He is desperate to re-frame his conquest as a war by Russia to thwart NATO. He wants to escalate ! ~ 30 Hanger queens will not affect the flow of the fighting. Yes, Mig-29s spend the bulk of their time in the shop. That's what killed Russian sales of that machine. When it does fly, it's just great. It's the Soviet answer to the F-15 Eagle. Whence the spare parts it requires? The USSR? Now you understand why the nations with Mig-29s almost never fly them. They stay in the hangar. (The Polish deal stinks, too. They want NEW F-16s) Ukraine is -- we're told -- flying less than ten sorties a day. What's a crime is that the S-300 is still under discussion. It should've been shipped to Kiev two-weeks ago. The Russians never designed their air force to fly against their own S-300 SAMs. The sole reason that the RAF is so 'absent' is because they're staying away from Ukrainian S-300s. Hence, they're flying low, usually at night. No wonder they can't hit anything military. Instead, they aim for high rise apartment towers.
