  1. Factions within the Latin American nations were responsible for virtually all of the 'dust-ups.' The US got a very nasty reputation when it intervened to calm things down -- being a status quo power. Something like this has been seen in our own time -- in Afghanistan, Iraq... The US is not the primary instigator -- but is virtually universally hated as the outsider, the ultimate, meddling power.  You can still see this in current commentary WRT Afghanistan. No faction is happy with the American intervention -- itself triggered because Afghanistan was a co-belligerent with al Qaeda on 9-11 -- and was proud to claim so. Jihad and all that, you see.  The Taliban STILL feel such sentiments, check out their oratory, so their jihad is hardly over. Biden pulled out of war you can't shed.  That's why Milley, et. al told the President that America just had to leave a toe-print in Kabul.  Biden over-ruled the Pentagon... and the Beltway... hence the crazy pull-out we all have witnessed. The Deep State did not expect to leave -- at all.
