Ukraine is hugely flat. So, it's mobile warfare -- and ATGMs that will prove out. As for heavy tanks, the Ukrainians have a lot -- but the Russians have a lot more. The Russians also have a LOT more aircraft -- which are what counts for such campaigns. The Russian problem: their planes are 'hangar queens.' ( They have a LOT of down-time for maintenance. ) This issue is so severe, that one would expect 70% of their original force to be out of action within five-days of intensive flight. They 'broke on their own.' India has a lot of Russian/Soviet planes. They were shocked to find that visiting F-15s from the USAF were combat ready day after day after day -- during a recent exercise. Their own Mig-29s flew like demons -- but needed maintenance after most flights. Something broke. Once the Russian Air Force is degraded by events the real slog will begin. BTW, Russian helicopters are even worse in this regard.

@Bart Dr These are all fire-and-forget weapons. If I were a Russian officer, I'd be truly worried. Command tanks can be spotted. The latest stuff is reported to be spoof-proof.
