This goes back to abandoned buildings in cities. Then artists move in and use it to live and work. Just leaving property empty while people can't find a place to live should be criminal ( not in the best interests of society)

That sounds like a abandoned property. For 10y the owner did nothing. Use it or lose it. We should apply the same principle to unimproved property.

@Network126 it's insane. On the other side I have a empty lot but can't afford to put a few small rental units on it because of new building requirements ( I'm in sw Florida) if I hadn't suddenly made a bunch of money during the financial crisis and bought a house for cheap I'd be next to you in the Walmart parking lot.. no way I could afford rent these days.
