  1. Atomic energy release is the ONLY militarily viable solution. Post WWII naval accidents (John McCain) have shown that even a slew of conventional munitions will scarcely damage a super carrier. Where it counts, super carriers have more armor than an Iowa class battleship. They are not at all like WWII carriers -- which were sunk all the time.
