@lsad705 Genevieve Hansen was snarky and rolling her eyes while testifying. Judge Cahill has every right and responsibility to maintain order and respect in his courtroom. Even while admonishing her, she was talking back to the judge. That is why he got testy with her.

Derek Chauvin agreed to plead guilty to third-degree murder days after Floyd's death, but then-Attorney General William Barr rejected the deal. Judge Cahill reinstated a third-degree murder charge in the case after the Minnesota Court of Appeals ruled that the application of the count in another civilian death involving a Minneapolis police officer established precedent. Judge Cahill dismissed the third-degree murder charge in October, but granted the motion by prosecutors to reinstate the charge after hearing arguments from both sides of the case.

Judge Cahill is very respectful to his jurors knowing how hard it is to sit there testimony after testimony. He knows he can lose their attention if they don't break it up a bit. It also gives the attorneys time to catch a breather. I watch trials all the time and there are no more breaks given here than in other trials.
