Well, the Nazis did have one heck of a spy network down south. And, after the war, the Nazis did invade Argentina!

FDR suckered Adolf with a couple of gambits. The #1 gambit was the release of Rainbow Five -- via the back-door. It was initiated by FDR as a survey of the most knowledgeable Americans about the nation's ability to gear up for war in Europe. The survey results were DIRE. In sum: American was in no position to intervene in Europe for at least eighteen-months -- at best -- and more realistically -- America needed two-and-a-half years. The Luftwaffe was THAT far ahead of anything America had. Cute. Then FDR made a STORM about this critical survey getting into the public domain. Heh. Hoover was put on it. After a few weeks he discovered who the leaker was: Hap Arnold's personal aide. Hoover instantly realized that FDR had leaked it himself. Cute. It was dis-information. The #2 gambit was supplied by Stalin. He delayed his Winter counter-attack as long as possible fully knowing that the IJN was going to strike the USN. Yes, his spies were that good. The idea was, like FDR's, to lull Adolf into wild over confidence. And, it WORKED. Even as the Winter Counter-Offensive rolled ahead, Adolf Hitler declared war on the USA. Congress returned the feeling with a unanimous vote. Hitler was done for.
