  1. From a chemist's point of view, rare earths are not used in chip manufacture -- and probably never will be. They are huge in the Green Economy. They make LED lighting click, etc. But, to top things off, Ukraine is not regarded by the mining industry as a lode of rare earths. Vietnam is. Rare earths are just not that rare. Red China dominates their production and their REFINING because their easy ores are sedimentary. You don't even need to blast.

  2. Paul, in 2019 Zelenskyy betrayed Trump. The result was Trump's first impeachment and consequent loss at the polls. (2020) While denied, it must be obvious that Trump intensely dislikes Zelenskyy. Which is why the pressure is always in the background for Ukrainian elections. Whether Zelenskyy would be booted out, is for anyone to guess. In 1864 Lincoln was destined to lose -- until Sherman took Atlanta -- and it was obvious that the war was about to end. There are MILLIONS of Ukrainian men who are furious with Zelenskyy & Company -- and Putin has done everything possible to increase their disaffection.
