  1.  @josega6338  : In case of absolute losses, wwll seems to be the war, which caused most losses and destruction in my homeland Germany. But you have forgotten the ,Thirty Years War' from 1618 to 1648. At end of the war a third of german population was dead, in some regions 90%! It needed many decades that the population had its old size, a lot of people came from overpopulated Switzerland and Alsace ( both german speaking) , also a large number of protestant frenchmen fleed to Germany.

  2.  @josega6338  : There are here in my german region ( state Baden- Württemberg) people with family name ,Schweizer' or ,Elsässer' , and with french names, there is even a village , founded after ,Thirty Years War' with the name Perouse! I of course know the reasons for this war. There are, also in Germany , not many movies with the toppic of ,Thirty Years War'. I noticed some days ago, but had no time to watch it again, that in YouTube the four episodes TV show ,Wallenstein' from late 70s is shown. But i don' t know, how good your german is, because today no more all people from Alsace can speak german.
