@EXROBOWIDOW they didn't build a million $ house. I would also imagine that the fee applies to new construction and not rebuilding a existing structure.

@EXROBOWIDOW there is a logic behind compensating for 2 people taking up potential living space of 20 people that would generate higher propertie taxes and support more business. The problem with this fee is most likely that it hits the wrong people and is not being used to actually improve the situation. So many good ideas turn out to not work in reality or being perverted after the fact. ( I really don't know enough specifics details about this particular case)

Is it impact fees? What was the budget on that building? There is a logic to it if a single residents takes up the space of multiple apartments that could be built instead.
