German forces allways had a Lack weapons. So especially auxillary / Police/ guard units got captured , elderly or coverted weapons . In German language, i am german, we have the word ,verschlimmbessern', it means an attempt to make a Thing better, but in reality the Thing becomes worser, so Not all German conversions had been good. So i think, interessting easy to produce weapons had been carefully watched by companies/ Shops ( Werkstätten) not so expierienced in weapon production.

@kovalsky7620 : It happens sometimes in firearms construction, that Something seems new, but then IT IS noticed, that decades ago, an unknown inventer used this , but produced only a handfull prototypes. Years ago i read in a german language weapons Magazine, that workers in a Swiss weapons factory had to remove old stuff from a rarely used room. They found a strange looking pistol, which was the toppic of the article. When in late 1890s Swiss Army tested the available selfloading pistols. an unknown inventer Claus Clausius send a Selfmade pistol to the Test, but was not sucessfull, and the noted workers found his may be only produced pistol. Nerely nothing is known about Mr. Clausius, but His pistol of late 1890s had a Detail, which became important for pistols in 1930s.

@davidnicholas7516 : The German Army used an Item with some similarity of warhead (?) , the ,Puppchen' on a cannonlike carriage, which was Not practical. When captured Bazookas came to Germany, there was the noted impractical Puppchen , which now could be used as Basis for a more usefull weapon.

A small Note to the Logo of the Museum. It shows a helmet, which is in german language, i am german, called either Zischägge or Orientalische Sturmhaube ', the famous spanish Moiron helmet is in german also known as Spanische Sturmhaube. The Point is. German cuirassier helmet of 1914 had similarities.
