The American rockets/missiles are certain to have rotten radar signatures. They are simply small. This also makes them prone to disappear into back ground clutter. Russia is electronics challenged -- which is demonstrated every day -- sloppy targeting -- and in their downed drones. Ryan, you are wildly over-rating the electronics suites deployed by Russia. There are no reports of even sloppy SAM activity against HIMARS missiles. BTW, to get full range, pod missiles simply have to launch high and go ballistic. By the time the Russian SAM radars are even in a position to pick American missiles up -- they are WAY high -- moving very fast. This flight profile can be seen in the famous daylight video of HIMARS destroying Putin's helicopter base. By the time the missiles are plunging to earth, they're outside the envelope of any near-to-the-front SAM capability. And, the missiles aren't truly ballistic. They will deviate from their idealized trajectory. The logical complexity approaches that of stopping an ICBM MIRV package. If late in the engagement, the SAM battery would have to chase the American missile into the ground. Perfect. Now the SAM missile adds to the impact of the American original. No, it's more than a software 'fix.' The Americans deliberately engineered a nightmare.
