When He was young, Most of his coworkers Had been Wehrmacht vetereans, who told him a lot of Stories about the war ( including a Lot of nonsens). But also the German Transport Units with their draft (?) horses Had the problem of feeding their horses. Also for horses veterinarians, blacksmiths and other specialists Had been necessary. Also horse Trainers. Some Things could be done by soldiers being rural men/ farmers, but not everything. As far as I know,, german Gebirgsjäger still has a single Transport company equipped with mulres and horses to carry things.
