  1. As longer the war lasted, as more leather became rare. At the end phase of war pistol holsters of pressed paper hat been made AS substitute for leather, only the small closing strap was real leather. ( According to german arms magazines) . I am german , Britta is my girlfriend, reading arms magazines is currently not forbidden by german weapon laws :-)

  2. Not totally correct. Showing the Hakenkreuz is allowed, when it is used for historical education. On title of german history magazine ,PM History' flags with Hakenkreuz are seen, there is a ,special' ,everyday life in the third Reich 1933- 1939' as main toppic of August 2022 magazine.

  3.  @christopherneufelt8971 : My english is limited, i don' t know it as good as my native german. Otto Skorzeny knew what to do, but according to german military history magazines, his knowledge was overestimated, there was too much Propaganda about him.

  5. Skorzeny was more a Propaganda showman in this operation, real work was done by Luftwaffe/ Fallschirmjäger.

  6.  @christopherneufelt8971  : Ich bin über den zweiten Weltkrieg nicht allzu gut informiert, mein Interesse gilt mehr jener Zeit, als die Uniformen noch farbig waren. Dem Bericht der Zeitschrift zufolge, war Skorzeny im Zusammenhang mit Handstreichen / Kommando- bzw. Geheimaktionen nicht unkundig oder unfähig, aber sein Können wurde von der damaligen deutschen Propaganda stark überhöht. Allerdings hat diese Propaganda immerhin bewirkt, daß sich die Westalliierten Gegner mehr als nötig fürchteten, bzw. vorsichtiger handelten.
