  1. Blue eyes have superior vision in fog. Strange, I know. Such folks can see about twice as far. Imagine what that would mean in battle, hunting, etc. when fog is common every morning. One imagines that blue eyes permit more light to enter the retina in such low light situations. Equatorial sunlight would have the reverse selection... as would true polar sunlight.
