In a german arms magazine i read, that a kind of ,buckshot' cartridge was made for this purpose, but failed in practise.

@aceroadholder2185 : I am a man, only using my girlfriends computer . l am german, but for my bad eyes reason, i don' t served in Bundeswehr, so i never had military arms in my hands and i am a pure theoretic.

@ScottKenny1978 : In ,Forgotten Weapons' channel , one or two times muzzle loader forerunners of this 40 mm gun had been shown. Also in this cases, commenters asked, was it possible to use this guns as giant shotgun, and we don't know it.
