Other than air defense, the West has provided nothing but cast-offs to Kyiv. The delays you oft read of -- the stuff had to be re-manufactured. (!) Rubber does not last decades in storage. Big Talk, though. As for water warfare -- I pitched it -- (1988, 2006, ... over and over. ) Water is exceptionally brave, fearless it is. It's never been defeated. If you actually saw the correct video -- not in the above clips -- you'd realize that the seawater pumps are military grade -- and the IDF bought them years ago, plainly. [ I pitched them in 2006 for Hezbollah's Lebanese fortress complex. The IDF was not ready for that fight, had to improvise. ] It's not necessary to truly flood the tunnels like they're pipes. Merely putting three-feet of sea water in the active network ruins them for military purposes. All of the ammo is stored down low, you know it. It must be too late to save most of it. What a tragedy! As for the hostages, they ARE the prize. There is NO WAY that Hamas will let anyone drown. Each soul is worth their weight in gold -- strategically. Of course, at some point the IDF will start adding dye to the sea water -- making it impossible for Hamas fanatics to deny their culpability. Such a dye could be UV triggered. So the enemy wouldn't even know that they've been compromised. Cute. ( Civilians would have never been allowed down into the tunnels, of course.)

@kitcat4512 Not quite. France, Germany, both long opposed Ukraine's admission. Today it's Hungary and Slovakia. EU entry would cause a massive flow of economic subsidies from the EU to the 2nd poorest member -- going on for decades. Kyiv is fleeing the Kremlin -- the EU does not covet Ukraine. It has taken Putin's War to change minds in Paris and Berlin.

@garybiggs9010 The West, USA, were so uninvolved that the revolution was a complete shock in DC. The CIA, as usual, didn't see it coming, same as 1991. Everyone was shocked when the Ukrainian supreme court booted out its president -- on top of its legislature. Boy, infuriating EVERYONE, that IS some trick!

@SocraticMutt The proximate trigger was the bug-out from Kabul. Putin started spooling up his invasion within months. Check the record. Putin had bought off PLENTY of Ukrainian politicians which is why he reasonably thought that the doors would be left open. And, often, they WERE. That's why Kherson was promptly lost to Putin -- without scarcely a shot. The Vast bulk of Putin's initial surge was unopposed. Remember that. Putin also controlled the priesthood -- hence all of the arrests of so-called priests. They were, and remain, KGB/FSB operatives. It has taken MONTHS for the Ukrainian counter-intel boys to round up the traitor cohort. But, it still all comes back to Biden's bug-out. ( Toss in his appeasement of Tehran, too. ) Biden-Blinken strike again! These two are with Israel -- and also with Hamas & Iran. Hence, they are Brutus.

@BillyColeII-dr6dk He spewed every manner of demand, over the years. The KEY is that he ALWAYS coveted Ukraine -- same as his conquest of Georgia, the Donbas. He STILL covets the Baltics, Poland, Romania, Slovakia -- and so much more.

@ScottishAlaskan77 They were conquered and oppressed -- so the very idea that they wanted MORE of that is absurd. During Soviet times, the rule was that ALL Ukrainians were to be used as sergeants -- not officers -- which just goes to show their second-class status -- across the board. And then, there's the Holodomor. Sheesh. Take a clue.
