@falseprophet1024 when you buy a house that is located within an hoa , you are required to sign the receipt of the rules Regulations and financials. Some hoa recerve the right to deny you ( child molester... dentist) If you have a good realtor or attorney, they will explain all the important parts. If not, you're on your own. Hoa can rang from taking care of the entrance signed and grass to ... anything that is visible from the outside . Since one is spending hundreds of thousand of $ a little chat with the future neighbor might be beneficial. No one is forcing anyone to do anything they don't want. Don't like it Don't move there. Hoa can't do anything to you a city wouldn't be able to... I know one where you are not allowed to park pickup trucks in the driveway. .... exept that cities don't have to give you their codes before moving there. Another city doesn't allow you to have lights that shine onto the beach or up .

With the new rules about realtor compensation the selling realtor no longer will be required to "remind " you to look at the rules. Good luck with that.

@falseprophet1024 when 3 people are trying to explain something to you and you still don't get, maybe you should stay away from signing any documents. I would suggest to consult a lawyer.... but that would just be one more person you choose to ignore. Just don't buy a condo or a house in a regulated community.
