Uranium IS a Rare Earth -- a HEAVY Rare Earth. Rare Earths are not really rare, about as common as copper. It's just that prospectors and geologists have sought out copper for millennia. China's great advantage in their Inner Mongolia situation is that, largely, the ore was extracted decades ago, and was simply heaped around the iron ore mine as waste. The first place to look: Tailings/Dumps. Finding Rare Earths should not be too tough. Just look around every iron ore deposit similar to that in Inner Mongolia. BTW, Rare Earths were first isolated up at a northern Swedish mine. The BIG research ought to be focused on how to REFINE them out of ores. Red China as a monopoly on this tech. The 97% is totally bogus. It really reflects their domination of refining. Red China processes Vietnam's ore, etc. Lastly, the real bone of RE is their ability to ECONOMIZE on power.
