  1. I am german, and Brittas boyfriend. Two weeks ago i watched Kenneth Brannagh's , Murder on the Nile' in a german cinema ( of course dubbed in german). After knowing the story and movies with Peter Ustinov and David Suchet, you can think what i thought about new movie: Pure political correctnes and unbelieveable nonsens, for example in 1930s muslim Egypt half of Nile steamer crew young women in short pants ( trousers?).

  3.  @Parasmunt  : What? Germanic ( anglosaxon) part of english language doesn' t come from northern Germany? Travel to this region, where Low German/ Niederdeutsch is spoken, still sounds a bit english. About thirty years ago a coworker of Low German region just for fun spoke in bis dialect to an english coworker. I remember the sentence: Und dann bin ik fallen in de kold Water. Both the englshman and i ( from swabian tribe) looked astonished, but we could understand. But a turkish man, who had never heared Low German , asked: Why do you speak english.
