I smell the RN shifting older atomic boats to the Aussies -- essentially as training vessels. The UK can see that thwarting Red China is far more important than trolling through the North Sea. The American subs were already shifting to the Indo-Pacific. With this three-way treaty, now the UK is shifting subs to the antipodes.

Near term, the real deal is that the USN will soon be stationing submarines in Australia -- same as it did during WWII. The US will also be stationing more air wings and Marine brigades. You should also look to see the UK stationing -- rotationally -- more ships of the RN. Down the road, I'd not be surprised if Japan ups its game to atomic submarines -- until now a taboo notion.

@The_Desert_Tiger Geo-politics can change everything on a dime. Canberra didn't see any utility for SSNs until pretty recently. Look at the shock of Paris -- and Beijing. Near term, it would not shock me if Sweden sells AIP subs to Taiwan. Such subs would be ideal in terms of frustrating any Red Chinese direct assault upon Taiwan. Any deal is totally dependent upon how outrageously the CCP behaves. Subs aren't cheap.
