  1. Same in Germany. In TV shows not so much, but advertisements / PR (in german Werbung or Reklame) it is annoying, especially for clothes.

Born in a semirural region in Germany ( between a large town and real country) in 1965, before 1990s you saw outside the Kreisstadt (district capital?) in villages or small towns nearly no black , asian or oriental persons. Only in next town a number of dark skinned persons from Ceylon/ Sri Lanka had been, as refugees from a civil war. With those Hindu people, was no troubles in last three/four decades.

  3. teethadore: : True. Also some greek , italian or spanisch persons had a darker skin than germans. But also among germans are some people, you could confuse with mediteranean people, perhaps descendants of soldiers from Thirty Years War or specialized craftsmen.
