@tonihil The key to such 'displacements' is last second timing. From our chairs, we can never know such a thing. Right now the RA has pushed the UA out of Lyman -- and is heading straight into a swamp west of that city. Because it's a swamp, the UA can't dig in -- water table too high -- every hole is a bathtub. At the same time, the RA can't hide, either. Say hello to Javelin. Since the UA owns the night, I'd expect that the UA will prove impossible to trap/ pin down. That's been the consistent experience, so far. Putin simply does not issue night-vision goggles to his canon fodder. Ultimately, the war will be decided by infantry with night-vision goggles. Putin has no answer for them. He doesn't even have enough infantry to properly man a front line. Putin is stuck in Case Blue; Zelenskyy is awaiting Uranus.

@tonihil You didn't condense -- you 'non-sensed.' This war is going to turn on infantry versus infantry -- ultimately -- because Russia can't field -- even remotely -- enough night vision gear to compete. Night vision equipment consumes microchips -- the very thing Russia can't produce -- or acquire. It's not up to me, sitting in my omniscient chair, to opine on when or whether the UA should displace or advance. I know enough to know what I can't know. See ?

@tonihil But what if the Russians have been lying? Lying all along? If they can produce such high tech gear, why, pray why, is it not in the hands of its army on a luxurious scale? We know why. They can't. BTW, FLIR SENSORS are a sub-set of night vision logic. And... at what resolution? If they don't show up in a campaign such as this one, then Moscow can't bring them to the fight at all. BTW, it's been quite a surprise to discover that Russia's missiles use commercially available chips imported from the West. I guess price does matter.

@andremoraes1391 Absurd. The UA has special details going around to even help the elderly get rides on short buses -- so as to flea the RA. The wife and kids are now to be found all over western Ukraine, Poland and Romania -- even as far as Britain.

@Reece1980 The digital logic embedded in SAM systems does not recognize very small and slow objects as threats. The drones fly as slow as birds. They deliberately swoon left and right -- like they are a hawk. Their radar signature is that of a bird, too. The IDF has proved this over Syria. As a concept, the Switchblade is an Israeli idea. Such tiny drones are vastly cheaper than the S-400 missiles used to shoot at them.
