  1. Being german of swabian tribe, to some degree i can understand the scotsmen and their clans. Both germans and scotsmen have a loyality under pure national loyality. Difference is , we germans no more have tribal chiefs for centuries. The german word for duke , Herzog, was in first years of HRE used by leaders of a tribe, early HRE was for administration divided into tribal duchies.
