He is desperate to re-frame his invasion as a 'war against NATO.' Poland's offer was poisoned. It required NATO -- as an entity -- to gift the Migs. That's quite different than this or that NATO member sending defensive weapons. Oh, Migs are offensive weapons, too. Only ~ 30 Migs are insufficient to affect the flow of the fight. Whence their repair parts ? The USSR ? BTW, Mig-29s are notorious hangar queens. They usually stay on the ground -- with their mechanics.

Kim fell off of Trump's X-mas card list, too. But, Trump had him psyched. Note the lack of missile shots. When Biden arrived, Kim turned his war machine back onto full. That's just great. Both Trump and Biden wanted to end 'Bush's war.' (Both Bushs and Clintons hate Trump.) Trump wanted to exit, step-wise -- if, if, if. By your post, I gather that you'd prefer that the US still fund the spending for Kabul -- where wealth goes to die; where graft is endemic at mind boggling levels. (Thieves in Kabul need to steal enough for three-generations -- and they expect lots of grand-children.)

(It was flown in and out of from and to Pakistan.) After not so much time, the Bush crowd regretted the boss's gaff. Even now most Americans are wholly unaware that the Taliban were nothing but Islamabad's proxy army. Bin Laden was their honored guest. (Pakistan is a police state, no-one can hide there without official sponsorship.) Pakistan milked the USA all during the Bush administration. Obama put a stop to the milk. Trump didn't permit the milk to flow, either. Consequently, Islamabad has been in dire financial straits for more than twelve-years. Even their buddy, Red China, won't bail those crooks out. After Obama cut Pakistan off from the milk, New Delhi thought they'd found a new buddy. Note how Obama was suddenly feted like no American president ever -- in India. Now you know why.

Nope. Red China is spending LARGE on the PLAAF, PLA, and PLAN. Because of America's system, it spends much more for the same stuff than Red China does. When this adjustment is made, Red China is neck and neck with the US. Keep in mind that Red China's PLA actually owns its own business enterprises which spin off cash. This funding is outside the published stats that everyone uses to gauge the CCP's military spending. It's huge. Red China's spending is so vast that it has replicated the USN's fleet in only 15-years. (well, almost)

Elon Musk is getting a tremendous amount of his revenue from Federal and state government. Unusually, Elon is actually paying the highest income taxes known. So, he's the exception. Jeff Bezos is the norm. He's getting no end of government largesse -- while screwing over his labor force -- and everybody with a retail store. Amazon's corporate taxes paid are a joke. For years, Amazon didn't even collect sales taxes. That spread entirely explained its profit margin. By the time this was ended, Amazon had crushed its peers. So then, sales taxes were no problem !

@Omniseed Sub-sonic cruise missiles are exactly what you'd want to tear up Japan, Korea, Europe... Note how they are the chronic go-to weapon for all first strikes in conventional wars, retaliations. Hyper-sonics only make sense for atomic warfare. They are first strike weapons. It really is that simple. It's of note that once Russia started up with hyper-sonics -- Red China jumped in with both feet. America stayed on the slow-track, puzzled as to why such weapons conferred any military utility. America is developing a hyper-sonic weapon, but it's not going to be atomic tipped. It's designed for the bin Ladens of history. America wants a missile that can be carried by the B-52... and which can then zoom to kill a mega-terrorist once his location is finally pinned down -- knowing that such fellows are constantly on the move. Such an expensive weapon is cost effective compared to 9-11 and to a twenty-year war and occupation. Red China's hyper-sonic warheads require the consumption of an ICBM to get launched. They only 'work' if they're atomic tipped. Russia has some first strike hyper-sonics deployed with its surface fleet. They have no military utility. Why? The answer takes too much detail to relate here.

Indeed, if you go back, Biden was against Iraq, Afghanistan -- on and on -- for just about forever. His wing of the Democrat party felt the same way. Trump was working to a plan -- that went into the trash bin once he lost his presidency. In contrast the State Department and Pentagon were hugely invested in Kabul. Entire careers had been built around that self-licking ice cream cone. Both blocked Trump from getting out of Syria and Afghanistan. (We had as many guys in Syria as we did in Kabul, by 2020. Even Trump didn't know of this. Which is amazing. His key aides(D) had been lying to him. Then, days before the 2020, the principle dude went public with how he'd conned Trump, and kept 2,500 troops in Syria without Congressional or Presidential knowledge. The Democrat machine saluted him, of course.) We are still in Syria! This occupation has never been explained to the American public -- and I find that most folks still don't know a thing about it even though it's come out in the MSM from time to time.

Before Putin invaded, he convened all of his toadies -- and humiliated them collectively, individually, publicly. With that theater, Putin demonstrated that they WERE all toadies. Their collective terror was for the World to see. The FSB/KGB boss was left stuttering to a 'yes, sir.' Now he's under house arrest. (!)

One would swear that they've been monitoring threads, such as this one. BTW, at the scale of Putin's War, Kyiv is next to Russia. It's not in the center of Ukraine. It is so close that Putin actually believed that he could snag it in 24 to 48-hours... if only Zelenskyy would flee like an Afghan. Instead, I see Putin losing entire brigades in the mud ahead. MIgs can be detected at a great distance. But S-300s can easily sit silent -- and then pop off to nail a Russian plane. The reason SAMs exist is because they become a systemic threat to all attacking aircraft. They force an enemy to fly elsewhere or to contend with SAM defenses. The Migs are over-rated -- the S-300s are not appreciated by the average Joe. Russia never designed its air force to fight its own S-300 system. Ukraine has some, and Russia is afraid of them.

Mud is a show-stopper for trucks, tanks, APCs, etc. No trucks = no ammo... not much of anything. Putin is at hazard of losing the better part of his 8th All Arms Army... the one bashing Mariupol. It's logistical tail is quite long -- and porous. Ukraine is using classic sniping// insurgent tactics... but with smart munitions. Putin didn't bring enough men for his 'project.'

In European wars the main battle is always for the capital of a nation. So, Kyiv is priority number one for Putin. Kharkiv is priority number two. Odessa is priority number three. Dnipro is priority number four. Mariupol is priority number five. Lviv is out of reach. Putin actually took the 1st Guards Tank Army away from Kharkiv so as to assault Kyiv. This tells us everything we need to know. Since mud season has arrived, Putin is deep in the soup. He just can't move cross-country.
