  1. Putin is like Napoleon and Adolf: he's not for turning -- or learning. Napoleon kept raising fresh armies even after epic defeats. ( 1813 in Russia/ 1813 in Germany -- then 1815 in Belgium -- he was actually raising fresh troops even as the Prussians, British, Russians and Austrians were closing in on Paris. Only then, he found out he'd reached the the other end of the barrel. ) Adolf kept lowering the draft age until he was down to 10-year-old boys. He raised it until 75-year-old seniors were in the ranks, too. This ends with a civil war on the streets of Moscow. Eventually, even the dimmest Ivan will figure things out. He won't be happy. BTW, all dictators have glass jaws. They can't afford military fiascos... not usually.
