  1. Throttle restriction holds the turbine down to 1500 shp. Once this gadget is pulled, the turbine can crank out 2500 shp. The ability to go from economy mode to war mode is so astounding -- that the Russians have adopted turbines, too. T&P: by the 1970's the Cold War had been going full tilt for an entire generation. Do keep that in mind.
