Climate Change is a religious belief -- so it's beyond debate.  What is obvious is that the Red Chinese never turned on their bag houses -- you know -- those power hungry gadgets that remove particulates from the exhaust stacks of coal fired boilers.  Yeah, that's why Red China's air pollution is so crazy. It's not carbon dioxide that's at issue -- it's the PARTICULATES -- aka soot. Consequences: Soot seeds clouds resulting in prompt rain. THIS is the source of the amazing up-tick in Red China's epochal flooding. Duh! It's also why western America is in epochal drought.  Red Chinese soot, over the North Pacific, is causing water vapor to fall as rain directly back into the ocean. It is then not available for North America. Red China has dammed virtually every viable hydro-power source, so you can't blame the CCP for not going Green. Heck, the CCP leadership is over-run with electrical engineers -- check out their bios. The rest are hydraulic engineers... and so forth. Thermal power became the term of art because it encompassed gas, oil and coal fired steam boilers (vs hydro-power) -- it's not a euphemism.  Atomic power came much later -- and was so unique that it was never conflated with the first three primary fuels.
