@funkyfudge11 : Now i understand, what you mean. In my german Homeregion sometimes the small town Owen causes confusion to strangers, because it is written Owen, but spoken Auen. We Germans usualy speak a word as we write it.

@funkyfudge11 : Also in german language the town names Posen and Warschau sound different, so the reason for Mr. Mc Collums error is unclear. Thats all.

@MIMALECKIPL : Many town names are in other countries different to the name used in the county , the town is located. Not only townnames, the ,Lake of Constance' is in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and german part of Switzerland called Bodensee, a different word. Or german town Aachen is Aix la Chapelle in french language.

@MIMALECKIPL : Possible, but i don't know, how this town was called in German language documents centuries ago. In old days in German documents or Maps, German Name was mostly used, for example Mailand instead of Milano, or Lüttich instead of Liege.
