Red China wants to be a serious naval power. That's never on the cards for a major continental power. France, Germany, USSR all discovered that displacing Great Blue is a nightmare. Great Blue will throw its A-team to sea; Big Red dares not weaken its land forces. Napoleon loses to Lord Nelson; the Kaiser loses to Baron Fisher; the KM loses to the RN; etc.

BTW, the CCP has reported that the CCP virus inflicted less pain to Red China than it did to Australia. 26,000,000 people suffered more than 1,400,000,000 people -- if you believe CCP stats. That's most impressive.

Stop tossing around the term "super power." At best, Red China is a major REGIONAL power. She's not even on track to be a Great Power. All Great Powers are technologically self-enabling. France, Britain, Russia, are Great Powers. They derive much of their status as ex-colonial powers -- Russia, especially. Super power status must always elude Beijing. She is an alienating power -- unable to induce win-win alliances in the past. And never able to do so in the future -- for the very same reasons that crafted China's history.

@mariyamhasan9962 Red China can never rise above Great Power status. The term super-power is tossed around too lightly. Most of Red China's military expenditures are required to just hold onto its land-mass. Unlike the Americans, Canadians or Mexicans, Red China does not have calm borders. So Beijing can't sustain a serious expeditionary army. But the latter is of the essence for a super-power.

@mariyamhasan9962 Red China has another profound weakness in the military arts: she has nothing but first-born sons in her ranks. Historically, armies and navies are fleshed out with 2nd, 3rd and 4th born sons. Traditionally, 1st borns are held back to work on the family farm and to care for mom and dad. They are not 'expendables.' They also don't need to prove themselves in battle. (to gain a mate, etc.) By tradition, the Red Chinese just don't see themselves as great combatant sailors. The contrast with British and Japanese martial tradition is stark. The Australians, Canadians and Americans all see themselves as serious fighters at sea. To fight all of those nations at once -- and at sea -- is daunting.

VP EN, you do realize that the stats you start out with have already been revealed to be utterly corrupted ? The CCP paid to have its stats goosed by the World Bank, et. al.
