. And also on the fact how our actions come to bite us, and how things have butterfly effect. Walt became completely egomaniac after S4, and having a book is just the type of mistake that intelligent criminals might make. There are no plot holes on BB, it's just based on luck and co-incidences to tell it's story. You are clearly watching the show differently if you think these kinds of things on that show. It's like someone would trash GOT because dragons and white walkers are impossible. This example is hyperbole, but it explains that to enjoy a certain show, you need to look it a certain way. GOT ain't police drama or show like that, where things happening offscreen would certainly be shitty and distracting. My point here is that I understand where your feelings come from. One impossibility on BB, on the first scene you see Walt's pants flying in the air, and only after that we can see the RV coming from that same direction. So it's 100% impossible, and they of course knew it. It's there because the reason is to arouse emotions and it works. Rewatch the show, it's really is worth it. I watched it on TV and stopped on 2nd season, then I binged it completely, and only on my 2nd binge watching I truly fell in love with the show when I learned how to watch it.

  867.  @FABESTAH  As someone in his 40s who never used to do sports, starting gym was horrendous :D Pure physical and mental torture for the first month. Then you could see that you lift much more than before, but it took quite a lot of time to see the results in the mirror. But once that time happened, then it truly started to become enjoyable. So while I agree that Linux and especially Gentoo takes a longer time to get that enjoyment, especially as you cannot know for certain that eventually you will be having fun, it still is the same thing in principle. Gentoo is mainly for hobby reasons, but for someone who has a business where there are enough computers to maintain, and where you could have the same compiled binaries for all the machines, Gentoo could provide pretty robust platform. Or if you sell service that runs on Raspberry PIs or small systems like that, you could have Gentoo based system installed and just allow direct binary download from your own server. I don't personally know how it's being done thought. I just know that on my 8yo old dual core laptop I have Ubuntu Mate, and Gentoo Mate, and the difference on performance is insane. It's much bigger than I ever could have anticipated. Also on virtual machine I have made Gentoo that has window managed "desktop" running with otherwise all the newest kernel and software, taking 55mb of RAM when fully loaded and terminal is running on the "desktop." So Gentoo might allow pretty nice opportunities for small amount of businesses that benefit from reduced resource usage but who also have enough hardware to run to make the work feasible.

  896.  @MC_DesmondSparrs  IRC is still a thing. Though I don't know how much is used. I guess it is just a perfect tool for certain things and people never ditched it. It's quite common to have different periods with Linux. Usually the first thing is the distrohopping. I skipped the visual ricing phase, I had that with Windows XP, but especially I had that with Amiga 1200. Do me a favor and look how amazing Amiga 1200 desktops were. That machine was a pure potato on the CPU and RAM front, but damn the half ROM half software based workbench was AMAZING. Obviously you could install Gentoo without DE, but the feeling you'll get with full DE is absolutely different. Easiest way to get DE is to install Mate-meta package that will install the minimal Mate desktop. If you have already working CLI, you should get the DE working with quite ease. Gentoo's handbook and manuals are great, though the indexing is not the best. So I suggest using google for finding those articles on display managers etc. whatever you are looking. When you get your first DE and have compiled your browser from source (you can install binary to save time as Firefox takes long time to compile. Also you can have Brave in binary form by adding overlay), and you check if Youtube works, and the video, sound, everything just works, it's heaven. But you'll feel scared that you'll break things for a long long time still. You might feel that you'll never feel as safe with the OS than with other distro. But in couple months you realize that you trust that OS in some ways more than on anything else. That's when you know you have found your home.

  910. Equality = ignoring the two of the four biggest powers on the planet, sexuality and procreation. Third one is physical power, which is almost completely irrelevant nowadays in western world, because using force is outlawed and there is no monetary value in having physical power. It raises your sexual value though. Fourth one is intelligence. All other forms of power are accumulated by using these. So why are men getting more money and more power positions? Is our society denying the change from women? At the moment western societies have lots of laws to tip the scale towards women being helped. The benefits they have in divorces, better social security etc. for single parents, which almost always are women unless they willingly give up their children. So why men have more money and power? Because women have more total power, men have to try to get more power to be worthy. And only small percentage of men have more power than women. Equality is not the same as equal amount of power. It's actually very far from it. It's cancer ideology. Equal amount of power creates the most amount of happiness to most amount of people. And by equal amount I mean that when dividing all the men and women in 100 groups based on their power, they have close to the same amount that the men/women on their respective group has. Though focusing who has the most power in the top 1% or so is irrelevant here. This just explains that when men and women have the same amount of total power, their relationships are usually the most satisfying for both of them. And the problem here lies in the fact that sexuality and procreation are huge powers, and the more liberated (though I would say trashed) sex becomes, the more powerful these powers become.

  932. Leftist ideologies will stop at nothing. After full victory, everyone at complacent, they will start just canceling people just like Stalin did. Total lunatics are in control, should we ban the word black alltogether? Should we erase the history books and call slaves and pets for the rich non colored people? I have never connected in my 30 yrs in tech the words master and slave into anything but technology or words like whilelist or blacklist to anything but what they really mean by the context. Changing the narrative, erasing words, changing the meaning of words, it's the method how secret societies with their esoteric traditions have controlled and slowly changed the minds of people into what they want them to be. We think only with words, so the ability to change the meaning of words is mass brainwashing. This has happened to so many words during my lifetime, and it has nothing to do with helping minorities or removing inequalities, it's all about getting more control to shape the humanity in the image that these people want. And it concerns everybody, allowing this lunacy to continue and not speaking up, or at least not doing things like switching to alternative platforms is total obedience and thus it only worsens the situation. But the most important thing would be to realize how important words are, how our whole reality is build upon the meaning of words. Our whole upper conscious mind can be coded like computer by changing the meaning of words or how we feel about certain words. At first it might sound ridiculous, and researching it might be quite hard, but soon it will be your second nature and you'll see all the brainwashing that happens through media.

  936. +TheStockwell - I avoid nutty myths. I like physics and math, studied those subjects since I was in gradle. The worst myth is Santa Claus, if we determine myths by physics and math. Nanosecond with every child and light speed reindeers, and still it would be totally impossible. Second myth is Apollo moon mission. It just SO embedded in our collective souls that you really need to have some authority to tell some evidence to you before you start researching it. To me it was my math professor in university, whole information spread through universities in the 60s and 70s. Infact, every single aspect of that mission is impossible. Getting 1.5% loads to 200miles up (Gemini) is pretty different thing than getting 100% loads to the moon, added with huge amount of fuel for getting back (required fuel for takeoff grows exponentially by added payload). I wont bother you with all the impossible parts. But I say couple of things. 1. “It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” - Mark Twain 2. Most people dont want to know the truth, at least at the subconscious level, that dictates us all. If you truly want to know the truth, you need to get in mental state that you believe what ever you are researching to be the truth. Only then your brains are not working against you. If however what you research is BS, you have not lost your previous knowledge. You really dont need to be afraid. One way to investigate this subject is to search "Kubricks Odyssey one", or watch the part of it from the previous clip, that has Richard Hoagland describing his research on code. He really doesnt believe his conclusions, but thats his way of not getting killed. The clip is at horrible resolution, but that part doesnt require quality. I sincerely hope you want to know the truth, watch that and research the subject if your eyes become wide open. And pass on the knowledge gently, because this subject will make people ashamed and thus their subconscious tries to protect them from that shame. This proves without any doubt, through mathematics, that its all fake. It was one of the first evidence that was spread, until media started pushing "moving flags, shadows" etc that can be at least argued with, and so that people would think the whole conspiracy is all about that. When infact it was about the best possible evidence there can be, mathematics. Physics is as good, but this mathematical evidence is something everybody will understand. No wonder it has never been in any discussion on any TV show or media. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPqROrDwEeQ

  945.  @guilherme5094  Politics phucks up everything. Though it seems that conservatives are right. One of the most important things I have learned is the power of words, and the capability of manipulation through words. Science is one of those words. What does it mean? It's used for brainwashing and justification of insanity more than anything else, but the word really seems to mean scientific consensus and what people think is scientific consensus is determined by organizations that are owned by big old money. Scientific method is another thing, but that's being used only in things that doesn't interest those with power, or if they know truth is on their side. Gender is a word that we could just ignore, instead we could just use the word sex and forgot that lunacy altogether. Everything brainwashed by Al Gore and the climate alarmists have been so absolutely wrong, unscientific garbage, and even the methods of solving what they believe in is completely not working useless and easily shown. Even if everything they say is real, even getting rid of whole humanity wouldn't solve anything. Let alone anything that could keep billions alive. Only advancing science would help. Producing constantly more green tech has caused resource usage, fossil fuel usage, and Co2 production to raise faster than ever. And more importantly majority of these techs are now produced in china that causes 80% of worlds coal Co2 emissions, and even larger amount of pollution as they use worse quality more polluted coal and doesn't have good filtering. Green movements are like terrorist organizations, they do not care about anything green related, at least the organizations themselves and their agendas, they just use that to cause social change in the west. Aka they are pure cancer. I personally am environmentalist, love nature and think instead of using trillions for useless Co2 reduction schemes, we should use it to clean rivers, lakes, protect rainforests etc. that we actually could do and which have huge effects on ecology. But expecting anything good from authorities is like expecting love from prostitute.

1003.  @bluesbr0ther588  NASA, the irony or you trusting NASA. And no, I'm not flat earther, I know perfectly well that there are no flat earthers but damn was there a massive psyop. Years, no one talked about flat earth, then in couple of weeks majority of channels got 50% of the posts and comments being flat earth. After the conversation died in 6 months or so, then all of the flat earth people disappeared instantly. The language they use shows they are not different people with different backgrounds. Apollo footage is done with frontscreen projection. There's so much false physics in the footage, moving dust slowing down mid air and forming cloud is the simplest to find. The parallax shows the background doesn't move, it's about 50m behind the camera. And the background is frontscreen projection canvas. You can prove this by increasing gamma and contrast which brings up geometric patterns on the blackness of space. You can see the same patterns in all of the footage, without the dimensions changing. Thus it cannot be the camera (would be impossible even otherwise, but just to be thorough) or the film. It's probabilistic proof, thus the chance of it being there just because of random noise, is in the range of winning lottery every week for a trillion years. In reality it's actually much smaller than that, but the point is clear. Essentially you are just saying "I trust Nasa" and that's your proof. Even if they haven't lied ever, that's still just pure belief, but NASA being one of the least trustworthy organization in the planet, and you'll see the problem. Also I would like you to check out what kind of sea level rising numbers Al Gore and the other alarmist used to push. The whole fear comes from these lunatic alarmist who benefit billions upon billions on this BS. Perhaps other organizations have more reasonable numbers, but if we would have went with those numbers, people would have realized the whole thing is irrelevant. People in fear have the logical skills of a small child in hysteria. And when there's been decades already where those who study anything global warming related get lots of funding and other support from universities, then no wonder there's always those who sell their soul. But there's also lots of people who expose these lies, even though they have been fired (without there being issues with their science), blacklisted, censored and killed by the lunatic activists. I have gone through most of the research there was before 2015 (or close to that) and yet there is nothing that actually even hints that we have Co2 global warming. Though we see incredible amount of absolute trash science where the outcome has been chosen and then the statistical method that comes closest to that conclusion is chosen. There's no example on how much Co2 would warm the planet in simplified long term planet. Aka you have planet that's 100% water over a rock surface. What would the different temps over time become on different Co2 levels. That is something that everyone could calculate on Matlab etc. just publish the exact algorithms. But no, we have to believe in closed source simulations. Surely it must be 100% working physics without any reason to lie.

1008.  @anotheruserism  I'm generally not interested on conspiracies that don't have either mathematical or physics based evidence. For example JFK assassination and 911 are one of the easiest things to prove to be inside jobs based on physics. I don't care about politics as politicians are the actors, when the director, producer, screenwriters etc. are behind the curtains. But to tell you one possible example of what could be the mission of Trump, wasting time. First 4 years people supported him, allowed things to happen in the background without taking actions. Now we wait another 4 years in the hopes of Trump changing things when he finally gets his position back. Then another 4 years will pass and in the meantime the cabal can build their iron grip and AI technocracy. That's one possibility, there are lots of other possibilities too. But hoping for savior is the sure way to never get saved. I didn't assume you haven't read research papers, I just have done so myself, for years. And it's just statistical jerking, it's not science, it's manipulation. I would prefer global warming over cabal controlling the world so tight that they can hijack the whole world based on lies. But as I have been researching conspiracies and secret societies etc. I have made lots of friends and some are from insider families, some ex-freemasons, and some current freemasons. Mostly really intelligent, educated and wise people. The consensus is pretty clear, except with those that still are in the club, they push the global warming like there's no tomorrow, but they cannot provide evidence and they forcefully stop the conversation when evidence on the contrary is provided. And it was climate scientists, physicists etc. who opposed co2 global warming in the 90s. And the evidence is clear. Al Gore's fear mongering was absolute BS. It's so anti-science as anything can be.

1012. @Aditya Chavarkar You have been brainwashed too much to even know what conspiracy is, and thus what conspiracy theory is. I have studied conspiracies for nearly two decades, a lot of those can be proven to be right by just physics and math, then there are those conspiracies like NSA spying everyone that has been proven otherwise. Completely crappy controlled "conspiracies" like current flat earth movement (well it lasted about a year and died away) was done by alphabet boys. Suddenly all truther forums had just flat earth people and postings, they created documentaries with huge amount of money, and the leader was ex CIA member. Then they all suddenly vanished. These are made so that normal people would think anything weird to them must be like "flat earth" and to make them fear anything that media calls "conspiracy theory". I only care about truth, I can promise you that. But governments lie so much that the smart bet would be against what they tell. Still I don't make up my mind on anything unless I have really good proofs. And I'm willing to change my opinions based on better evidence etc. but in case of most conspiracies, when you know the physics and math, the only thing that could change those events would require all physics to suddenly stop working on those events. When you are intelligent enough, educated enough on math and physics, and then spend huge amounts of time in researching all sorts of events and history, the truth kind of becomes obvious. Or the "cloud of possible truths" as in many cases you only know what certainly didn't happen. This documentary wasn't good. It was clearly made to other kind of people. So I'm not defending that. The topics that it touched however are really interesting when you deep dive within them.

1015.  @ripp102  Whole Internet runs on Linux, most servers, routers, everything runs on Linux. Sure any system can in theory have a virus, on practice however Linux is in completely different universe when it comes to security. It's because the whole kernel is designed fundamentally to be secure as hell. Even if some parts would be compromised, the damage any virus could do would be minimal. Open source model also makes the code much much safer, as there are huge amount of people investigating the sources and trying to find exploits. Linux is already everywhere, so if it would kill Windows, I think only ransomware etc. might start to pop up. If you turn all security hardening options on, it takes NSA type of resources and talent to get any malware to that machine. Sure some packages will be found to have weaknesses that could be exploited, but Linux is like a fortress with dozen inner walls. You get some ground by breaking through one wall. Getting kernel level access is impossible (and here using that word really is appropriate) and without root access you can cause only minor damage, aka you have broken through one wall of that fortress. Windows is also better than it used to be. Win 3.1 and 95 crashed constantly. Win 95 would crash almost certainly once per day for average user. 98 improved this a little. In 2000 they finally changed the kernel to NT and it actually managed to be stable. XP didn't improve things until SP2. And Vista was a meme. Win 10 has improved on the kernel department, but on the other hand it was the reason when I completely migrated to Linux. I couldn't stand the UI and the updates that could install whenever they wanted and those updates could phuck up my whole install of Win 10. Linux is pure freedom in every sense. You can easily drop all things from your kernel that you don't want or need, change settings to make it either have less latency or more throughput, have more security or faster system. And that is as easy as to use registry edit in Windows.

1019. PS5 at 2.23ghz on pretty much all silicon, as they can't bin or reject working chips. Extrapolate that to 80CU, add binning process, full EUV node, and slightly lower base clock and slightly higher boost clocks. That beats 3080 which is only 30-35% above 2080ti, thus lower than leaks rumored in the winter. What's their final product, do they want to go to pricewar, do they push clocks no matter the TDP like Nvidia did. I don't know. Nvidia's real performance was actually slight disappointment, but their marketing was once again easily the best of the industry. Comparing everything to 2080 instead of 2080ti completely changed their results as 2080ti has 35% higher TFLOPS than 2080, and 38% higher memory bandwidth. 3080 has 3080ti die, 3090 has titan die. But changing the names allow to create feeling of dominance and comparing to products that really are different categories. Lowering the prices allowed this change, and this way they make lots of people make their purchasing decision before Navi comes out. Even though they most likely have to wait due to Samsung's yield being quite poor, and they most likely have to pay higher prices (2080ti was "just" $999 at launch) and benchmarks probably are going to be slightly disappointing when the reviews really come out. But once you have made the decision, you stick with it. That's marketing 101. So lowering the prices was 10/10 move. This move was necessary because Big Navi. That's why Jensen really looked worried, not the kind of smug that he usually is. So wait for BIG NAVI. At least don't preorder before independent reviews.

1048. @Lassi Kinnunen 81 And again the people argue against physics and math. When you know how phucking easy making of those photos and videos are, you'll find this story to be like Santa Claus. "It had to be true as who else would have given me and my friends all of these gifts. And Santa visited us both every Christmas", it pretty much is like that. Drones are million times easier to send to moon. Because it's all about the payload, the weight of the rocked explodes when payload grows as chemical fuel is so horrible for the job. Slightly higher payload means ridiculously higher amount of needed fuel. Which leads to more rigid rockets which leads to more needed fuel etc. The moonlanding footage is absolutely shite. There's no need for research to create that shit. Again, watch the videos to get how easy that is. If we have any real footage from the moon, I don't know. As why would they show the stupid public anything real when they can have more power by showing lies. But again this topic has nothing to do with the faked mission. I could believe they went to the moon even prior with better tech that is controlled by military, not NASA. And I think this is quite likely even, I would give it 40% chance. Do you believe that 911 was terrorist attack and not false flag demolition job? Who blew the basements before the CGI planes? Who blew the building as you can hear and see the explosions. Also that's filled with impossible physics and other completely contradictory evidence. Why do you think all the world is behind this lie decades later after Apollo program when it's 100X harder to hide things in the age of the internet, mobile phones, digital cameras etc. Also JFK assassination requires just to look the map that shows where JFK was and where Oswald was to prove it 100% through Newton's laws of motion that it couldn't have been Oswald even in theory. Still the same shit lie is broadcasted everywhere. Tons of people all over the world said moon landing is impossible even before the mission. Lots of physicist and engineers who calculated it to be impossible as the payload is too high. Let alone that the lander hasn't been tested more than once, and it almost killed one astronaut. Landing on vacuum moon is ridiculously hard. After the mission lots of cosmonauts said it was faked mission, but Soviets silenced them. Same happened all over. And controlled medias pushed just the lies. People who spoke the truth disappeared. Hollywood has been putting the faked mission in the movies and TV shows since the beginning. 007 Diamonds are forever have scene that shows precisely the methods. Stanley Kubrick hide all the impossible physics and how they faked it in tons of little details on The Shining. The parallax have nothing to do with the stars but the background mountains etc. that doesn't move. It's well studied fact and known since the 70s. Also the frontscreen projection is absolutely mathematically proven, among all the other fingerprints that prove it. If you actually care to know the truth, please watch those videos and if you still have questions come back. I don't bother listing my credentials, as it just seems to make people think I'm a liar. But I say I know my physics and math, and have researched Apollo hoax, 911 and secret societies for about a decade on and off. I have HDDs filled with material, most of which I also share through P2P networks.

1068.  @denis5940-s6v  Pretty much Windows games just work on Linux now. Certain anti-cheat games are due to be working soon as Linux kernel adds support for certain win32 API calls to make those work, it also allows higher performance, though it's really good since last years big driver changes. I have installed Linux for about a dozen computers without any hardware problems, though one USB wifi didn't work. Gaming peripheral support was poor, but the Linux gaming boom (vs. what it was previously) has improved that tremendously. Printers and scanners are something I don't know about, except my Samsung multifunction laser printer works OK, but it really is device per device thing. No OS does it all. Windows does the most, but really old games, really old hardware and emulators and you'll be better of with Linux. When you start to use Linux, first it's the excitement of new thing, then you start to be frustrated because you need to learn alot and there will be issues because you are new user. But then it again keeps getting better and better. For me it continued for at least 3-4 yrs. Then it slowed down, until I moved to Gentoo. Then my love for Linux grew in another levels. It's horrible problem, you need to convince someone to learn new thing that will get better and better while you learn it. But it slowly will and you just cannot use Windows after certain point. If you have powerful CPU, you could install Windows in virtual machine, strip it from every useless service etc. and save a snapshot that you restart every time. Then just install new updates once in awhile and have another snapshot. If you have Intel iGPU then you can pass through the GPU 100% to that VM with native performance. VM uses little more CPU, but usually you are GPU bound anyway. Host all the files on another partition outside of that VM, but allow VM to map that partition as it were part of the VM. I used to have windows as VM, it was great. But then I switched jobs and that allowed me to get away from Windows completely. It's not easy job, so be sure if you want to commit to that. But Linux communities are full of helpful people that will gladly help if you have issues. Linux gives you freedom, so it allows you to break it. Things like changing DE isn't as simple as some people say it is, though it's doable but do some googling before doing that. Especially with rolling release distros like Manjaro, you might come to situation that seems like you broke your Linux, when infact one command would fix it all. Though even this sort of problems are becoming rare nowadays.

1070.  @denis5940-s6v  The main point is that you shouldn't try Linux and not actually look if you could fix things, because getting certain things fixed is only 1 time deal and then it works forever. I'm not gamer myself, but I'm really interested in Linux gaming as that's the way to get people migrating. And I want enough users to get Linux native version on software like Photoshop. Based on what I have heard from at least half a dozen of sources is that over 80% of games should work, and it's constantly growing. Getting the initial Wine, proton etc dependencies working might be hassle but after that everything should work fine. Keyboard mapping can be changed from the control panel, wifi is almost certainly using open source drivers and need closed source firmware to operate well (one package install solves this forever). Scanner requires certain packages and after that it works, though software for printing/scanning in general requires improvement on Linux. Capture card in the worst case requires compiling the driver, but that you also have to do once. Tiny change is that there's no driver at all, but this far I have found driver in source code for everything. As I said in the previous comment, this "I try Linux" in general at large spreads the hate towards the system. You get all the initial learning curve errors and most likely no one to help you except on online forums, and things that are awesome and what really makes the system cannot be understood or experienced yet. Like the fact that you can change literally everything to maximize your workflow, and perfect updates that happen on the background without need to restart (unless it's new kernel, though kernel livepatching is also possible on certain distros). Thus you only get shitty taste in the beginning and thing Linux users are masochists, that it represents the user experience on the long run. People should at least try to live with the system for month or so. Otherwise it's like you are given new Corvette, but you have yet to learn that you need to push gas in the tank to make it working and put air into the tires, and to turn AC on to not be baked alive, and then you need to learn to drive too as you don't know how to drive yet. After month or so you have at least some understanding. Not saying you personally should do this, but in general it's better to not try at all than to do a short review as the system is so much more complex with hundred distros, dozens of DEs and endless amounts of combinations of packages, that it might need some work in the beginning. But then it works just like a car that has air in it's tires and gas in it's tank, and driver who can drive and turn on AC. To me Windows is the limiting factor. Especially on the long term usage. If I would have to use it, I would use it in virtual machine snapshots, and I would have direct GPU pass through for native GPU performance. But I tried it once in a while for well over a decade before I switched. In general I wouldn't suggest Linux for gamers unless they are tech savvy and ready for committing for being with the system at least for a month.

1071.  @denis5940-s6v  Those who dual boot probably dual boot because they are playing a lot of competitive games that require anti-cheat to work. Anti-cheat protected games have poor compatibility, but otherwise it really is in the 80% range. That should change within a year because they are introducing ways to have Win API system calls in the kernel that direct that call to Wine, thus allowing anti-cheat software to work. I can't explain it the best way, but I have read enough that I understand how it works. This number comes from written reports on the top 1000 most popular games or so. On Steam's top 1000 games, 6% don't work, 1.6% didn't have reports, and the 92% should work and 78% should work "perfectly after tweaks". And I really only consider those "should work perfectly after tweaks" as really working. protondb.com is where I looked, I don't remember if you already talked about looking there or not? Also dual booting is simple. Some seem to hate it, but current systems reboot in a heartbeat so I don't see any problems with that. But for someone who plays a lot, and who hasn't learned to love Linux yet, there just isn't any point on that and that I get completely. If I had multiple computers, then having dedicated gaming machine makes sense. Having all your gaming related on one machine would make sense even if you were running Linux on that machine, I would have really different Linux environment for gaming vs. normal usage. Not because gaming wouldn't be good on my current system, but because I would optimize that system for gaming, from the UI point of view and from the kernel, drivers, etc. point of view. If you have AMD CPU (non G version) then certainly GPU pass through would require another GPU. I personally run my laptop with iGPU even though it has GPU, but I don't need the added performance in anything on my laptop, iGPU is plenty fast enough. Obviously there's no point on buying GPU for that. If there's lying around another old GPU, then maybe installing that for the Linux. Pretty much everyone says Manjaro is the best distro for gaming, never packages, drivers and kernel. And people seem to praise on that. Though PopOS is recommended because of it's simplicity. I doubt it has any big difference. Though I like the rolling release model better myself, though it might require the user to roll back updates at some point and to wait for those updates to get patched. I have heard many people loving Manjaro Linux, but they switched back to Linux because they "broke the system and could fix it" when one command would have fixed the issue. Then these people start trashing Linux as unreliable, crappy etc. and I get that how the hell they are suppose to know what to do. Identifying even simple problems is massively hard at first. So I don't recommend rolling release distros to new people because of that possibility, unless I know they are talented enough, or are someone I know who could as my personal help. It seems that we have quite the same kind of history. I started playing with windows from 92, build my own computer in 1994 and started building computers for others couple years later. I first saw Linux in 1994 right after 1.0 was released and laughed about that stupid project. In 2002 my friend switched to Debian Linux and I absolutely loved that OS though it was way too much work back then for me to get interested in it, and I loved gaming back then. Perhaps tested Linux 5-6 times from 2003 to 2016 when I finally migrated and stopped using Windows altogether. But in 2019 I moved to Gentoo Linux, and that is where the journey ends. There's no more low level Linux. The point here is that I get how hard moving to Linux is and it might be too big sacrifice to make. But every year things improve, so based on your story I think you'll be running Linux at some point =) It has been nice chatting =)

1079.  @Yasinets  So MSM told you that Russia started the war? And you believed MSM? Yazis couped power as see IA helped. Crimea, that has been Russian territory for ages and is mostly Russian people living there, voted on joining Russia. There was no war, nothing. Donbass have been part of Russia also, almost fully Russian speaking people there, who already has got tons of hate from Ukraine. They wanted to break free from Ukraine also. There are about 3 million people on LPR and DPR area, they fought against the yazi battalions, Uk. rain military was only in support role. The war was started by Uk. rain against Donbass oblast that voted to separate from Uk. rain. If Russia helped that has been so minimal that the people there even don't know about that. But in any case the war was started by Uk. rain against Donbass, and immediately they started slaughtering people who participated in the voting process. Western MSM have been broadcasting PURE LIES about this war. Russia didn't come, it was already in Crimea as their base is there and ~17k military personel. People have been sucking MSM lies so much that they just can't handle the truth. Because of these forces there was no war. People already knew Uk. rains mission against Russian people and because crimea was full of Russian people they voted on joining Russia. Those that cry about this not being legal are just total fools who know nothing about Ukraine and the horrible state it's in. Nor do they care. They have been programmed to hate russia for decades and that's the driving force.

1087.  @Vargur1981  I would almost certainly say that the main owners forced the game to be released at Christmas, or Nvidia who managed to block AMD Ray Tracing, have DLSS, and have AMD CPUs all be optimized to Bulldozer that doesn't have AVX2 (massively important ISA) and not use half the threads because of Bulldozers have no SMT support. Execs must know that this move was going to backfire. They already had the preorders, releasing broken and horribly looking game on consoles would certainly not sell games when gameplay gets open to public. This wasted the potential of this multibillion dollar franchise. For Nvidia this is different thing, as they needed something to fight against AMD's RDNA2, and this is the perfect game for that. Wouldn't put it past to Intel to have their money in the pot to trash AMD CPUs. Or it's the biggest owners. So many horrible decisions are forced by owners who absolutely have no understanding on the business and effects of those decisions. And they also know they can get away without a blame. I can see execs doing this only if they would have lost bonuses if the game doesn't come out before Christmas of 2020, or something similar direct monetary motives. But I don't think for a second that they actually thought this would get the most sells out of the game, as it makes absolutely no sense. CDPR losing a lot of stock value because of delays most likely caused owners to force this out. They were stupid enough to think this could save their stock value, when infact stock value is irrelevant, if the game would have been launched in April 2021 without bugs and at least in working order on old consoles (that wouldn't lead to refunds/class action suits etc) the stock value would have risen massively. After all, this could have become a massive franchise with added DLCs etc.

1107.  @wysetech2000  "That will stick with Intel forever", perhaps you should watch summary made by AdoredTV on Intel. They systematically spent billions on trying to deny AMD for getting into markets, they did this better part of a decade. Or that's at least of what they got convicted, how much they have done it is anybody's guess. The fact that AMD tries to be portray goo-dooer company is exactly why it cannot resort to certain acts profitably. The reason why I buy AMD is because that works the best for me in the long run. Allowing corporations to become monopolies is the worst possible thing for that field and certainly isn't the best overall choice for anyone except those that own the stocks of that company. The sad reality is that everyone thinks their buying habits have no real effect, and thus people optimize things selfishly. AMD has produced many open standards to fight proprietary standards. It has been much better toward open source community, and that's something I really appreciate. Corporations are different. And the reasons behind why this happens are interesting. If AMD becomes as big as Intel, which I certainly hope because it will fuel innovations, then it's possible that it will transform to a different company. But even then there are aspects that slows down the speed of this change. Personally I would love Belt CPU to take over, if that wont happen, then I would love Risc V to take over, and if that doesn't happen, then I hope ARM would take over. On X86 platforms I hope AMD would win, but only to a certain point. Mostly I care about the innovations, then about the pricing. I have background on microeconomics, so I really am not naive about corporations. Believing they are all equal because they have the same goal of making money is naive. Though I get your point, most people are naive when it comes to corporations and anything related to finances.

1108.  @wysetech2000  I personally don't even own AMD rig because I still run X58 + nehalem because at the time AMD was too weak. I'm really not tired of people exposing all the shite corporations do, no matter what the corporation. Intel did that at least 5 years. Believing that "people responsible have been fired" is naive statement. They have continued to same path again after Ryzen came and they faced competition. Have you read their press releases? It's profitable for them to lie, cheat and bribe as long as there are enough people that don't care. Fines are just too small to make any difference. They tried to bribe those people who found the security holes. And delayed the information as long as possible. Very few wanted AMD back then? Athlon XP sold like hot cakes, Athlon 64 and Opteron were obvious choices at the time, and those products were so good value that Intel paid billions just to make manufacturers not use those CPUs. "Millions of users still don't want AMD", yes, there are lots of idiots who don't understand how much AMD has done for them, just look how much Intel has lowered prices and how much more cores they have after decade of quad cores. I can't even think how horrible the situation would be if AMD would have had the same fate as Cyrix. Anybody who understands anything about economics wants many competitor. And honest good competition. That's why lies has to be exposed, criminal behavior have to be punished. And people shouldn't identify themselves with the hardware they own. I don't own anything from AMD, but I will buy Zen2 based laptop next year if it's good.

1122.  @JohnSmith-xf1zu  I'm not wondering why people are not using Linux, because switching to completely different OS with different paradigms requires a shit ton of learning. It's the same thing with exercise, it's hard work, it would be beneficial, but I understand why people are not doing it. Trying to install and use Windows if you never had used it before would be incredibly hard and mostly not intuitive. The only group of people I wonder why they are not using Linux are developers and sysadmins. And one group that would benefit immensely would be those that mostly only use browser and who have ancient hardware. Lightweight Linux distro like Antix runs on a potato while delivers great experience. Problems with Nvidia are problems with Nvidia, not with Linux. There is nothing Linux developers could do about that. And I certainly didn't mean Nvidia with esoteric hardware. Though getting Nvidia to work with the proprietary drivers isn't hard. And there's open source drivers anyway, for gaming it's not really usable though. Linus is perfect example of someone who has no real motivation of migrating to Linux. Trying Linux will almost always ensure you only get frustrated and switch back, because you get all the shit at the beginning and the benefits would come on the long term. Migrating to Linux to just play games is absolutely moronic idea at the moment. Valve's patches to the kernel etc. bending updates are coming with 5.16 so about in January, so if the point was to check out Linux because of Valve's Steam Deck and SteamOS, then the timing was bad. This challenge should have been with LMG's staff where gamers could have participated, and there would have been some awards/punishments. And the challenge would have been a year long or as long as the last person would last. Then you would have seen how the user experience changes among that time, when you learn Linux's paradigms. Also the people would have had more time than Linus who runs massive business and have family with 3 children. But I get that might have been too massive undertaking. It's not Linux's fault that hardware manufacturers do not support it. At least there are tons of people doing these fixes the best way they can, but if devices have closed source firmwares, it's kind of impossible to write great drivers. If you have some esoteric hardware that requires some Git scripts and you are average user who is not committed to migrate, then Linux have failed. And there's absolutely nothing that anybody can do about that, except the HW manufacturers. I hope you see the problem here. There is NOTHING Linux developers could do better in these situations that you described. Obviously there are tons of things they can do, like get more intuitive UIs and get rid of bugs that nuke your X server when you install Steam, but on hardware issues it's mostly impossible to get things done better without some help from the manufacturers.

1125. 1:30 Ocean levels have not risen at all. Predictions claimed huge level rising by 2020. If there were global temp increase, sea levels would rise, period. Thus the reason all these simulations are made with closed source software, thus hidden and not science, is that global warming is pure religion that is used to enslave humanity. If there were any global warming, it would show on the ocean levels and on the prices of coastal area. But the prices of houses right on the sea have risen more than other real estates, so the rich who buy those real estates are smart enough to know global warming is pure fiction. We had sun maximum, and 150 year cycle maximum, possibly even some greater sun maximum all in the 90s to early 2000s. It's exactly why all the planets got hotter. I don't think co2 was the cause of Neptune getting hotter. And it's also why there's 0 paper that explains even in theory how co2 in earth's 0.05% quantity could have measurable effect. Simple example, assume earth was just one global ocean and that all energy that ocean's absorbs would spread everywhere at once, then calculate the temp that earth would eventually be at each different co2 levels. Quite simple example, but it would show the effect of different co2 levels from 0% to 0.01% to 0.05% (that we have now) to 0.3% (that earth has had at one time) and up to 100%. We don't have that example because it would show without any doubt that co2 at these levels have no measurable impact, and not even much higher levels. It's why we have 100% unscientific hidden simulations, that have predicted that ocean levels are multiple meters higher at 2020. Only total global control allow this ridiculous scam to live on, just like with war against terrorism in inside job false flag attack, and now this scamdemic plandemic and economy and humanity destroying lockdowns and measures that only phuck up people's immune systems.

1146.  @zeetoo6306  Do you think Linus Torvalds or Linux enthusiasts are happy about this? Many developers doesn't deserve respect, at least if they commit shite. "Education or experience cannot be used for discrimination" is also pretty idiotic. But the main problem is that this doesn't solve anything, it only creates problems. If someone would not appreciate great code from someone because he/she/it is something that this CoC is supposed to protect, then that person would have been kicked out. Also if someone happens to be somewhat racist, but produces the best possible kernel code, should open source projects kick that person out? Sure, if that creates lots of problems, but that would have happened even before CoC. It''s not hard to follow all the logical paths and see that the net outcome can only be negative. And in the case of takeover, which these kind of rules enable, the negative outcome is enormous. Only thing CoC helps, is to make it easy to kick people out from the project. The same goes with hate speech laws, which are only used to regulate democracy and free speech. Criminal speech, like supporting violence and crime, was already criminal. Again, in corporations this is not a bad problem, they have full control structure anyway. But on projects based on volunteering, these can be used to hijack the project. And it's completely obvious that this is the interest of corporations and agencies. Microsoft and Google are also clearly politically motivated. I'm completely altruistic, and have been active to accomplish a better world for almost two decades. I really hope I'm wrong about this, and it has nothing to do with takeover attempt. But it's 100% sure that it will help it, if/when they are trying the takeover.

1164.  @Indsofin  The only reason why anyone would migrate to Linux is not gaming. Gaming can be a big portion of the thing, but you will not migrate to Linux for playing Windows games unless you appreciate some aspects of Linux way more than Windows. Those aspects must be part of any sort of challenge, or the challenge is dishonest and harmful from the start. No, Linux fans do not miss what Mac or Windows users want. Again, if you want simplicity over other things, stay on Mac or Windows. There is nothing that forces you to migrate to another ecosystem, but if you want to migrate, then it's important to focus on the reasons why you would want to do that. Migration to completely another ecosystem with different paradigms will be hard, and trying to judge things from Win/Mac perspective is dishonest, or it being the only viewpoint is dishonest. That might be the honest way you feel at the moment, but it's still dishonest for anyone who realizes that he is migrating to another ecosystem with different paradigms. Many of the distros are pretty much as simple as they can be, or you would be building uncompatible "Linux" that really has no purpose. Of course there are things to improve, that's on all operating systems, but Linus certainly is not the correct person for telling how Linux should handle things. He is really not interested on Linux, and because he is not active long term user he only sees how things look from his Windows user perspective. The point I'm trying to make is that if some aspects are actually better in the long term, even if those seem bad for the moment, you shouldn't change them. Obviously there are lots of small things to improve that anyone can tell should be changed. Though the best thing would be to check out different DEs and pick the one that suits you the best. People who say "Linux could be simple" almost certainly are not Linux developers or understand the Linux ecosystem well enough. That sort of thing might happen if Valve etc. really thinks they have a business model and reason to create simple Linux distro for the noobs. But at the moment getting Ubuntu, Mint etc. to be simple enough for Windows noobs would require just insane amount of work, and I doubt it would be that popular. It takes effort to learn new paradigms, but it is worth it. Learning command line tools and what you can achieve with them is worth it. You can achieve things with them that is impossible with GUI tools. Good luck for migrating! Linux people might strongly defend their OS, but they are really really helpful people and want real adoption. It's just that most of the people talking about the adoption just do not know enough of what they are talking about.

Also TSMC is big part of this, as they are strategic partners and having much better node. Console launch forces Sony, Microsoft and AMD to focus on software stack, as poor launch would damage the sales. And they have taken a long time for this. RDNA1 while clearly not as good as RDNA2 already got good results with only 40CUs and lower clocks. Doubling the CU amount, getting much higher clocks, RDNA2 having better IPC and the recipe is complete. Nvidia sure spent a lot of money, but Ampere's design decisions are made compute in mind first. That's why 60% increase in transistors gets only 30% more performance on gaming with 30% higher power usage. Nvidia released paper launch because they know what AMD has and they wanted to be the first in the market and get people to buy into Ampere train before AMD launches their cards. In many ways this backfired. The expected sales from all RNDA 2 based SoCs, APUs and GPUs is just massive. And AMD being financially stable for the first time since over a decade allows much higher R&D to be put into GPUs. Scaling was the main design point for RDNA architecture, if this has failed and their scaling is poor, then Big Navi fails. If they solved this by breaking their architecture into CDNA and RDNA, then 80CU Big Navi will be a monster. This can be extrapolated from consoles and 5700XT's relative performance. Scaling efficiency is the only question that remains to be seen.

1194.  @juangamboa2613  Manjaro is great, but I wouldn't use it as my first Linux OS. Though I have heard it's now much better of what it was year ago, but it's still not my recommendation as it's rolling release distro. Nothing should break even if your connection breaks. Linux would never have become the OS that runs the Internet or base kernel for Android if that were the case. All packages are checked against their checksum codes before installing. I have been running my Linux trough 4G connection during the last 3 years and my connection breaks constantly, at least once per quarter my updating breaks. There are no obscure errors that have not happened to anyone. It's the growing pains of learning in the beginning. No matter how small the distro, there are answers to be found. Arch is one of the most popular distros, which Manjaro is based on, and pacman is the most used software. So the change of you having problem that has not been resolved is nearly impossible. Can't say for 100% but I'm almost certain your issues could have been fixed with one command, and prevent from happening again by another command. But if you get interested to try Linux again, I would start with distro that isn't rolling release. As rolling release distros are for more advanced people. That's one reason I don't like people recommending Manjaro to new people. POP Os is another good distro for gaming, stable non rolling release, but one that gets new graphics drivers faster. It allows you to update to never version by just upgrading like with normal update process, the only real benefit for rolling releases are that you get new features earlier. But you get new OS versions twice a year anyway and all security and performance updates and compatible new features gets updated instantly, so from my perspective rolling releases are for hobbyists and for majority there are no real benefits.

1199.  @visualdarkness  Anyone that has any interest in computing, getting anything done, aka doing anything else than just using browser and playing games, should be interested in Linux. The problem is that people have been brainwashed to think GUIs are the smart way to doing things, in most cases you write almost the same amount and on top of that have to navigate shitty GUIs to achieving the same thing. Linux is open source, and thus if there would have been a better way to achieve things, it would have been made. "People use tech a lot, it doesn't mean that they are interested in how it works" Yes, if you think playing a game and using a browser is the same as using tech. I certainly don't like Linux because I want to know how it works. I like it because I can achieve things that are impossible with Windows. Some hate proprietary software because you have absolutely no idea what your computer is doing when you use it, nor does anyone else. It's easily shown to be immoral in many ways. Some like Linux because it works great with low resources, or because it's stable AF or because it's much more secure, or because maintenance is so simple. And many use it because you really own your OS, can change anything, and can achieve things you can't in Windows. The problem is that most of these are not obvious from the start. My appreciation for Linux grew years as I learned more and as my system worked flawlessly. Migrating to Linux is a slow process for most as the benefits can be seen only after successful migration.

1210.  @magicalmidgethorse4730  I was in university in 2015 and the whole university had Ubuntus running, everyone got a laptop with Ubuntu and scripts that would install whatever software that you could need in university. There was no issues at all. Only Wifi related etc. things that were certificate problems, but everything worked fine. But in any case Linux is lightyears ahead of what it was on 2015, especially on hardware compatibility etc. I can honestly say I have not heard anybody complain anything like that to me. It's always possible to have some hardware that causes troubles, especially prior 2015 (and 2015), but to have that happen on multiple people seems impossible based on my experience. Our universities really give everyone a Linux laptop when they start, and the whole infra is based on Linux. There are no problems. That started sometime between 2010-2015. I would highly encourage you to forget the problems of the past. As long as you don't have esoteric hardware, Linux is really awesome nowadays. Going back to anything else would feel hell to me. Laptops used to be the problem area as you need so much specific drivers etc. support for getting those to work perfectly. The newest laptops might still be problematic, though the full support is coming constantly faster and faster, and most of the hardware is now in the kernel prior releases. The ecosystem migration takes effort but if you would have the necessary software on Linux, then it's worth it. I only really learned Linux and it's paradigms when my windows got phucked and I made a conscious effort on trying to stick with Linux. It took time, but after couple of months I realized that I was happier than with windows. But it got constantly better for a long time.

1220.  @samzx81  Nokia had new Symbian 95% ready when Elop fired all the team. They had Meego Linux based OS that had new much improved version 85% ready when that team was fired. Later that team formed Jolla, and their Sailfish OS was hailed to had the best kernel of mobile OS' but they lacked money and it was too late already. Nokia had bad CEO before Elop, that's true, but they had been developing those new OS' a lot and people who were beta testers praised those systems. Essentially Siilasmaa reacted late, but made the correct calls, until Elop came and phucked it all up. It shouldn't take a genius that Windows phone was horrible idea. Even dropping OS alltogether and just use Android would have been much better choice, but there were lots of people really excited with Symbian allready and Meego while being quite a crappy at first, had been developed a lot and there were also lots of people excited for the possibility of much more open Linux phone and other people praised it's GUI as really intuitive and innovative. But Elop was there only for one reason. So it didn't matter that they had two almost ready OS', both were flushed to toilet. Any CEO that would have worked for the best interest of Nokia would at least have released those OS' for some of the models, or some areas of the world where cheaper models would sell more. Firing all the talent that had worked for decades was just unbelievable horrible move. I had many friends working at Nokia, so I know the situation pretty well. And also every finnish people know it somewhat well, as I don't think any country had one corporations as important to their economy as Nokia was for Finland. We had horrible depression in the 90s, but huge investments to education and co-operation between universities and corporations, well, mostly with Nokia, gave us unbelievable boost. Joining euro was the single most horrible economic decision for Finland ever, so now we are quite screwed as Nokia is gone and all the smaller companies just can't compete against other countries without having own weaker currency. If you read this whole thing, thank you and sorry about my rant. The subject is just so close to my heart and wallet.

1222.  @bigpod  Android and iOS didn't really saturate the market at the beginning of 2011. Lots of people still wanted Symbian phones, so that system should have been sold as a way to get cash from developing markets. MeeGo should have been the focus for real smartphones. As it was essentially Linux phone, porting applications wouldn't have been difficult. It was still early stages of smartphone era so quite nice chunk of that market could have been taken. Ditching all but Windows was essentially giving Nokia to Microsoft's mercy. I personally didn't know anyone who wanted to use Microsoft in their phones. Maybe people 35 and older, but at those stages the trends were mostly dictated by younger audience. But the most horrifying thing was giving all the power essentially to Microsoft, as there was no going back after firing all the developers. Choosing Microsoft also meant that the ecosystem wouldn't bring money to Nokia. So it would have been the same to go with Android and focus on the quality of the phones, something Nokia was famous in the earlier days. I still have my secondary phone from 2004, and it's been constantly 24/7 in use. The situation seems much worse now than it was. Sure whatever they choose was essentially life and death situation, as there was no time to waste. But based on what I heard about the MeeGo they were finishing when the team got sacked made it obvious to me that it should have been the way to go. At worst they would have sold nice amount of those phones, cheap Symbian to developing markets and that would have bought more time and ability to move to Android slightly later if MeeGo would have flopped. That team could have moved to Android really fast as it was Linux based also.

1224.  @bigpod  MeeGo was Linux though, and later version of it allowed Android apps to run on it. At that time things were still at their infancy, so if MeeGo actually was as good as I heard, and close to as good as Sailfish came later (port of MeeGo) then I really could see large support for it. People were fed up with Microsoft, sure people had to use Windows on their desktop but all the people I knew hated the idea of Windows phone. Nokia still had huge following, so if they have managed to produce nice hardware and nice OS, that would have had nice following. Linux is free software and thus it's really hard to get big market share. On computers there really hasn't even been any competition as Microsoft managed to lock people in Windows. But on phones I could see multiple competitors, assuming the porting for different platforms would be easy. And it sure would to MeeGo, as Jolla managed to make their derivative Android compatible with compatibility layer with miniscule team. I don't think Nokia could have survived as just a phone maker, they would have had to get some piece of the ecosystem pie. And they really had lots of great software at that time, but as Elop phucked the other OS' they had to sell many of their projects away in the time they took to produce the windows phone. Since Elop said that we are now windows only company, it took them forever to get the windows phones to market. Huge blunder, as that essentially killed their sales of the existing lineup that had already got good reviews for the first time in ages.

1237. Well, it's sad to see that people are not smart enough. Putin has been the best thing that Russia could have ever hoped for. Cold war never really ended. In the 90s west could just rob and phuck up Russia through western oligarchs and so they were kind of happy. But at the same time they brainwashed hate towards Russia as they knew Russia would at some point need to get destroyed. Money is kind of illusion, raw materials, energy and land are the true currency and Russia has them all. And a shit ton of them all. And they also are the one country that has their own free central bank and enough nukes to keep USA/Nato from attacking. Nato tried to build missile shield in the western Europe, that way they could actually attack at some point and shoot down at least decent amount of the nukes. But now Russia has hypersonic missiles that are invisible for radar, and fly +4km a second. Thus military operation is yet again impossible. It would be long AF essay to explain why Putin has been the best possible leader for Russia. But that's my conclusion based on almost two decades of research on the world's affairs. West tried everything to destroy Russian economy, but they achieved nothing, except almost certainly the destruction of petrodollar which will collapse also Euro and British pound. Without the efforts Putin has done to protect Russia, they had no chance against west. And those who do not see that west has been in war against Russia for the past 15yrs, well, just do not see the reality. Though it's complex reality and it needs research and knowledge on multiple disciplines. People in Uk. rain certainly need a better leader, as he is a drug attack pervert puppet for the see IA, who created this war on purpose, as commanded by his leaders.

1245.  @leo_the_v.3847  911 and Chernobyl have absolutely nothing in common. Here the impossible physics are so blatant that they could have as well made the towers accelerate to space and it would be as possible. What would happen in a plane would slam to bedrock? I think we know. The WTC was designed to withstand multiple largest jumbojet hits with full load of fuel. And even in the one in a trillion chance that the upper part would have collapsed, the bottom would not. As the collapse doesn't suddenly create insane amount of extra energy. And the towers are built to withstand about 4 times the weight of the towers because it has to withstand even the worst possible theoretical hurricanes that create insane stress to the towers. The planes did nothing for the core. They just claim it was the fire. But even if the fire would make the steel white hot, it would still hold quite easily. And no fuel could ever be that hot with normal atmosphere. Hijacking planes is risky as hell, there are so many things that could go wrong. They certainly didn't use plane in Pentagon, flight 93 was pure fiction, so why use planes here? CGI is much simpler. They wired the buildings for demolition during the summer, Bush's cousin was the contractor. WTC 7 wasn't even hit, and it got blown away many hours later. WTC 6 also was totally destroyed while nothing hit it. The collapse of these towers were the main goal. These were the masonic pillars, they were meant to collapse on masonic day of IXXI aka 9/11. Using that to make trillions kind of was the side effect. The ritual was known to happen for freemasons at least since the early 60s. These buildings were designed and build for sacrifice. I said that planes could have been used, that's true. But the footage is faked. It's CGI or hologram. 1:44 the plane is in full shadow while it should be in full sunlight. And 1:45 1:46 we see all kinds of issues with the plane, but at least the side now reflects light. There are multiple different videos where there are no planes, filmed by multiple people. These could be fakes, but it would be pretty massive work to fake these and really who would benefit? As only fraction of the people would ever see those videos and only those would believe those are real who already know the official story is bullshit.

1251. If Steam Deck becomes popular, it certainly will force Linux compatibility into new heights. I don't believe directstorage to be important. However I do think RDNA3/4 will have NVMe controller and PS5 like decoding co-processor and cache coherency and memory management engines that allow effective use of SSDs as memory. Directstorage is far from that, and the benefits from having "PS5 like" co-processors and super fast NVMe drive are massive. Lets assume RDNA4 multichip GPU that is 300% faster than 6900XT, and either have 16GB of HBM or GDDR6, if you also have that PS5 like asset streaming capability, you could achieve almost anything on that graphics card. You can have much less VRAM, and especially with HBM that would save a lot of money. Directstorage is Xbox like, but PS5 is much more advanced. Rachet and Clank is great showcase, but it's still in it's infancy of what PS5's tech can deliver. So I think Rachet and Clank doesn't yet have anything Xbox couldn't achieve. But when big open world titles have huge scene variance with tons of 4K textures, then that PS5 tech can achieve things that Directstorage can't. I certainly would hope these decompression co-processors would come to graphics cards ASAP as the best algorithms can greatly increase the level of compression. In any case I certainly hope Microsoft isn't getting any new standards and APIs that lock people into their horrible system. And my objective analysis is that Directstorage isn't nearly as important as it seems as graphics cards most likely will go the "PS5 route" in RDNA4 and RTX 5000 series at least, perhaps even with RDNA3.

1266.  @nichnocheins3121  Hollywood has known from the start that it's frontscreen projection. It's been shown already in 1972 James Bond Diamonds are forever film. That video itself is only showing what to look for. The proof is probabilistic, you have the same things on the blackness of space, no matter which photo or film you look. There's no possibility of it being camera or the film. That means there must be background. The other frontscreen projection markings just prove the background is frontscreen projetion canvas. Again "scientists would have already proven this" as they have. But on things like JFK asssassination, 911 controlled demolition false flag, etc. you are not going to hear the truth from scientists, as there are certain agendas that you either accept or you will get fired, blacklisted, and censored. Those who speak the truth are being trashed as crazy people within the media and they are deemed as conspiracy theorists. Thus most follow the agenda. The Apollo footage's parallax shows that there's a background close by. The way dust flies from moon buggys tires shows there's atmosphere where the footage is filmed, and then there are other evidence that take much more work to verify. But the easiest thing is to follow the markings on the blackness of space. Having the same markings on all photos, but on different locations as the camera's angle etc. changes, is the best proof possible. But it requires thinking and it sinking in. American moon 2017 is pretty good documentary that clearly explains why Russia didn't expose it (though many cosmonauts still did), how Nasa collected moon rocks from Antarctica in the 60s, and all the other aspects as well. I highly recommend it. Though I'm not saying we haven't been on the moon. The official mission just is fake, just like the footage. There's no doubt on that and it's quite common knowledge among scientists, but people stay quiet.

1269.  @nichnocheins3121  Oswald didn't shot JFK because that's impossible by Newtonian physics. It couldn't be simpler, official lie claims Oswald was in the book repository that was straight back of JFK but on the footage JFK's head is thrown backwards, and Jackie is thus trying to get away from the car over the trunk. There's so much evidence on this thing, but who bothers to research? Almost no one, as they think they can just watch brainwash medias and know the truth. 911 is so filled with impossible physics and ridiculous mistakes by those who pushed this lie. Basements were exploded even before CGI planes were ever "hit" in the buildings. Then you can just watch and hear the explosions going from the TV footage. And those explosions were heard even from Jersey and collected from seismic meter station there. The amount of impossible physics and evidence is so immense that it's hard to communicate shortly. Planes had remote controls already in the 90s. Hijacking plane can be done, flying these planes however is impossible without experience on those specific planes. But the most important thing is that planes wouldn't collapse WTC. Even in theory if the top part would melt, the bottom would be just fine. Most intelligent people already know these things, it's totally obvious for anyone who bothers to research. But just like with all the lies that were used to all the wars in 20th and 21th century, nothing happens unless majority of people really wake up and demand some justice. But our world is sadly so controlled that media is not going to say how it was done, why, and by whom. People are too opportunistic, so money buys silence and those that are financially well seem to be happy about their situation and accepting all the crimes. That changes only when enough people throw their TVs and other corporate medias away and actually start researching things and talking about these things among other people.

1274.  @limbsmith  Anyone who base their belief on global warming on one region being warmer (in their opinion) is a special kind of case. How much are the ocean level risen in the last decade? It hasn't risen at all. Thus there's no global warming. You absolutely know nothing about climate, and thus you are easy to manipulate and brainwash. Here in Helsinki we just had the longest winter ever recorded, and massive amounts of snow in 4 years in the last decade. Thus I think it must be ice age coming, like the scientist declared in the 80s, funny how Co2 levels then were causing ice age instead of global warming. On average every year there will be country where they break the record on most warm year ever recorded. That's statistics. Every city is becoming much hotter because the cities are becoming bigger and thus they create much bigger pockets of warm air that doesn't move. Also the use of energy is rising on cities, but this is only tiny factor. Russia especially is heavily dependent on where the airflows come, or if there's any airflow. You absolutely cannot measure anything on just a decade or twos worth of data. I hate warmth, but even more I hate corrupt science and the cult of global warming and activists without understanding anything about how climate on earth works. I was climate activist, so I'm also very understanding. It's so cleverly orchestrated and pushed already so long that people cannot fathom it is BS. But anyone who bothers to research the science behind it, you will find out it's BS.

1284.  @tiaoraitbg2347  Bluetooth is not as good, but your wifi problems I would bet are because of the firmware if that happened in Arch based Linux. Wifi dongles are problematic as there are huge amount of those and obviously all do not have the best drivers. Though compiling the specific needed driver usually fixes that problem, but majority of users don't know how. Desktop environments have issues. Though KDE has become hugely better. Still my prefered desktop is Mate, it's fast, lightweight, works really well and it suits my needs perfectly. I don't like Gnome, though I liked Gnome 2 and Mate is a fork of that. I kind of like KDE now, but I'm so used to Mate that I like it better. XFCE was great about a decade ago, but now it doesn't interest me. LXQt is pretty great if you need something that takes as little resources as possible while being full desktop. I have heard good things about the latest Gnome, just as I have heard good things about the latest KDE. And especially I have heard good things about Pop OS Gnome fork. So while I agree on this video, I still think there's lots of things improving and there's certain possibilities in the next couple of years for Linux to become actually viable OS for a lot of people. But a lot of depends on Stream Deck, if it becomes true success, then it raises the possibility that other companies could enter the Linux market. Certain compatibility developments are happening that might finally allow much better Windows compatibility and it would open doors for companies creating distros that give guarantees that their windows software will be working on it. But this topic would require so much conversation and it's just speculation based on other speculation. In any case I like to be hopeful.

1304. @What ? GOT just build up more mysteries over more mysteries until it was obvious that there was no plan to ever conclude anything. If you truly think there are no holes until S7, then I'm certainly wasting my time. What good analysts, I have checked out dozens of them, but not dragon demands or Preston Jacobs. And yes, D&D are shitty writers. Good scenes doesn't change that. Have you listened to their last interview from couple of months away where they pretty much admitted that they had no clue on what they were doing and how they were surprised to get the job in the first place? Of course Martin defends D&D, that proves absolutely nothing. And yes, Martin would be horrible at writing scripts fast, which again proves nothing. If you truly think D&D are good writers, well, good for you. Breaking Bad doesn't have plot holes. It has chemistry used as plot device. It has amazing writing, which you probably don't understand based on your comments thus far. That's ok. Perhaps watch that again when you are older. Journey is of course more important than ending, but if the journey is just building up mysteries that are left open without any meaning, and every season is constantly getting more about shock, killing characters, subverting expectations and not having any real value, then the journey is just like pyramid scam. And thus D&D got fired from Star Wars and all the spinoffs of GOT has been cancelled. I would say that thus far every alternative storylines from S7 and S8 have been better than what we got. BB on the other hand gets better in every season, and it has amazing last 8 episodes. Everything on that show makes sense from storytelling point of view, and all the characters are written and acted amazingly. But it's a completely different show from GOT, which is pretty simple show compared to BB which is really deep. Although it can be watched superficially too. GOT had the potential to be amazing, but a ton of responsibility goes to Martin too. I don't think he can ever finish the story in a way that makes sense in a way that would make his final book as good as his best books thus far. I don't think even he has any great point to his whole series. Still, pretty much anyone could have written better final seasons on GOT. Almost all characters got completely assassinated, most arcs got destroyed and all the lore was for nothing. Breaking bad however tells perfect arc for almost all characters.

1305. @What ? Hank called backup and waited backup + warrant. And if you have known someone for decades and think him as your dear friend and a sort of loser, completely different kind of person who makes meth, then it's pretty easy to not ever think him as having anything to do with meth. You need to watch BB again. There isn't plot holes, though it relies on luck and co-incidents a lot. That doesn't bother me, though certainly it could be even better if they had twice the time to write it. But the things that the show explores are written perfectly. Again, there are no plot holes in BB. Chemistry is just used as plot device pretty much like magic and dragons on GOT. I loved GOT until they started to phuck up the characters, just create mysteries that were left in the air without explanations or any points, and when they started to kill characters and subvert expectations just to create cheap "good writing". On GOT S1-S3 was pretty perfect. But in retrospect big reason was that they just build mysteries that promised a lot, but that eventually were forgotten. Character arcs were great, but either those characters got killed, or they were changed and the arcs got phucked. So GOT is like a pyramid scam that promises a ton of profits but in the end leaves most completely broke. It had amazing actors, amazing production value etc. but no real substance. And a lot of people loved that show because it promised a ton of substance on the first couple of seasons. It was really intelligent show the first 3 seasons. GOT was crucified for SMALL things? I don't want to trash it further because it's best to enjoy things as much as possible, but if you want to know why it's trashed so much, there are huge amount of youtubers who explained all the problems on GOT. Maybe some people trashed small things, but I think most tried to give it a pass every way they could just because they loved the show and characters so much and hoped that S8 would finally fix the show.

1306. @What ? I have analyzed GOT and D&D for so many years that I'm tired of it. None of what they have made is excellent. Writing great dialogue based on existing universe that is rich as phuck isn't hard. Writing great arcs and logical believable story is. S7-S8 is unbelievable shitshow, and they had forever to make those 6 episodes of S8. I have done my homework and analyzing the show way too much already. And I have watched/read a lot of fan theories before S8 and alternative endings after S8. Those were MUCH better than S7-S8. D&D said they didn't like fantasy elements, so no wonder that show sucked and all those elements didn't get any logic or conclusion. I understand that they just wanted to end the series, but I'm not going to give them a pass for not finding another showrunners who actually wanted to make the show. After all it had such a huge cultural impact for millions of people. What I found after rewatching GOT and BB many times. GOT seems to be much better than it actually is and BB is much better than it actually seems. Comparing these shows depends largely on the fact that are we analyzing what the show gives on first view or what it gives in total for those that watch it multiple times. Kubrick movies and David Lynch products are amazing because you can watch them a dozen times and still get more out of them. Nothing beats Kubrick on that, but Lynch comes in second. In this regard these are really different kind of entertainment, and I love this kind of entertainment.

1307.  @goldwin1000  Breaking Bad certainly isn't overrated. Most underrate it as they don't get why it is so good, in the same way that many people don't get Shakespeare. GOT however is overrated, though season 1 is one of the best first seasons, I can only think one that is clearly better, and that is Twin Peaks' original 1st season in 1990. But GOT was already going downhill in season 4, even though that season has many amazing episodes. But then season 5 and 6 are overall much worse, season 7 is complete trash. Sure it looks great, but the writing is horrible, characters got simplified to the point of them being unrecognizable. It's just that people recognize season 8 to be so crap, because it finally had to show that the show was full of hot air. It's easy to build mysteries that seem amazing, arcs that seem majestic, and even multidimensional characters. But to finish the story so that characters remain multidimensional, their actions make perfect sense, and those mysteries get resolved in meaningful manner that all contribute to the overarching themes of the show, that's hard as hell. If GOT would have nailed the last season perfectly, it would have been a better show, even though season 5-7 are already quite bad. But I think the magical elements of that show were unbalanced in a way that you couldn't make that perfect ending on that show in any way. One thing that could have saved the show would have been if "peter baelish theory" would have been real. That way the faceless men would have made sense, and that would have allowed to tie all the magical elements to the main plot of "who gets the Iron Throne" which also would have been connected to white walkers and the doom that awaits people that can't work together. It would have made the show number 1.

1312. If you are white and don't phuck black people, give them your money, bow when you see them and ask forgiveness for the slavery, you are a racist. If you are not white, but hate white people, call them all the horrible names and actively work to phuck them over, you are brave activist that tries to help humankind. Depending how we look, every single living thing is a racist. The closer you are genetically, the less of a threat the other thing is and the more likely you have similar goals etc. However if we look racism as a systematic belief that your race is different, have more intelligence, is faster at running and better at sports, that's genetics and statistical fact. Different races have different qualities. It's not huge differences, but trying to ignore these differences is unscientific and unethical in the long run towards everybody. If we look racism as a belief that there is inherent difference in human value depending on the race, that is rare. And I don't mean things like "I want to support my race, and I hope my race does well" because that is 100% natural and normal thing to feel, we just can't form rules in our society in a way that supports this behavior. But there really exist a race that thinks they are the God's chosen people, and that all other races on this earth are put there by God to be used by them. It's in their holy law books, in their secret societies as a belief system and baked in their culture as a "support businesses that your own race owns if possible, and promote people from your own race", and through these secret societies and central banks that they control, and all the medias they have bought with this money they can create from thin air, they have made us all to think we are the racists and they made us fight each others. It's unbelievably common that when different parties fight each others, someone on the outside has been using divide and conquer strategies. Someone may call this truth racism, but it has nothing to do with race, it has everything to do with culture, religion, secret societies. Most of the so called racism is exactly that. And if someone calls hating cultural things as racism, then phuck those lunatics. I will never support Sharia law, or child brides or things like that. That doesn't mean I hate those races. Even in the USA I think lots of hate between races are based on the different cultures. So lets focus on bringing that to the table. Just acknowledging that there is only fear/hate of cultural things would help things so much.

1313.  @iusegentoobtw  I have never used Arch, but installing it seems to be about the same as certain parts of Gentoo install. Though Gentoo can be really hard, especially if you are using the testing branch and use LTO overlay for much higher level of optimization. One general rule that I found out, if your compiling of certain package crashes, limit the amount of threads for compiler to use. Certain packages use just ridiculous amount of RAM, with LTO overlay and thus all optimizations maxed, the worst packages use almost 3GB per thread. But that is largely due to LTO. But still if you have problems and have less than 3GB per thread, it's worth to try compiling with less threads. I can compile almost all with 8 threads while having only 8GB, even with the maxed optimization, so I would just use the amount of threads your CPU has, and then if you encounter problematic packages, just lower it to 1 thread per 2GB unless you are using GentooLTO overlay, which I wouldn't recommend for anyone when installing their first Gentoo. Gentoo's IRC channel is full of saints. And really knowledgeable people who will help. Also Gentoo wiki is pretty good, though I still use Google to find the correct wiki pages, though in general I don't use Google to anything else that that and wNvidia Bans Hardware Unboxed, Then Backpedals: Our Thoughtsatching Youtube. Good luck, eventually you will thank yourself for this decision, while the learning curve is steep and feels like it continues forever, but suddenly you find that you handle the system and understand it really good. And that happens quite quickly. And that feeling is amazing, and then you really fall in love with Gentoo.

1340.  @terrydaktyllus1320  You already have the hardware. If there were one simple software that you could run to make money, I think people would start to use it for sure. It would have to be really simple software though, and creating that software and maintaining the required network make it non profitable for a long long time. Mobile devices would compute only when those are connected with charger. You would leave your device on charger during the night. It's possible in theory, but almost impossible in practice. The problem is the huge amount of work required for creating amazing software that allows all the different devices to be used as computing nodes with native level performance. Though in the long run companies manufacturing devices would probably be onboard and helping with the software as this would boost the sales of the more expensive devices and probably boost the sales amounts overall. Same would happen with all hardware. Is there enough computational needs where you actually can parallel the problem well with lots of devices that have big latency, that's the question. If the answer is that there are lots of problems that would benefit from this, genomic research, molecular/chemistry research etc. to name a few, then this is feasible in theory. There are certain projects already. You can sell your GPU time for rendering tasks for example. And then there is BOINC and similar projects that allow you to participate in countless projects but you don't get paid. You could also have in the software that you would like to participate in projects where you don't get any money when there are no profitable projects for your hardware. Then you could choose the free projects you would like to support. This would certainly raise the amount of people who participate in those projects.

1348.  @godfather7339  In theory you can control that only one account is created by having DNA, iris scan, fingerprint scan to create that account. And there are other theoretical ways too. But this is the whole problem, if you could have 100% certainty that there's only one money creation account per adult, then you could have automatic money creation based on how much the currency is flowing. Thus if there's too little flow, it means it's depression and more money is needed to get the economy going, and if there's too much flow, then suppress creation of money. Thus this system would keep the economy in balance constantly, and block all attempts to restrict the economy as that would inflate the value of the money rich own. Also this would make the economy really predictable, which would be great for peace and for happiness. There might be some ways to identify a person so that the same person cannot create another account, and that there's no other ways of creating the account. These money creation accounts could be only available only for certain period of time. So you would have to create new account like once per 1-3 years. So in the chance that you could hack yourself account somehow that it wouldn't be profitable for long time. It would need to be insanely secure system, but the core components wouldn't be that massive, so perfect security audit would be possible. Lets hope this will happen some day. As this could raise from the grassroots upwards. People would join as they think it's free money. And once there's people buying these credits from others with real money, in the hopes of getting lots of valuable cryptos for free, then eventually there would be simple ways for businesses to participate. As this system would be nearly free for all, only having tiny cost that prevents transferring money back and forth and thus damaging the system. Also money would be created only for those that would have participated in the P2P network that handles the whole currency. Thus making sure there's tons of capacity always available and thus really low latency. From common users, to small businesses, to higher businesses, this could raise up and become popular enough that people would want this to become the new official currency. As pretty much everyone except the 0.1% would benefit. Sorry about this novel. I have been thinking about this for half a decade, hoping that someone would miraculously figure out the verification problem.

1356. Please, someone figure out a method how to identify a person with 99.9999999% accuracy without a third party. So that one person could only have one account, and no extra accounts with fabricated date could be created. It doesn't matter how hard the registration process would be, just that there are no third parties involved. Essentially this would allow virtual currency that is automatically created for all accounts, allowing predefined inflation aka taxation of accumulated wealth. It would have all the benefits of cryptocurrency, it would essentially allow universal basic income. It would allow people to become rich, and in essence with the perfect parameters it would be the best system possible in our current spiritual evolutionary state. And it would remove the power from the bankers, which is really important. When common people have more money to spend, and not fear of losing their free income, they probably use more services. So this should allow lots of new jobs. And building a small business would be less riskier when you have free income. While this doesn't have the appeal of cryptocurrency that requires mining, it can become popular by other methods. There are ways to print money from your account to paper, so that it's either valid until someone activates it back to his/her/it's account or that it's only usable for that one person/business and to everyone else it's just paper. This could be done without there being any record to who you gave the money, or whom you took it. So it has the same effect and benefits as cash. It should be possible to transform money between two people even without internet connection. Your phone essentially being like your bank vault where you still wouldn't lose your money if you lose your phone. All of these methods would be completely secure. So that manipulating the data would require supercomputers with much bigger electricity bill than the potential benefits. Even with quantum computer of the future. All is doable, if the original problem could be solved.
