I don't see them as terrorists -- but as barbarians -- one small notch above cannibals. They simply don't observe any of the modern conventions of warfare. They are throw-backs to Mohammed -- and proudly so. Yuck. What this means, in practice, is that you can't negotiate with them. They are absolutists convinced by their creed that all atrocities are normalized. Of course, they howl to heaven when their own norms are applied back upon themselves. It's like dealing in a sandbox with two-year-olds... killer two-year-olds. Is it any wonder that neither Jordan nor Egypt wants any of these fanatics within their borders ? In both instances, they tried to assassinate their way to political power -- have we all forgotten that ? Theirs is a degenerate culture -- scarcely different than the degenerate Nazis, Bolsheviks, Maoists. Look what they've done to the pearl of the Middle East. Who could've seen in 1974 what would happen to Beirut? Or in Amman in 1970 ? Or in the Sinai circa 2000 ? The Hez needs to be deported all the way over to Iran. Surely there's enough desert to satisfy their fratricidal impulses, in the high desert.
