  1. Macron was the Sherpa, paving the way for Starmer and, ultimately, Zelenskyy. He was the model statesman that Zelenskyy should've taken his cues from. Instead, Zelensky came in with a psychic chip on his shoulder. He was not a happy camper -- the second that he was not exalted. He has gotten used to being the Star in every confab. But he can never be a star that out shines his primary benefactor. A point that Trump REPEATEDLY laid out. But it never sunk in. A starving man walks out when there's a banquet in his honor waiting for him, if he is GRATEFUL. He's not. He's entitled. This tic has long been noted in the diplomatic world. It's only news to the general public.

  2. VDH, well said. What you never brought up: Ukraine has NO Rare Earths. It does have a lot of Natural Gas. This latter fact is what originally super disturbed Putin. He owns 1/3 of Gazprom -- through cut-outs. It was the American driller's entry -- frackers -- that blew his mind. Studies showed that he'd soon lose Ukraine as a dependent customer -- and then all the rest. THAT'S what freaked him out. Ukraine, being so much closer, warmer, (Relatively) would trump Putin's gas play. Ukraine has NO Rare Earths nor prospect of any, nor does it have any oil, either.
