  1.  @SD_Alias  : Formerly the persons in Germany realy respected laws, orders done by policemen etc.. But today, i am german and 56 now, the respect against law, police and other people is much lower than in gone years. Today the joke of revolutionaris buying a plattform card ( Bahnsteigkarte) would no more work.

  2.  @roskcity  : For german grammar reason, there must be a ,s' after Volk . The only exeption i know, without using the ,Duden', a semiofficial german wordbook for correct writing, is Werkschutz, factory(works) protection, which means security guards, being member of the company, which owns the factory, and not from a private security company. Volksturm would be peoples tower, which makes no sense. In current german Sturm means , depending on context, either storm or assault, but in former centuries Landsturm was used to describe a levie of fightable, but not trained men, mobilzed in case of real need. In 19th century/ wwl Landsturm was the name for rearline units of elderly, but trained men, supported by younger trained men, which had been no more frontline able ( for example after being wounded). So the word Volkssturm was not only used for Propaganda reason, similar Landsturm was known for centuries .

  4.  @SD_Alias  : As a German, Britta is my girlfriend, born in 1965, country not town, and conservative, i am very disappointed about the decline of my country. I don' t understand, why every nonsens is supported by governement, but not respect of the law, and not law respecting persons.

  7. In case of tubes, inches ( Zoll) are still in use, but some diameters differ. For example english diameter 73 mm, after german norm 76,3 mm, here is a real problem for welders, but english pipe diameter 141 mm and german pipe diameter 139,7 mm is in tolerance. Usually mixing pipes of ANSI and EN is no problem.
