Everything points to Trump assuming that their is some 'common ground' that can lead to a tolerable deal. Everything about Putin tells us that he CAN'T negotiate. ( Even victory would lead to his death. ) He has his demands, and if you don't like those, he has yet more demands. Instead of give and take -- for Putin -- it's take, take, take. The single most likely outcome is that the illusion of a Deal will evaporate by Summer... And the Russian army and economy implode. It's apparent that Putin's troops have already 'culminated' in the field. In a repetition of WWI -- no-one can solve the 'drone defense.' Every attack, large or small, ends up as a graveyard. You win big by merely defending -- and keeping your head down. True peace will require Putin & Coy to be destroyed at every level: financial, martial, philosophical.
