  1. I suspect that the area used to have the riverine quality of the Amazon -- way, way, way back when. Repeated super-floods created multiple bedding planes -- which were fed from even more ancient mountains/ volcanic systems. You are on the gold. You are drilling through what had been a low point in a river system -- probably not very far at all from the near vertical river drop coming down the mother mountain/ hill / dike system. This must be true as the very size of your nuggets says: "Very high velocity Spring run-off deposition." -- Or, simple flash floods of much more recent ages. Anyway you figure it, you're on the gold. You just know that the biggest nuggets will be even lower down. You have yet to find the absolute bottom of your bedding planes. Oh, my. BTW, you still could benefit by opening up a Fat Farm for Muckers... though Slim might scare away business. He over did it.
