  1. VDH, well said. What you never brought up: Ukraine has NO Rare Earths. It does have a lot of Natural Gas. This latter fact is what originally super disturbed Putin. He owns 1/3 of Gazprom -- through cut-outs. It was the American driller's entry -- frackers -- that blew his mind. Studies showed that he'd soon lose Ukraine as a dependent customer -- and then all the rest. THAT'S what freaked him out. Ukraine, being so much closer, warmer, (Relatively) would trump Putin's gas play. Ukraine has NO Rare Earths nor prospect of any, nor does it have any oil, either.
