  1. Mud season has arrived. Putin has started to dig in his mechanized forces near Kiev. That's a 'tell.' Phase One is coming to an end. During mud season, foot infantry rule. Infantry with a sea of ATGMs figure to gut Putin's machines. Tanks/ IFVs/ APCs/ SPA become coffins... especially the latter. These machines were all conceived before our era of drones and smart munitions. They are as mounted knights greeting the arrival of gunpowder. This largely explains why so many Russian tanks are found abandoned, but working. Their crews got wise. Putin is destined to receive the classic death of ten-thousand cuts. His invasion force will probably fade away -- IF the West keeps feeding ATGMs in sufficient quantity. These are drastically cheaper than their targets. At some point, Moscow will figure the math out. Drones with smart munitions should prioritize self-propelled artillery. They have thin armor and are packed with explosive shells. They are also the main threat to civilians and infantry.
