  2. In german it depends to grammar ( my knowledge of english is limited). Der blonde Mann, die blonde Frau, das blonde Kind ( the blond man, wo man, child) . But der Mann ist blond, die Frau ist blond, das Kind ist blond ( the man/ woman/ child is blond). But ein blonder Mann, eine blonde Frau, ein blondes Kind ( a blond man/woman/ child) .

  3. A sidenote english wife is german Weib ( rather dated) meaning married woman.

  4. In case of job/professions you must in Germany simply add - in at the end of the male version to have the female version.

  5. Bub(e) is also a german word for boy, i , swabian don' t use Junge, i only use swabian Bua.

  8. ​ @bjolfuriceland : A note out of context . As you know from speaking both German and English, Standard German ein can be in english either a or one . In my southern german dialect ( Swabian/ Schwäbisch) we, like english make a difference between a (a) and oi (one).

  13. Das Weib. At school a teacher told me, that das Weib ( formerly used similar to english wife) is neutral, because in former times a Weib was so old , that no man wanted to marry her to start a family.

  15.  @junctionfilms6348  : My point was , that i, a Swabian, was surprised, when i noticed that in Standard German everything is ,ein' but in English there was , like my dialect , the same system. English a is swabian a, and english one is swabian oi. Thats all!

  17.  @RobWords  : Fräulein was up to 70s, perhaps 80s used for unmarried , mostly young women, but also unmarried elderly women could be called Fräulein. I remember such an old lady. In official documents it disappeared in 70s, like french mademoiselle some yesrs ago. It is today no more ,political correct' and sometimes still used by old gentlemen , when speaking to younger teenage girls.
