@2fwelding842 : I am german, Brittas boyfriend, and for reason of my Asperger disorder pedantic. Being a pedantic Asperger person was good in the twenty years, i was quality control man of a small german company. Please stop to use the word , Pickelhaube', this was in Second German Empire never an official term. Both the leather helmets used by line infantry and dragoons, and the steel or Tombak versions used by prussian and bavarian cuirassiers and Saxon , Heavy Riders' had been called , Helm mit Spitze '/ helmet with point. So french , casque a point' is corect. Pickelhaube was in Germany only a nickname, only a similar helmet, used by policemen in German part of Austria - Hungary was officially called Pickelhaube. Nothing against you, as nongerman this is surely unknown. Oh, inform yourself about helmets used by US state militias in 1880s, you will be surprised about Photos, showing Indian Scouts.

@Ukraineaissance2014 : A) With exeption of German Empire, the four (!) Axis Powers had No colonial troops. B) The German colonial forces had been, compared to colonial troops of allied forces in colonies of same size rather small, and, before 1914 in Kamerun and Deutsch Ostafrika half of troops had been Schutztruppe ( Military), half Kaiserliche Landespolizei ( Police). In Togo there was only Kaiserliche Landespolizei, in Deutsch Südwestafrika there had been only White men in Schutztruppe and Landespolizei, in chinese Tsingtao had been with exeption of German Port and fortifications Garrison only a weak company of chinese policemen. And in german Südsee territory there was only the Polizeibataillon, formed by natives. So: The German colonial forces had been weak, and could not reinforce German Main Army. But for their small size, they did a good Job. C) Why do you count Austria- Hungary and Croatia, Slovenia , Czechia??? Czechia was as Böhmen/ Bohemia a part of HRE since 10th century ( when in 955 for the first time an Army appeared , consisting of levies from all german ( not germannic) tribes, the Bohemians had been the rearguard), in 1914 Czechia was part of Austria (together with Mähren/ Slovacia and parts of Poland, and Croatia/ Slovenia was part of Hungary, together with Bosnia- Herzegowina and parts of Romania. D) None of Axis Powers had free Access to sea , so they had a Lack both of food and raw Materials. A sidenote to US behaviour in wwl. From 1914 to 1917, US Governent lied about neutrality. They had NEVER been neutral in wwl, they allways supported France and Brittain by delivering weapons and ammunition, they said Britisch armed merchant ships, they need an armament for defence against U- Boote and german Raiders, but they declared German armed merchant ships as warships.
Don' t belief all Allied Propaganda! Remember Saddam Husseins atomic bomb rockets and mobile chemical weapons production, both never existed, but was used as Propaganda for an Attack war. US Economy and Hollywood are experts in PR, so Propaganda lies are an easy thing for them.

@mailforbid1989 : Before German troops used Poison Gas, nearly every nation tried something chemical, but not deadly in small number. Teargas was used, according to a german military history magazine, the french started teargas use. Usually teargas is not deadly, but when soldiers are next to an Explosion of a teargas Grenade the in this moment rather concentrated teargas is possibly deadly. According to the noted article in the german Magazine, also grenades filled with ,Juckpulver' had been fired. I don' t know, how to translate Juckpulver, it is a powder usually sold in small paper bags. You open the small bag, and secretly fill the Powder from behind in the collar of a Person, shortly later the Person begins to Scratch himself. This Powder, popular in my youth, has now become rare, because Humor Style changed.

@LeeroyJenkinss : I am german, Brittas boyfriend, a conservative, rural , and nostalgic man. This means , i like my country like you like your country. I personally would have no problem with a parlamentaric monarchy. The change of systems in 1918 was no benefit for my country and Nation. It caused uprisings of communism , Bavaria (!), Saxony and Ruhr Area, Nationalist uprisings , Hitler- Kapp Putsch. If possible, i would give you a slap as powerfull as possible for your moralistic ignorance. Constitutional Monarchy was not ideal in Germany, also Constitution of 1871 caused problems, unbelieveable to US citizens. Then after the to early death of Friedrich ( Frederik) lll, Wilhelm Ii was a bit to young as new Emperor. Also, Wilhelm was not ideal for the position of German head of State, for reason of his Person. His younger brother Heinrich would have been , in my eyes, the better Emperor. He was no loudmouth and was very interessted, to hear, what other people think. If Wilhelm ll in 1913 died by falling from his horse at a hunting Trip, everybody would say, oh Wilhelm Ii was a rather strange man, but he was not involved into wars. But did German Population had a better life after 1918? A clear NO! My grandmother ( 1910- 1995) allways told me, when speaking about the time before 1950s: Oh, we allways had no Money! This poorness didn' t change from Imperial Age to , Economic Wonder' ( Wirtschaftswunder) of 1950s. Democraty didn' t change in 1918 life of German citizens into a better direction! You are a rarely seen uneducated Person. Please inform yourself what good moralistic Americans did after 1830s! Please inform yourself about the numbers of US citizens killed on regular US soil by foreign troops to the number of non US citizens killed by US forces on Non US soil. You notce something? Yes , the truth is hard.

@catbear3294 : The most common name in german for an ordinary tie being used with a shirt is nowadays , Krawatte ', and those different looking tie, which doesn' t hangs down to the belly, usually when fine dressed Gentlemen wear a Smoking ( Tuxedo?) is usually called , Fliege ' ( Fly). When i was young, for ordinary ties also the words Binder or Schlips had been used. In an old TV clip from late 1960s a traditional correct old Swiss detective asked german TV viewers , if they know something about a murderd German, they found in Switzerland. The policeman used the word ,Querbinder' to describe a tie of ,Fliege' type. Before and after i have never heared someone using this word. So, you sometimes find someone, who uses a totally unexpected word.
