@ronja_kkat Nope. Fat reserves used to be essential during pregnancy -- as well as lactation. In the deep past, food was simply not ready to hand, year-round. This legacy is still obvious in Equatorial Africa and the Samoan islands. In both cultures, brides are fattened up -- prior to the marriage rite. That's how shaky their food security used to be. It's still in the culture with "baby's got back" and such.

Joker, you missed it. The decisive faction of clothes buyers are women. So, at the level of the hind brain, these gals respond to models that actually resemble teen boys below the neck, preteens above. (Twiggy) A curvy model would merely raise hackles in the hind brain. This angst would cross over into her textile judgments. This all goes on below the level of higher cognition. No XX buyer would ever imagine that she is so influenced. Additionally, models have to have above average heights - for a woman -- but not excessively so. 5' 7" to 5' 9" (these days) is ideal. { Heights have risen over the generations. 5' 8" + used to be considered tall for a woman. } [ Check out the XX stars of Hollywood's Golden Era. 5' 2" or less was common. ]
